We didn't get the room we paid for and when I said something, she said, that room was blocked off and I mentioned Marriott, her response was "We are not a Marriott, we just let you earn points". She did call around 10:00pm, while we were in bed, and said she could move us to a bigger room. We were already sleeping . The room we got was extremely dark, with old furniture and paint chipping. The bartender in the bar, said he cold make anything, then didn't have what I wanted. Gave me a substitute liquor, which was not even close and made me sick. The continental breakfast was scones, packets of oatmeal, some fruit and some dry cereal. Bad Coffee and 10 tea bags, none of which I would ever drink. They consider this an artsy boutique type of hotel, I felt like we were on "Skid Row". Marriott should cut ties!!!

Our room was spotless, the bed was SUPER comfortable, and the charming decor gave everything such a cozy, homey feel. The entire property was so quiet and peaceful, making it the perfect romantic getaway for couples! It's such a lovely place to escape the everyday hustle and bustle, relax, and enjoy some quality time together. It was also beautifully decorated for fall, which made it even more inviting! The views from the hot tub were absolutely amazing, and the staff couldn't have been friendlier or more helpful. We also loved having a complimentary breakfast right on the property. Such a nice touch! And can we talk about their homemade haircare products and body wash?! We loved them so much that we actually purchased some to bring home! This property is truly a GEM! The balconies were so nice as they were very private; we stayed in room 1, which had probably the most privacy. So private that we felt we could leave our curtains and blinds open most of the time. It had beautiful views (though room 1's balcony view was partially blocked by trees, but there was still a beautiful view). We didn't use the hot tub since it's summer, but the pool was very nice and clean with a stunning mountaintop view as well. Breakfast was simple but well done. There's always coffee available. Every room is decorated beautifully. The balance of old and new was perfect - helpful technologies such as the Roku TV and touchpad locking door, but also a charming old building with clean and modern-yet-vintage decor. The Enchanted Forest soap, which is stocked in every bathroom, smells so good too! And best of all, it was affordable for us. We will be back for another getaway and are even looking into other Timberroot properties to try out in the area.

This was a joke as any guest could walk and use the facilities, it felt like a cash grab but not a true privacy perk. We could have not spent this extra money and still used the sauna and hot tubs after hours, I believe. We had the pizza dinner and it was fine, there were no vegetable options to put on our pizza. We observed the sauna overheat to the point of contacting maintenance. There is not a single staff on premise for such emergency. I chatted with what seemed like an AI bot to convince them of the emergency nature, and the sauna was shut down the following day. It took them over 30 minutes to respond to our needs. My partner was slightly burned on their arm and despite informing the property manager, we never received any form of check in with a real person. No financial returns for this lack of amenity. There was a child on premise while we were there. She looked to be inside a work truck? But the girl stared me down and it really ruined the "adults only" resort feel they went for. There is not true privacy here, anyone can see you at anytime it feels. This was disappointing as we were hoping for more privacy and to get away from others. The domes seem to have it worse than the floating mirror cabin. Overall it was a seemingly nice stay, but that is because of our ability to make the best out of anything. There are not guards rails or safety protocols along hiking trails and it's a miracle someone has not been seriously injured at this property. They actively tried to gain another booking before we even checked out. It feels like a place that only cares about their bottom line and money. We will not return. We felt we could spend less money than we did here, even abroad, at a nicer adult only resort.

Three nights of quiet, a perfectly renovated room, and a real sense of being somewhere intentional rather than just somewhere to sleep. He picked well. I stayed in the Flower Power room and it's exactly what the name promises without tipping into kitsch. The owners clearly cared about the details: the vintage pieces are the real thing, the bathroom is genuinely beautiful, the bed is incredibly comfortable, and everything you actually need is there (Keurig, smart TV with Netflix, fast wifi). Even the mini fridge looks vintage, and I appreciated that it had a separate little freezer. It's a 1959 motel that's been brought back with restraint and taste, which is rare. A few things that made it worth every dollar (and the price is more than reasonable for what you get): Your reservation includes a Cloudland Canyon State Park pass, which is a lovely touch. The park is about 10 minutes away and I spent a slow afternoon doing the overlook walks and having a picnic at one of the rim spots. The outdoor courtyard back at the motel was its own little perk in the evening, with a fire going and a great spot to sit with a drink. Trenton is an easy 90 minutes from Huntsville and only about 25 minutes from Chattanooga, so it works as a true getaway without being a haul. For dinner, Lookout Mountain Pizza Company in Rising Fawn is a short drive up the mountain and well worth it. Quiet, clean, charming, and run by people who clearly love what they've built. We stayed in the Midnight room, and loved the extremely comfortable bed (a King-size firm memory foam), beautiful decor, and hot tub in the room! All three mornings, we loved our elaborate breakfast (see attached photos; forgot to take a photo on the 3rd morning because we were too excited about chocolate chip pancakes); the staff/owners were also incredibly friendly and easy to talk to. In addition to this, it's the perfect location to be close to tourist attractions such as Rock City and Ruby Falls, but far out enough to be away from the hustle and bustle of the city. We definitely want to come back another time when the weather is better and we're able to take advantage of all the outdoor seating and picnic-like areas between the rooms, as well as the pool and jacuzzi! 10/10 would recommend to anyone who asked! P.S. they also have an adorable and friendly beagle who loves to be loved on!
