I contacted over a dozen FFLs in and around the San Jose area to perform a simple PPT for myself and another party. Many FFLs were refusing to do PPTs and were using COVID regulations as an excuse. It was incredibly disheartening to see how many LICENSED firearms dealers were just straight up ignorant of the law or were lying because private party transfers do not make the shops a lot of money. There were a few good ones who were incredibly busy and could not fit me in within the time frame that I needed (shoutout to Far West and UG Imports). After a very frustrating week of trying to find a local FFL to process a simple PPT, I agreed to meet the seller at Eclipse Firearms and Training about halfway between us as a last resort and I'm so glad that we did. The staff at Eclipse Firearms and Training were warm, friendly, and knowledgeable. We were able to process our paperwork quickly and without issue. If Eclipse were closer to home they would be my primary FFL without a doubt. If it were not for Eclipse our transaction would have fell through, thank you for helping us avert our mini disaster.
