Nothing beside that requested service and perhaps filters should have costed at most under $200 total! This is not the first time they have deceived her into work not needed, yet she goes back "because they are so nice to her." To the owner and general mgr of Chapman Ford: Recognize your customer, who they are, what is actually needed. Honest service and fair pricing would gain you repeat business. Stealing from the elderly or any customer, will continue to perpetuate the bad business reputation you have. The Finance manager, offered me a 3rd party (non-Honda, non-dealer) contract, 7 year, 100k miles program that retailed for $3,500 but he could offer it for $2,400. I told him price was too high for me and he then offered me the same deal for $1,975 and I said I'll think about it. Well I did some internet research and found that I can (and did) buy a Honda America Corporation "Honda Care" program that extends my original warranty to 120k miles and 8 years for $1,257 with $0 deductible. However, the Finance manager never let me know Jones Honda also offers a Honda Care extended warranty program until I asked him about it. He just pushed the 3rd party extended warranty that is way more expensive that gives Jones Honda a lot more profit at my expense. Bottom line, if you are looking for an extended warranty for your new car from Jones Honda definitely ask about their Honda Care extended warranty prices. I also recommend you google "Honda Care" warranties and you will find other dealers with much lower prices as I found. Key point: since this warranty is backed by Honda America Corporation every Honda Dealer in the US is required to honor your Honda Care warranty using genuine Honda parts no matter what dealer you purchase the warranty from. However, I've bought and leased new cars from many other dealerships where I've had a much better experience. In the end, I got the car I wanted within a payment plan that worked for me. To make this happen though, I feel it required a lot of work, flexibility and attention from me. Lots of phone calls and emails back and forth between me and sales with very little respect for my time and work schedule. On 3 separate visits, the cars inside the showroom were very dusty, no excuse when there are idle salesmen gossiping around the sales manager's office. The finance guys were top-notch, worked hard and saved a sale that I otherwise would've walked away from. One caveat here, they will hit your credit multiple times if they have to, to get to a finance term that works. This will lower your credit rating. In my case it occurred because they promised a deal they couldn't really do. They will push an expensive service plan on you at signing. Not saying it's bad, just be ready for it. Vehicle delivery was anticlimactic and rushed. (Screwed up the OnStar transfer from trade-in to new). I drove away feeling "meh" on the experience. They didn't do me any favors and I don't feel like they did anything special or give me a deal I couldn't have received anywhere else. I can't speak to the service which I hear is very good though, I'll report on that in the future. Overall, I continue to love the GM/Chevy product, but there may well be better Chevrolet dealerships around. Update..... Back at Faulkner for the annual inspection and oil change.
