Piano Movers Plus

We used Piano Movers Plus to move my 82 year old Mother in Law from a 3000 sf home to a 1700 sf…read morehome. The downsizing was not easy for her but the staff at this company were so helpful, kind, patient and considerate. Karen the estimator was outstanding, very thoughtful and patient. Our movers, Louis, Christian and Logan were very careful with her expensive leather furniture and 7' grandfather clock. Our move went very smoothly, no damage at all. They were also very helpful at her new home in rearranging her living room furniture until she had it just right. We are also using this company in February to move our household. This is a great company and I highly recommend them, especially if you have fine furnishings and hard to move items like her clock.

I also had them move the rest of his furniture and possessions, with which they handled as carefully also. I cannot speak highly enough of the 3 young gentlemen that were there. Ethan, Swann, and Joe were nothing less than efficient, courteous and very professional. If ever I need movers again, I will it hesitate to contract them. I also would like to give props to Karen the office manager. As I had to make this move on short notice and she accommodated my schedule with no hiccups.

Here's what I got... LOVE the guitar, the paint is beautiful, feels great, incredible color... love…read moreit... However... ALL CORRESPONDENCE WAS INITIATED BY ME either asking about how the process was going or if it was ready. (He quoted on the phone so I can't prove it, a 6+ week turn around... that was February... hence, reaching out in March to see how far along it might be due to my excitement - shame on me - ... hell, let's TRIPLE that number even if I was terribly mistaken, to18 weeks, which should have put it mid-MAY... didn't get it back until AUGUST). - Feb 2nd he received the shipped guitar after lengthy phone chats about what I wanted. Paid in full. - March 3rd, said "6+ weeks out." - April 15th, said "next week completion date." - May 8th, said "a week before I can finish and box and ship." ("Running behind.") - June 5th, said "about ready to box and ship." ("On vacation.") - July 11th said "Out of work this week, hurt my leg and twisted my ankle last weekend on the lake. I'm confident I will be back in the shop and be able to finish this up and get it out next week. Also, keep in mind it is not unusual for turnaround time to be 4+ months." - July 30th, said "most likely shipped out tomorrow." - August 5th, had to ask for the tracking (he had shipped it and never sent me the tracking until I asked... just wanted to make sure someone was home when it arrived). - Arrived a few days later... Again, BEAUTIFUL work (except for the small chip on the top/back that happened sometime AFTER he made a video for youtube.... maybe that happened in transit to be fair... who knows? It was there when I opened the case... doesn't bother me...) So, how many "next weeks" did we have total in the 6 month time period? THREE times. One time AFTER he said "about ready to box and ship" implying it was almost done. AFTER he quoted me a MUCH smaller turn around time on the phone (again, as mentioned above, I thought he said 6+ weeks which is why I reached out a month later on March 3rd to see how it was going, but I can't prove he said that on the phone... hence, let's just triple that time to 18 weeks to be fair to him... which still should have put it in May... it's AUGUST). If you look at his Better Business Bureau ratings/reviews, this is the story time and again. Also look at the quality of his work... IT'S SUPER SWEET. Look at the other Yelp and Google reviews, this story happens a lot, there always seems to be something (I saw reviews that mentioned medical, tornados, etc... poor sop has some awful luck) to put him behind schedule. So, if you can deal with him getting behind, some sort of personal disaster, and him giving a bit of attitude and snark for being called out on it, by all means, give him a go... I tend to not appreciate condescending attitudes when a precious instrument that may either be very valuable either with the money invested or sentimentality is in the hands of the person being snarky... Look at his responses to ALL of his lower ratings and decide for yourself the tone of his response. I'm glad I took a chance, I just think his customer service is severely lacking. Did he lie? Did he make stuff up? Who knows... let's even say he's telling the truth... but it seems that this has happened time and again to many of his clients. Turn around time isn't realistic, no updates unless YOU reach out, delays, excuses/reasons "ankle, behind, vacation, etc." So take that for what it is worth. So, whatever turnaround time he tells you up front, document that and then triple it. So, conclusion? LOVE the paint job... finally have my purple guitar that I always wanted. So, if you can deal with delays, real or not, and attitude, go for it. Read all the reviews AND HIS RESPONSES and decide for yourself if you want to work with him. He'll tell you you don't understand the nature of the industry, and put you at fault on EVERY point, and remind you of all the work he has and has done... the one common thing among all the bad reviews is him saying one turnaround time, and keeping your instrument for MONTHS past that time.

My order took over twice the quoted timeline. He sends a work order then tells you to email him if anything else is needed so he can update the work order, then doesn't update the work order. He ignore obvious flaws in a guitar that any pro would question and bring to the attention of the customer. I was sent back a guitar with a screw hole on the bottom of the guitar that has zero use or logic where it was drilled. Anyone else would have questioned it. It was brought up prior to Sims receiving the guitar and he acknowledged fixing the hole and sent it back completely finished with a hole still in it. Beware

I think this company is more like a bunch of college students who happen to have a truck. If you've got cheap used furniture, this is the company for you. But if you've got expensive antiques, get a professional moving company instead. Not recommended.
