Attention, protect your money! Stopped by around first week of September this year, to make a deposit at the drive through atm machine, the machine was having trouble processing the deposit. Was taking way too long. At the end of the transaction, gave. A msg warning that something was wrong but that the deposit went through. After idk, 10-15 minutes there I drive away in the parking lot and I check my app, the deposit went trough. So days later, 5-7 days after, I keep getting msgs that my credit card payment wasn't made after it was taken from my account. And it overdraft that's why I made deposit since I forgot to make the deposit. Everything looked good to go the day of the deposit. But days later. The money was out of my checking account count and the payment never went through, so after days trying to figure it out. I walked in on Monday 9/29/2025 to resolve this. But turns out that there was no records of the deposit. Called the 800 number and after talking to 3-4 people tu turns out there's no records of the deposit and nothing they can do. While talking to the last person on the phone they just hung up. And still trying to figure this out. At this point, that deposit never happened and there's no record in my account. And seems like nothing can be done when their atm machine was having issues. At this point, after everyone treated me like I'm trying to get that money that was deposited according to them. I'll be looking into suing, it could have been 1000s of dollars. And seems like nothing can be done. Now I owe an extra credit card payment. Late payment and most likely paying late fees. And no one can do nothing about it... read more

I went in at 10:15am, I wanted to open a bank account, they wanted me to come back at 2 as there was no one to help me, are you serious?! They cited a company policy to not cash a check written from their bank due to a high amount (asinine rule as she could see the check was good when citing it but not my complaint here) I asked if there was anyway a manger could override and she very rudely just repeated its company policy and pushed the check back my way. This location usually has fast service despite their lines accumulating fairly quickly during peak hours. The tellers are very friendly and always make sure that customers leave happy with as smooth of transactions as possible. The bankers seem very knowledgeable and are always willing to answer all questions to get patrons the account details they need. read more

I wish I can give this place less than a star to be completely honest. The service is ridiculously slow, they put ATM machines in places of tellers that do not do the job of the teller and they closed off 3/4 of the wall taking most the tellers. Most of the time there's only two tellers available with a long line. I'm currently standing in this line right now I've already been here for about 5 to six minutes and Only moved maybe 3 feet. The tellers want to converse more than they want to work. Chase do something about this, your fees are not worth it!!! read more

Looking at the past reviews, I would say it's a little better for customer service. But there's still room for improvement. The Chase Bank from inside gets a little cramped especially since there are all these unnecessary cubicles. I don't really see a need for more than 3. Merced isn't that big of a town in my opinion. Open spaces look more inviting is what I'm trying to say. I have only gone in once, but I will say that the teller I had was okay. I had two things to do: deposit a check and change my ATM debit card pin. She was only able to deposit my check but not change my pin. I don't know why I couldn't be referred to a different teller for all my necessities. Because she was definitely going to send me in back of the line in order for me to change my pin. A little ridiculous since someone could have gone in my place and I could have waited for a more competent teller. I guess I'll never know. read more

Moved account from Bank of America to Chase in March and it they have always been professional and helpful! employees are friendly and go the extra mile to help their customers. Had a problem on my account and the teller who helped me was extremely useful in helping to solve the issue. It was regarding recurring payments that I never would have known about if he didn't mention it. It caused me to overdraft and he was not only able to order me a new card and stop the fraud people from continuing to take my money he also took the time to show me how to use the app and the features it has so I can be notified of purchases and know my balance at the click of a button without having to show up to the bank. I am not very savvy with using phone so his patience and commitment to protect me and educate me is very much appreciated! Thank you so much Baberto! You Rock! All employees there actually make an actual effort and commitment to their customers and when I go to the bank all interactions feel genuine and I sincerely feel that they really do care for their me. I own and operate a small business in Merced. Upon arriving Saturday 9:45 AM, to deposit cash and checks, I find the branch closed! A notice is posted that a client can travel to Madera, Turlock or Modesto, to take care of their banking needs!!!! Pathetic. I can't use my ATM card to make a deposit because I don't have one. I'm a grown-up, I have cash back credit cards, I have NEVER used an ATM card. Also, only fools would dump a thousand dollars into an ATM!!!! I have 3 home loans, 4 different Chase credit cards and 4 Chase checking accounts. They may have just lost a customer!!! Been banking at this location, for 40 years!!!!!! read more

Seriously, if you're looking to open an account, don't go to chase. Or at least go to one where the employees are knowledgeable and willing to help. Chase definitely is the worst bank to bank with and still does banking the stone age way. What is worse online reps are ill informed and pathetic. Picture this: You are travelling thousands of miles outside US say in Asia (china, India) or Africa and you decide to pay your friend using chase person to person quickpay. You add your friend and he creates his quick pay account, adds his non chase bank account to his quick pay profile waits for3 days for security deposits and then verifies his bank account and you are ready for transfer. You take caution and call chase customer care get yourself identified and inform them that you are about to make a quick pay transfer. Chase rep assures you that all is well. You do the transfer and chase promptly lock you out from online bankng, locks down your friends quick pay account and cancels the transfer. After that they insist that both of us need to physically go to a chase branch in US to regain access to our money or we can just close our accounts. What is worse they don't even try to help and just say there is no way out. Talk about global banking huh!!!. read more

I have been banking at this branch for over 10 years and it has sunk to the lowest level of service i have ever seen in a bank. They have replaced three tellers with atms that make slot machine noises. The wait for customer service was over 30 minutes and several customers walked out, including us.I and all my sons do our banking there but we had to go down the street to Travis credit union for my sons first car loan. I went with my son to make a $100 deposit in to his own bank account with my intention of TEACHing and to ENCOURAGE him how to save money. They wouldn't take the cash. However, the teller told me to purchase a "money order" which would cost us $5 in order to make a deposit. I have a mortgage account with this bank as well. So to me it doesn't make any sense. The first same incident was when I went to make a cash deposit in to my wife's account. They didn't take the cash. I sort of get that because my wife was not present. But having my son with me to make a cash deposit to his OWN account doesn't make sense. I wish there is such thing as negative star. I will not recommend this bank at all. I'm glad I didn't open an account with this bank. I'm moving my kids to a different bank SOON. read more

If you're looking into speaking with a teller or withdrawing money it's fast. But forget about speaking with an actual banker. The wait is always long and ridiculous. I've had to come back twice to wait for help. Do not reccomend coming to this bank. Atwaters chase is so much better read more

Today I went to my bank (at the Raleys' Supermarket) to inquire on the status of my order for duplicate checks. I had brought my order slip in person approximately two weeks ago. I was informed that they had forgotten to make the order. They stated that they would be happy to give me temporary checks, but if I wanted to get an expedited check order, I would have to pay an additional fee. There was no flexibility. I was very disappointed, especially since this was an error on their part. Had I not gone in to ask, I would still be waiting for my checks. I did decide to get temporary checks, but at another bank. After ten years, it was time to change to another bank. Although courteous, their admitted error caused me from paying bills in a timely manner that I am used too. Nor did I feel that I should have to pay an additional fee to have my checks expedited. For those reasons, I decided to go to a different bank that day. I have no regrets to switching to another bank that same day. The customer service was very indifferent to my situation. read more
