I'm writing a review because I was not happy with how my hair turned out at this salon. I was going to an uptown posh salon for a while and couldn't afford to pay $450 for a colour, root touch up and cut. Save for the fact that I liked my stylist at that salon, I just couldn't justify paying these L.A. prices for this town. So I decided to go here thinking it wouldn't be as much $$ and I got a quote over the phone and it was an ok price and decided to book. When I got there I explained to the stylist what I wanted (blonde face framing foils and a root touch up for my grays - which i mentioned I had over the phone but was apparently brand new information). They told me it would be $230 because of all these 'treatments' they added on that were going to be soooo good for my hair. I shouldn't have said ok to those but here we are. I literally had 9? Maybe 10 foils put in my hair. And my grays covered but more on that layer. I was there for over three hours, left with paying just shy of $300, including a 20% tip. I hate when stylists ask if you like it. Like how about give me a minute so I can assess it in a different light (was dark out by the time I left). Not to mention I need to wash it a few times and THEN I'll let you know how it is. Well, turns out I have red/orange hair when I asked for blonde. And the grays showed after about a week. My hair has been processed/highlighted for about ten years, so stylists, spare me the whole 'oh you're hair is a level 2 and it will lift red at first'. Because I've heard it all before and believe it or not I've had stylists lift me to a level 7 or 8 and not have brassy red hair! So I'd be ok with this shit job hair if it didn't cost me $300. But I just cannot justify this and I messaged the stylist privately on Instagram to explain it and say hey I don't like this - See what you can do. But I haven't had a response. And frankly, I'm sick and tired of paying these prices for getting your hair coloured. Sorry, but you can't be charging doctor and lawyer rates for a flipping hair colour and cut. I was trying to be discreet about it and figured they would try to make it right but no bueno. So now I'm box colouring my hair and I'm saving a lot of money and anger and rage because of it. read more
