The girls at this location are excellent! They always recognize me and are so professional and polite. I am from the Bay Area by lately have been in Merced caring for my elderly parents. They don't hassle me because the address on the check doesn't match the address on my CDL. I told them the situation and after the first transaction at this location they have always just cashed my check. With all the stress that I deal with on a daily basis it's so nice to know that when I go to the Merced check into cash location I'm going to have a pleasant experience. DO NOT come here at all. The employees ignore you and would rather sit and eat behind the counters. The place smelt like bug spray had been sprayed all over the house. Also, did I mention there is little to no seating in this building. When I was waiting there was multiple elderly having to stand upwards of 2 hours because of how the staff ignored people. They literally did a phone interview with someone when there was a line out of the door. When they finally called someone up they asked irrelevant questions like who was their phone provider. One of the staff left for an hour and came back with food for everyone and they ate in front of our faces when we were waiting. Also did I mention the place is like the Sahara desert in there. I had to step outside and lose my place in line multiple times because I was about to have a heat stroke in their building. All I can say is don't waste your time and come here they are all useless. Oh also they ran my credit without asking and it dropped 25 points. read more

The manager refused to send a western union transfer on my behalf because he felt I was being scammed. I told him I knew the person personally and he demanded proof. I asked him what proof I could provide to which he said 'I don't know, you should know.' I told him I don't know what I can provide for his made up policy. I also asked where he could show the me the policy which outlined different acceptable proofs to which he said there wasn't any. The most insane thing is that I have sent western union transfers, to that same person, from that same Check Into Cash, several times. Additionally, the manager has been present in the store during those transfers, though not helping me directly. The unfortunate thing is that there are two female tellers that work there who are very nice, courteous, and helpful. They are great. However, I would avoid this place in case you have to deal with the manager and his made up policies - who knows if he'll send your money? Who knows if he'll give you your money? I found another western union place two minutes down the road on Olive - go there instead. read more

Beware of Check Into Cash. They run your credit when you haven't given them permission to do so. They have done it to me twice and it drops my credit score every time. I have reported this to them but they say that it was a glitch and they will have it fixed but both inquiries still remain on my credit. read more
