Our experience the first time brought us back two years later for another renewal. I went over my previous review and all still holds true. Easy online instructions, all documents were completed prior to arriving for class on our scheduled day. Full instructions are explained in the email. The qualifications for shooting on the range also listed on the informational email. Full class this past weekend. Started on time and Sal again was our instuctor. There were 3 more instructors on the range when it came time to qualify. Overall, Defend To Survive gives us current laws, saftey tips and instruction. I felt safe on the range, they pay attention to detail, able to give tips/techniques for safe and accurate shooting. We will continue to use and recommend DTS! read more

This place is great. I just completed my 16 hour initial ccw training. Sal, the classroom instructor kept the class engaged and also brought humor to the curriculum. The owner, Art did the qualifying portion of the training. Art was patient, informative, and very approachable. Overall the class was awesome. I have been shooting for quite a while and Art was able to give me tips to improve my quickness and accuracy. There was a student in the class that was struggling at certain points. Art helped them through their shortcomings and by the end of day their skills improved greatly. I will definitely be going back for my renewal. This past weekend I had my initial 16 hour course with Art and Sal. I have previously taken a 16 hour course with another agency (long story) so I decided to try somewhere else this time. First day was the basic understanding of holding this permit, but Sunday which was range day, was awesome. We learned a lot. Sal took the time and taught us a lot within the span of 6 hours. Art, Sal & Joseph are an awesome group of guys. I took my initial CCW course here in Jan of 2021 & just today (7/30/22) qualified with another firearm for my CCW. In a few months, I will be renewing my permit yet again at DTS. I honestly feel I will be a life long customer as long as the doors are open! The expertise, insight & wisdom these guys have is hard to come by nowadays. Yet, everyone here is down to earth and are extremely approachable when you have questions or concerns. It's my understanding they are now offering a new class for beginners... so they really have everything you need here. Whether you're a newbie when it comes to firearms, or you've been shooting your whole life, there is something here for you. I have been fortunate to not have been in a situation where I have needed to use my firearm to protect myself or my loved ones, but I can attest that through my initial course (both in the classroom and downrange) I have learned skills that could potentially save lives. Great location (the road down to the classroom is always fun to drive), great instructors and a friendly, non-judgmental environment makes this an ideal place to brush up on skills or start from ground zero and work on fundamentals. They also have a pretty cool obstacle course next to the qualifying stations (so be extra nice and see if they'll let you run through it)! I only wish they had more advanced classes because I would definitely sign up. I will be referring all my family, friends and aquatints to DTS. Thanks Art !
