Was getting furniture for a new home in the area and like many i visited the big box stores but was unimpressed. Slaters had a great selection and they were really helpful in being open and transparent around timing. Immediately when we walked in, Karen Spieker not only acknowledged us, but helped us pick out an amazing couch. Karen was friendly and knowledgeable. She was patient and so professional. She was AMAZING. Less than a week later, we had our couch delivered and the drivers were so professional and respectful. My mom wanted to update some pieces of furniture around her house. We returned to Slater's because we had such a great experience a couple of years ago. Karen, our salesperson, was able to help find the perfect pieces that we needed. The leather loveseat arrived the following day, right on schedule! I was looking for a couch and since they mentioned it was a local company with 4 to 6 weeks delivery window I signed the contract. That was on September 2nd. I am still waiting because the fabric it on backorder. I am very disappointed and do not recommend this company. They did not have the courtesy to call or offer me a discount. I'm surprised at all the good reviews, because the salesperson was snobbish and rude and quoted me such a surprising amount for a simple wooden dresser and nightstand that I went home and googled their prices. I found that the dresser sells for 50% less ($2300 vs. $3800) and the nightstand sells for nearly 70% less ($1015 vs. $1680) at many stores. I don't think the pricing was the fault of the salesperson because the dresser was tagged for $700 MORE, but I highly recommend researching the going price for any items before buying from there. read more

I ordered a couch on July 8th, 2019, that was on sale. Richard was very helpful in assisting me in the selection of fabric for the couch and throw pillows. He had a lot of great ideas. There was a huge selection of fabrics. I also signed up for a payment plan at 0% interest for a year. It took eight weeks for the couch to be constructed down in LA and today it came. The delivery men were very careful and respectful. This couch is nice and deep , and if you had to, it would serve nicely as a twin bed. It was rather a long wait for the couch to come but, I knew that on the front end. I'm quite happy with my purchase. This is the second couch I've ordered from Slater's in the last 2 years. read more

This is a high end quality furniture store. The sales representative, Liz, is very friendly and very helpful. You can pick/create your own colors and styles for just about any of their sofas and anything that has cloth on it. You can even customize and choose a shape/design for the longer/bigger sofas. They offer 6 months financing with 0% interest upon approved credit. Ask them for the clearance sections and they will work with you on pricing, including/excluding certain furnitures. Great service, went above and beyond to make sure the furniture we ordered met our needs and was the quality we expected.

As long as I live in Merced, this will be my furniture store! Great company, great business ethics, great service. My fiance and I bought a flexsteel couch and after less than a year, the head cushions started peeling. We called the store and they came out to take photos. We were baffled because we had explicitly asked to make sure there was no bonded leather on the couch. They wanted to repair the pieces but were unable to do so and offered us either $500 cash or the original cost of our couch toward another. I have never had a company just offer me cash for an old couch! We opted to get a new couch from them because their service is so customer oriented. We chatted with several of the company employees and they helped us find a new couch. We might even go back for more pieces. I find them to be a little pricey, but they are selling high quality furniture, worth the money and definitely worth it for their care in making sure you are happy with your purchase for years to come. If we had spent half as much on a cheap couch from a national retailer, it would have long become uncomfortable and we wouldn't be getting any sort of deal to replace it. So glad to have such a friendly and appreciative company in Merced. read more

Slater's has earned my family's loyalty. My wife and I purchased a Jonathan Louis couch where we selected the layout, couch fabric, and pillow fabric. It was an easy process and their Shanna was very knowledgeable about the different options. It took around 6 weeks for the couch to arrive (since it was custom made). After the couch arrived, we encountered a few problems. First, one of the pillow cushions didn't match our order. No big deal - they ordered the correct one and told us to keep the incorrect one. They didn't charge to fix this mistake. The second issue was when we started using the couch. One section starting creaking whenever anyone moved the slightest amount. We were disappointed we were going to be stuck with a squeaky couch for the next 10+ years. We called Slater's and described the situation to the owner. He sent out a crew a day later to pick up the couch to take back to their warehouse to diagnose and correct. They found a few screws were loose inside the frame. They returned the couch the next day after fixing the issue. They didn't charge us to correct this issue. The customer service involved with this purchase was excellent. We have gone back to Slater's a few more times for other furniture and have been very happy with each experience. read more

First time in Slater's Furniture Store in Merced. Very nice selection and great quality for the price. We decided on purchasing a kitchen table with six chairs. This table set looks great in our kitchen area and it even matches our floor color. The staff were very attentive in helping you find what your looking for.
