I was looking for a good Boba tea and I used Yelp to help me find a place. This place came up about a mile or two away from H-E-B so I pulled up on it. I think it must be a part of their weekend first opening. When I walked in, I noticed that it was colorful and commercial looking. The cashier was having trouble taking my order and asking the manager all of the questions. I assumed he was just in training. The menu was so overwhelming that it didn't seem like anything I've been used to in terms of Boba tea shops. The staff had no idea what I was ordering, which became a red flag for me. I noticed as they mixed it, it looked like they had no idea what they were doing in terms of making this drink. I began to realize that someone is possibly capitalizing off of the culture. This shop is very commercial and doesn't really capture what a good Boba drink should taste like. I've been chewing on the jelly for longer than necessary, and I've wondered if this was Remotely close to the same jelly that they use. The team lead/manager was sweaty and looking overwhelmed. I realized the AC wasn't blowing away. It should and that he was hot, possibly the only person who knows how to run the place. Saw the advertisement for the soft opening of the establishment and figured why not. Location is close and a free drink. Can't go wrong with that. Got there around 12:10 and there were only a few people in line at that time. Maybe 30 so I figured that was a good sign thinking maybe the line was going quickly since we're literally just mixing up some drinks. 2 HOURS LATER...we got our turn and finally got inside in air conditioning. Hallelujah! They graciously had a balloon artist there giving out custom balloon art to the kiddos and adults if you asked. Looks like they did at one point have cold waters in a cooler but they were gone by the time we reached the front area. Got to order our free drink and the catch was it had to be a signature drink which limits the options tremendously but you don't realize that until you are told...looking back at the coupon, it does say that but the kind gentleman at the register helped us figure out a way to order our baby a strawberry fruit drink. Although it was super busy, the service and owners are super friendly. We will definitely have to come back to check them out when it's calmer. The brown sugar milk drink was great with half ice and no tea. Strawberry and cookies and cream were a little on the watery side. Cookies and cream definitely should be more on the creamier side so I'm not sure if perhaps because it was chaotic that it was not made right. Give this place a chance! The manager was so kind to make sure we knew about the BOGO special and the drinks were delicious! The premium boba milk tea at 50% sugar was really good. Egg pudding topping was great too. It was clean and looked cute inside. Will be back again! read more

I came in today at around 2:30 pm and didn't leave until 3:20. For starters, it's unfortunate that someone called in sick last minute. It is even more unfortunate that the other employee on shift was left to work by themselves. There was one guy working and he could not take orders because he was alone. There were around 11 people at the time I was there, only the kiosks could be used. It was infuriating sitting there watching this young man struggle. I would rather the store be closed temporarily while another employee arrived to help, than to see someone so visibly very stressed and flustered. I feel bad for him. The drinks * 1 16 oz Assam mt w/ half ice + boba + crystal boba: It was okay. Watery. Nothing really satisfying. * 1 16 oz Thai tea w/ half ice + boba + coconut jelly: The coconut jelly was missing so I informed the employee. The cup was opened and the coconut jelly was added, and cup was attempted to be resealed. I actually have worked at a boba shop before, and you cannot reseal a cup, and you need the pour the drink into a new unused cup and seal that new cup. The result was very messy, but I do not blame the employee given his current overstimulating situation. The thai tea itself had an odd taste but i couldn't tell what exactly was wrong with it. * 1 16 oz Thai tea w/ boba + lychee jelly. I placed this order a bit after the first order. I was in a bit in a rush to leave at this point and didn't notice there was no lychee jelly added. Also, the thai tea looks lumpy?? It's like they use a powder thai tea mix instead of the standard actual brewed thai tea with half and half. I realize now why the Thai tea tasted so off. The prices: For the smallest size possible with 2 toppings I paid around $8 for each drink. I'm not happy with my purchase. It's honestly overpriced for something lacking in quality. I'm really unhappy. I spent nearly $30 for unfortunately mediocre tea. IF this is not a one-time issue and actually is common with this shop, I would kindly recommend that management pushes back the grand opening date and does some serious reflection on how they treat their employees and how to properly prepare them for a busy environment, as well as the quality of their products. read more

Have been here 4 times and my milk teas are always the best tasting ones I have had without having to drive to Bellaire for authentic Taiwanese tea. The manager is always kind and looking out after the clients and his team. read more

I was so excited to have a new tea house near my home because I typically drive a bit further to get boba. So when I tried the drink I was extremely disappointed. First off almost $7 for the smallest tea cups I've ever seen is disrespectful. And the tea had so little flavor. This place is the Walmart of tea houses. I feel so bad for the employees because they are going to be getting earfuls from other patrons. Was excited there's a new boba place up north, but..Needs a major improvement on quality of drinks. Bought 3 drinks with sugar level 75% (2) 50% (1)...oh goodness all 3 was super, especially the 50% tasted like 100%. Did not finished any of the 3. So sad.. on top of that the cups were disappointing. Same price as other places yet smaller cup. read more

Cha Time Boba is so good. I go here a lot with my friends and the drinks always hittting. The boba is soft and sweet and the workers are chill. It is just a good place to hang out and get something tasty. read more
