A nice fast food option. I must say that the burgers are not too bad. I tend to forget that this place is even here because it is sort of hidden from the street. They really need an easier way to enter and exit. Coming from the North, Checkers cannot even be seen from the road so people would just drive past without noticing it. They had some coupons available in the mail so I decided to drop on by. I had the Big Buford combo. They must of had the sandwich already made before I got there cause I did not have to wait at all for my order. Sure, I was the only one there on a Saturday night, but it seemed way to fast. I was sure that I would not like the Big Buford, but I was wrong. It was better than most every other fast food burger in my opinion (with In-N-Out burgers being the only better option). The french fries were a nice surpise also. They are seasoned differently than other places, and have a nice crisp taste. I'll have to go back to try more items on their menu. The menu is diverse, and I noticed they have 2/$1.00 apple pies available. Unfortunately, when I was there the pies were not ready. Good reason for me to go back. read more

It's almost a routine that I come here after my dental appointment. My dentist is not happy but what can I do? I'm in love with Checker' seasoned fries. It's almost a sin not to get their fries everytime I come here. Seriously, it's that good!! My last visit here, I ordered fries (ofcourse) and the Oreo Raspberry Sundae which was very good. The combination of Oreo ice cream, raspberry and hot fudge was pretty good. Although this place is mostly drive-thru service, they also have outside seating and dining. The place is always clean and service is good. I'm definitely a returning customer. read more

I've always loved to come here when working in the area. They have a great selection of finger foods as well as burgers. Their fries are to die for. They have a dual drive thru, have enough parking but not much seating or shading to dine here. Of course you can't dine in the restaurant, it has to be out side. read more

I'm old enough to remember the delicate crispy and delicious fries from Rally's, so when Checkers opened, and on my side of town, I. Was. Elated. I don't remember much from Rally's except the fries. They will haunt your dreams until you satisfy the craving. No joke. Checkers is hard to get to if you're going to park and eat. If that's the case, I recommend parking a little farther away and walking. They have a walk-up window and a few patio tables for those wishing to take this route. If you do drive thru, they have not one, but two lanes! I usually drive thru alone, so i don't get to take advantage of the second lane which has the pick up window on the passenger side. The food is pretty quality and the price point is super reasonable. They also have tons of promotions to get multiple items for even cheaper! Yay! 11/10 will return for the FRIES! read more

I had never in my life been to a Checkers but I had read on Yelp that the fries were really good. After a work out, I made my way there for my treat. I just got a kids' hamburger meal to share, trying to watch portions. The fries really were good! They were served HOT and fresh, had a crunchy coating on them but this did not take away from the potato taste. Peppery but not spicy. The hamburger was good too. I loved the soft, seeded bun, sour pickle and the fact that they do not goop a lot of condiments on it. Included on the side was neon sour gummy worms! LOL! No toy in the meal, oh well! The wait in the drive thru with just one vehicle ahead of us was a bit long but it would not prevent me from going back another time to try out something else. read more

Just had a burger from checkers, nothing special and the bun looks sad...no way does it look like the pic on their coupons! Talk about false advertising! Look at my pics and see for you self! All in all its good when your hungry! Just not great like "in and out's". On an up note the chocolate shake is bomb!! read more

Always extremely slow and they don't say anything until after you've been sitting at the telecom for a few minutes in the drive thru.

I had ordered food from here the other day for my coworker and myself. She ordered their fry lovers burger and a side of fries, I got their Chicken Bites and Mozzarella sticks. Her burger was DRENCHED in only mustard, and was cold even though it was "just made". The fries were mushy and cold as well. My chicken bites were, somehow, burnt and ICE cold, as though they had been sitting out for hours. The cheese sticks were dripping in oil, flimsy, and... you guessed it, cold. I was so dissatisfied and disappointed, because I had only heard good things about Checkers in the past but this was disgusting. I can't imagine a scenario where I will ever go back, and I certainly do not recommend this place. read more

Before Checkers, we used to go to Rally's off California. Not alot of people frequent this Checkers location. I'm speculating that only people that live on this side of Bikersfield know about it. Checkers has amazing food, burgers and more. They practically have a variety of items folks would be suprised to see on their menu, like hotdogs, chili dogs, popcorn chicken, slushes, stuffed patties, boneless & classic wings and mozzarella sticks. All at great prices and deals. The food is good and the workers are pleasant, well most are, unfortunately there are some that are questionable and if you visit and catch one you'll see for yourself. Don't let it bother you. read more

We stop here about every two weeks. We love the burgers and chicken sandwich. I think the thing we like the most is that it's affordable. I can feed the whole family for $20. I'm not a big fries guy, but I like these. I eat about 4 or 5 of these. LOL. I haven't tried anything else but the burgers, so I can't give any opinions on anything else. The burgers have really good flavor and you can pretty much order them how you want. If you want fast food, and cheap and good... go check it out. read more

the workers clearly can't make a plain Sandwich for the life of them. got a plain chicken sandwich and they layered it in mayo and lettuce even after they confirmed it was plain I keep trying to give them a chance but they don't listen and shouldn't have a job if you can't listen to simple things js as that. read more

Checkers is a hit or miss. I constantly have to check my food every single time I go because there's always something wrong or missing. The food is good when it's done correctly! My husband and I love eating here for the great price BUT one time we had gotten their boneless wings. Drove all the way home. (15 min drive home) and while we were eating the wings, my pregnant ass realized the wings were RAW. Purple raw! Only cooked for like 3 mins raw. My husband already ate one whole raw boneless wing and we had to drive all the way back for NO REFUND. I just thought that was ridiculous. So unprofessional. The place needs to get it together. read more

