This location is take-out only. No indoor seating. But since it is next to the Paterson train station, I stop by from time to time. Had a banana shake today - pretty good on a very hot afternoon. Service is fine. The employees are quick and are not rude or anything, BUT I specifically asked for no pickles. I bit into my sandwich and almost threw up while driving. I stopped my car immediately to be horrified by pickles in both of the sandwiches I had ordered. I felt so heartbroken. I was starving and my food was ruined. I used to eat frequently at the checkers in Jersey City when I worked in the city is enjoying their burgers and particularly the chili dogs is I think their chili is the best I've ever had on a chili dog. Now that I don't work in Jersey City any longer the checkers in Paterson are the closest ones. However I was hesitant to give them a try giving some of the negative reviews that I read here. I finally decided to try the checkers on market Street today and must say that it is every bit as good food and service is the one I enjoyed in Jersey City. Gloria was working at the drive-in window and she was very pleasant. I receive my order and everything tasted good my only regret is that I forgot to order their apple pie which is the best of any fast food places that I found. I stopped by again and didn't forget the apple pie this time! I don't know why anyone would be complaining about service if Gloria is working - it's nice to enjoy a brief upbeat connection if there's not a line behind you at the drive up window. read more

The Checkers Restaurants located in Paterson, NJ (both Locations-Market St. & West Broadway) located in Paterson, NJ have issues with getting orders correct & courtesy. The Market St. location always runs out of smoothies, this is just bad Management, they need to order more supplies when they are starting to get low so that the customers are always served. These restaurants are badly managed and simply don't care about serving their customers. The rudeness of the employees is a reflection of the bad management and constantly running out of supplies for example...smoothies, is also reflective of BAD Management. The food is ok, the hot dogs & fish sandwich are good, but, the french fries are horrible-TOO SALTY! very unhealthy especially for people with hypertension issues...do NOT eat the potato fries, however, the funnel cake fries are a delicious treat. My advice is to just be prepared to deal will rudeness and order mix-ups if you want to patronize these 2 Checkers locations in Paterson, NJ. read more

Went to checkers for the first time today and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. It has an old burger joint feel and the food (for fast food) is pretty tasty. I noticed when I got back to my office that my bacon loaded fries was missing, I called the store and Tracy the manager answered , she was so pleasant, sweet and professional. I have to say that I would def go back knowing they have such a great manager running the place. read more

So the cashier and her associate didn't even get our order correct then got mad at us when we told her the order was incorrect and they were missing items... she literally said " C'MON YALL PLAYING GAMES ITS COLD AS FUCK " well I'm sorry your colleague got our order incorrect. Literally she was so nasty, we asked for a milkshake and the man said oh I broke the machine down so no milkshake... my thing is if you're open how are you already shutting machines down??
