The property itself was exactly as described, if not better. It was clean, cozy, and lovingly decorated, with thoughtful touches like fresh honey from their apiary that made it feel special. The location was perfect- great access to Rock City at Lookout Mountain, Ruby Falls and Cloud Land Canyon, and the property is this wonderful tiny house with lots of amenities, perfect for the 4 of us, set back in the woods, very peaceful and quiet at night. The bed was super comfortable, and after a day of hiking the canyon, we slept beautifully. Matthew's Tabby cat was very sweet and we enjoyed he company. Their dog was also fun and our youngest enjoyed playing fetch with him. Matthew and his wife shared their passion for bee keeping with our kids which was cool - they enjoyed learning about all things bees. Matthew and his wife even made up a scavenger hunt for our 2 little ones which was so very kind of them. Overall, Matthew and his wife went above and beyond to ensure we had an amazing experience. It felt like the Rosebud Motel--they put a lot of work into making this place nice. It's generally centrally located from the grocery stores, fast food and restaurants, and shopping. Only about a 20 minute drive to all of the Chattanooga sites. If you're on a budget, I certainly recommend! Limited breakfast: waffles, yogurt, muffins, cereal and the like. Staff weren't always at the front desk but never more than 20 minutes when the service bell was rung.

We stumbled upon this sweet gem while planning our trip to TN. While we originally planned on only…read moregoing to Nashville, we booked two nights here as a side trip and happy we did. It's located on Lookout Mountain, which has a ton of historic significance and we enjoyed learning more at the National Park. Rock City is across the street from the Inn and it was also interesting to stroll through. The Inn itself is quaint and cozy. The main building has a few guest rooms but most are in cottages dotted around the property. Ours was sweet and the bed comfy. Our only issue was the TV cable didn't work and wasn't repaired during our trip. The jetted tub also didn't have functioning hot water and it would've taken too long to fill using the shower, so it went unused. Both of these items would've been much welcomed following a very long travel day from the west coast. Overall very nice.

The balconies were so nice as they were very private; we stayed in room 1, which had probably the most privacy. So private that we felt we could leave our curtains and blinds open most of the time. It had beautiful views (though room 1's balcony view was partially blocked by trees, but there was still a beautiful view). We didn't use the hot tub since it's summer, but the pool was very nice and clean with a stunning mountaintop view as well. Breakfast was simple but well done. There's always coffee available. Every room is decorated beautifully. The balance of old and new was perfect - helpful technologies such as the Roku TV and touchpad locking door, but also a charming old building with clean and modern-yet-vintage decor. The Enchanted Forest soap, which is stocked in every bathroom, smells so good too! And best of all, it was affordable for us. We will be back for another getaway and are even looking into other Timberroot properties to try out in the area.

We needed a place to stay in Chattanooga, Tennessee, since we were planning to go white water…read morerafting on the Ocoee the next day. I found this hotel while looking on hotels.com. It looked quaint, which was what I was looking for. After scrolling through the pictures, and deciding on which room to book, we stayed there for one night. Upon arriving, I have to say, the pictures that were online did not do it justice! It was so cute! The accommodations in room nine was a king bed that had a couch that pulled out and made a sofa bed, if needed, and a nice big bathroom. The towels were very plush. We went in the pool, and the hot tub. We were also very shocked to find they had laundry machines that you could use, for $.25! And they provided the soap for you. Well, that would not have been a dealbreaker, but it was a really cute touch. They had a great little gathering room, that we didn't take advantage of, but we had looked at it and it was very nice. They also offered a breakfast the next morning. Unfortunately, we were not able to participate in that, since we had to get on the road to drive one hour for our Whitewater rafting trip. All in all, this was a great find! I would definitely recommend this hotel to family and friends, not to mention, we plan on coming back when we can stay longer. Loved this place!!

To be honest I was a little nervous about booking this because I didn't know how comfortable it would be. So here is how it went - I received text messages prior to my arrival asking if we needed the trundle bed made, I responded and even got a thank you response back. Upon arrival we were greeted by an energetic, friendly young lady with a huge smile. ANISLEY was a ray of sunshine and welcomed us so sincerely. She asked if we were celebrating anything special - told her it was my husbands birthday and she gave us all kinds of recommendations for places to eat , things to do and the icecream place that shouldn't be missed. Some of the recommendations even offered discounts when we showed our hotel card. We were very pleased with the size of our room - beautifully decorated, already cooled down for us and almost everything we could think of was available in the room. The bathroom was spacious and I have to say the shower water pressure was the strongest new have ever had in a hotel - what a shock. We had a great time walking around the area and had dinner and icecream within walking distance and finished the night playing cornrow and laying on a hammock stargazing. When we checked out ANISLEY asked how our stay was and remembered we were celebrating a birthday and asked how everything went. After leaving i realized I left my phone charger and called to see if they could find it. ANISLEY once again with her amazing customer service called me to let me know they had it for me at the front desk.... This young lady made our visit very memorable and we loved the train car experience- we highly recommend it! The only thing we could recommend is the use of a top sheet on the bed - seems like lots of hotels use just the comforter and it's too heavy for us. Two honest heads-ups: the train cars have no central AC and the steel exterior heats up in the sun, though the oscillating fan cools things down fine once the sun sets, and the bed was too soft for us, we sank right in. Nancy brought us to our room named "the view" , which was a cozy wood paneled space that, from our semi private deck, lived up to its name. After an amazing dinner at the Wildflower we retired to our room and comfortable bed for a great night sleep. In the morning we went up for a fantastic breakfast and some wonderful conversation with the others who are staying here. I'm really sad to leave but this has been a great, memorable way to spend my wife and my 10th wedding anniversary. BTW, the other folks who we had breakfast with are looking at property here in Mentone if that is any indication of the beauty of this place.