Honestly I could go here just for the fries. They are always good with their batter and seasoning, unlike a lot of other fast food places. The food is very consistent and I like the choices. On another note they are always offering some kind of deals which makes it about the best option when wanting to get some fast food for cheap. For example today I got a chicken bite box with fries and basically popcorn chicken for $2 and a small combo meal for $3 with a cheese burger, fries, drink and an apple pie.... total cost of meal was $5.35 !!!!!! Burgers, fish sandwiches, chicken sandwiches, boneless wings, fries, shakes and more. If you never tried I'd suggest you give them a try sometime. read more

Amazing place. The employees are always so upbeat and kind. Love the ice cream here too

It's literally hit or miss as someone else in the comment section pointed out. Pre pandemic and some during pandemic it was always solid and great customer service undeniably great. Checkers was literally a model for fast food sevice with EXCELLENT FOOD excellent prices and fresh hot food with amazing customer service and fast customer service. I haven't gone often since I got bad experiences in a row and the very last time was okay but it's a complete shame how far the great checkers has fallen. As a former fastfood worker it's obviously the cause of cheap corner cutting penny pinching management. What a shame read more

First time ever eating here. I came in with little to no expectations as I work in fast food myself. Combo was reasonably priced at $6. Got the two spicy chicken combo. A friend and I got food poisoning yesterday from cheeseburger we split. Will not be going back.

I was ordering and the lady just assumed I was done and when I kept going she was like "ugggh" like I only got 1 meal and 2 hamburgers. Everyone was rude and the food didn't taste good at all. Gave us hard lettuce and the wrong drink and they weren't even busy. 10/10 don't recommend(: read more

I've driven past this place plenty of times and noticed the cute 50's style look of the place with it's black and white checkered outside with red accents. It made me think of movies like American Graffiti and roller skating waitresses, but I never got around to trying it before now. Wow! I had no idea what I'd been missing out on for so long. I knew it was a burger place - and the burgers are pretty decent - but it's the fries that are the star of the show for me! Their seasoned fries are shaped like everyone else's standard fries, but instead of just shaking seasoning salt on them, they appear almost as if they were covered with some type of seasoned breading or coating before being fried. The seasoning is good, but it's the difference in texture that seems to make these fries stand out from the rest! It's almost like their secret ingredient is crack! I kept thinking about these fries for DAYS after I'd been here. On my next visit, I opted to try the chicken wings. I don't think I'd ever had wings from a fast food place that wasn't completely dedicated to chicken preparation before, so I wasn't really expecting much. Honestly, it was just an excuse to back and try those fries again! I detest boring bland wings, so I ordered the "angry buffalo" wings and was pleasantly surprised. They were pleasantly tangy with a little bit of a bite to them. I didn't find them hot enough to require a dip in the accompanying ranch dressing dip, but then my personal philosophy is "If it isn't spicy enough too completely clear out your sinuses, then what's the point?" so the rest of you may find these on the hot side. I dipped the last one into the ranch dip just out of curiosity, but wasn't a big fan of it. I found it too bland, but then maybe that's what people are looking for to counterpoint the spiciness of the wings. I found the wings to have an ample amount of meat on each one, and they were quite tender, too! I didn't try the shakes on either visit, but I figure that'll be my excuse for the next return visit to get my fix of those fries! read more

Great spot to grab some fast food. Gentleman was nice as we took a little while in the drive thru he gave us the apple pie thingy. Lol. I dont k ow what it's called but it was delicious and so was our freshly cooked fast food. The wings were pretty small but tasteful and my fish sandwich was fresh. The fries are the best fast food fries in my opinion. Good job!!! read more

There was no line when I drove up. I ordered my food with ease, customer service was polite. I ordered there new big Checker. The burger, nothing fancy, relise heavily on condiments to make taste good. But for the price, there is no way they are busting out high grade beef. The fries, I enjoyed tasted really good, with ranch. They charge 42 cents for a cheep ranch. I thought for 42 cents it would be like restaurant ranch, but I was wrong... Dead wrong. LOL They serve Coke products so that is a plus! read more

This place has been around for awhile now. But the only thing I have tried are the wings. They have some of the best in Bakersfield.

Me and My family very hungry so we thought we would try something new. I can't believe I have lived life so long without going to this place. Checkers is delicious. It is a drive up or drive thru fast food joint that offers a wide variety of products. They have burgers, wings, and chicken sandwiches. There are a few different types of dessert, including a little funnel cake. Awesome! I love the seasoning on the fries and they are always cooked to perfection. The burgers are slightly cheaper than its competitors and much more flavorful. The only thing is the drive thru usually takes quite a while and the customer service is either fantastic or crap, there is no in between really. All in all, it's one of our go to places for fast food now. read more

This review is strictly for their wings. God forbid we walk, lol but when we are too lazy to get out of our truck for wings we love to hit this place up. They are actually pretty good, flavorful, really well priced and they offer a few really good flavors. So far we have tried and recommend the angry buffalo, medium classic, honey bbq and garlic parmesan. They have orders up to 40 piece wings. For the place itself, it's small more of a drive thru type joint, but they do have a small outdoor dining area and the people working there are always friendly. read more

My first time coming to checkers and it was delicious. I ordered the Cheese Champ combo.
