So if I have to pay $1.13 more for a lure here, I'd prefer to do so. What you will get here? VERY knowledgeable service, from competent guys, a majority of whom all fish. Several of the guys here fish the same bodies of water I fish & they gave me some excellent tips. Selection is wide. Service is above the bar. For example; I purchased a spinning reel here. For injured at work, couldn't use it for almost 2yrs. Came here 2yrs later & asked them to help me figure out how to switch it from right hand to left handed reeling. NO PROBLEM. The fella right away said "I see what the issue was" and in less than 2min buddy had this reel set up. It was a user error issue & I overlooked one basic piece. Two years after a purchase & these guys are there to help me figure it out. We buy tackle here regularly & hope to see them remain open. We bypass bass pro most of the time to come here. lol. That kind of personal touch really sets this shop apart. They carry an impressive selection of surf fishing gear, including sand crab rakes, rods, reels, tackle, lures, and a wide variety of lines. They're also well-stocked with live bait, including blood worms--an excellent choice for surf fishing. We also purchased my wife's Okuma Hawaiian Custom surf fishing rod paired with a fully lined Okuma SI 4000 reel from them, and that setup has been instrumental in her success. With it, she's caught many surf perch and even landed her first two halibut in the surf--memories we won't forget anytime soon. They approached me and pressured me into listening to their sales pitch, and it felt like "no" was never an acceptable answer. The entire interaction was uncomfortable and extremely pushy. After signing up, I did more research and realized it wasn't a good investment for me, so I canceled months ago. Unfortunately, the unwanted contact hasn't stopped. I continue to receive spam calls, and when I tell them I'm not interested, they often end the call abruptly only to call again a few days later. It's become incredibly frustrating. Bass Pro Shops should reconsider allowing this kind of aggressive sales tactic inside their stores. Customers come to shop, not to feel pressured into vacation ownership presentations or deal with persistent calls long after they've declined. Because of this experience, I no longer plan to shop at Bass Pro Shops. It's disappointing that one partnership has negatively affected what used to be an enjoyable place to visit.
