A lot of the delay is the mounds of paperwork that the state requires you to present and fill out. Bottom line is the bad guys don't go into gun shops and complete the legal process so us good folks suffer. I've been in most of the gun shops in the Stanislaus County area as well as the Bay Area. Stage Stop can give them all a run for their money. Great selection. I didn't shoot in the range but I took a look and it's clean and well maintained.
