Very friendly staff. Stopped here on our day trip and very glad we did. Beautiful, relaxing vibe sipping some wine.

Cute little winery! I'm a red wine kind of girl so I went with the Vitner! But don't worry, they have rose and white wine available too! Buuuttt....the Vitner is very flavorful! They have a meat and cheese board and outdoor sitting only. Kid and dog friendly. They have their own parking area as well. Bathrooms are available and cute merch such as coasters, blankets etc. Staff was very friendly and definitely a good place to "unwine." So if your passing through the area..make sure to stop by!

Had a great time there! The Chardonnay (both steel and oak) is very delicious. Very nice artisan bread- we had one with olive and another with raisins.

Excellent vineyard and overall wine experience. The only thing holding back from 5 stars is that I'm more of a red drinker and being summer and they were white heavy. Even so, I found a few I really liked. Chatham's story begins...35 million years ago (work with me here), when a meteor strike created what would become the Chesapeake bay. The vineyard's location buffered between the Atlantic and Chesapeake can be described as a trade-off of different conditions, as it never get's the heat a California-type vineyard gets, but at the same time it never gets particularly cold. The result is a terroir friendly to a lot of grapes, especially those who like mineral-rich whites. Today, they have 20 acres of vines and make around 5000 cases/year. I arrived early on a Friday and had the place to myself. The manor home is historic, although the owner's live there. White wines across the board were light and refreshing, often with nice minerality to them. I especially liked the 2017 Chardonnay, fermented in steel. The rose was a nice pinkish color. But a not-distant 3rd favorite was their French oak Chardonnay - it was a perfect example of how to get the most out of your oak barrels but not over-doing it.

I don't even know where to start. The beginning I suppose. So, it was my birthday and my husband wanted to spoil me by taking me to an amusement park, well with my heavy research I found out it wouldn't even be opening until March, so with time running out and my birthday sneaking up on us, I thought "Why don't we do a wine tasting?" About 5 minutes later I came across Chatham. I was impressed but then afraid it was going to be a bit pricy. That's when I found out about the Wine & Oyster event. I knew we just had to go then. We did a wine tasting and we did the oysters. We got an extra pound of them and we don't regret it at all. The Bayside and Seaside Eastern Shore Oysters were to die for. The wine hit it out of the park. 2. The oysters here were spot on! Fresh and delicious. I don't think you will find better oysters anywhere. I really have nothing bad to say about this place. We were a little bummed that they were sold out of their steel chardonnay but you can't blame them, it's a hit! We ended up purchasing their Rosé (our second favorite). We for sure will be coming back sooner rather than later I can say that with confidence.

three glasses of red wine and a cheese board

Great wine and really cool location. Conveniently located on our drive up the coast, only about 10 min out of the way. The staff was really nice and friendly and the history of the place was neat.

Tasty wines! Barely any sitting room inside so it's best to go on a nice day where you can enjoy the outside seating.

Even the ride there set the tone it was scenic & peaceful, and full of wide-open fields that felt like a refreshing change. It was the kind of drive that makes you slow down and just enjoy the moment. Once we arrived, the winery itself was stunning bold, beautiful. The wine selection was impressive, and I loved getting to explore different flavors. I figured out which wines I enjoy most, which ones aren't for me, and felt like I had a truly immersive first-time tasting experience. The staff at Summer Wind were amazing knowledgeable, friendly, and patient in answering my questions. Although I didn't get to order food this time, I saw plates coming out of the kitchen that looked absolutely delicious, so that's definitely on my list for next visit. I enjoyed myself so much that I'd love to make this a yearly tradition around this time of year. Summer Wind Winery gave me not just great wine, but a great memory, and I'll absolutely be back.

Incredible experience, and I would highly recommend for a special night out. Our server fully…read moreexplained the menu options. There was more than enough food for four people. We started with the cheese board and the crab dip. ( more bread or crackers for the crab and cheese board would have been nice) We moved on to the cheese fondue with one skewer of protein per person. 2 chicken and two scallops. My son found the chicken cooked enough, I found it a tad undercooked. The cheese fondue was very good, but I think it was "split" giving it a slightly lumpy texture. There were plenty of potatoes and veggies for four on the platter. We HAD to have dessert, but as stuffed as we were , we ordered for 2. There was more than enough for 4. The melted chocolate was divine!!! We all loved it and will be back again. It was a wonderful evening.

It was not clear on the website when making reservations that the menus posted were not for the igloos. Even items we asked about on the menus provided were not available (menu said available until 3 pm in igloo, it was 200 but still told no- yet we also couldn't get the steak or rockfish in the igloo. As well, previous igloo visit options provided fondue for 2 (not 5!) and could be altered for one meat and one seafood eater however this time we would've had to at $240 to get both. At minimum $120+$10-$12 extra to add one skewer. Although the ambiance is an "experience" it was not a satisfying culinary experience. As well, it was not clear we couldn't divide our checks up amongst each couple as most all restaurants can do. (Can only do 2 checks, we had 3 couples) It was more cumbersome on the waitress and us than just charging each couple one bill, we weren't sharing food or said put half this on each etc. it was clearly just 3 couples. As for what we did get... if crab dip hadn't had a shell in it I wouldn't have believed it had any crab in it, just cheese flavor. Steak skewer was well done (no choice given) yet veggies were aldente (to say the least). Wine was good but limited selection. I really don't understand why I can eat one think inside yet can't 20' away we would've had a much better experience if some accommodating had been offered on any of the above issues.

I hate going to a winery and not enjoying half the wines because what they say they are, are nothing like how they taste. That is not the case here at all! Debbie also labeled our flight tray, so there was no confusion over which wine was which. As far as the atmosphere, it was early on a Saturday afternoon and there was only one other couple there when we arrived, but more folks came in while we were enjoying our wine. We sat outside and enjoyed a beautiful day, but there is indoor seating and it is very nice and clean. Debbie (owner) was very friendly and informative about the wines. We did not try the snacks as we had had a large breakfast, so I can't comment on those. We bought 4 bottles of wine, which I felt were reasonably priced $15-$25 with a discount for amount spent, which was unexpected but nice. We will definitely return.

The grapes are a bit younger (oldest vines about five years) so the flavors are sharp and punchy. There drinkable now but also will age well. They have quite a variety on the tasting menu - from port style, whites and reds. We had a great tasting experience with one of the owners and felt comfortable sitting and drinking wine after our wine tasting. No snacks yet, but they are planning on getting.

From the very first pour, we could tell the tasting was going to be generous and by the time we reached our eighth glass, we were definitely feeling tipsy. LOL We especially appreciated how the Winery has crafted its offerings over decades: from its historic vineyard on the Wessex Hundred estate to its reputation for elegant Virginia wines made with a strong sense of place. They offer reds, whites, dessert wines, and more. Along with our tasting, we did enjoy the charcuterie box. Now i will say that box was not worth the $22 paid. Everything was delicious inside; it was just the portion was tiny. In short, it felt like the perfect holiday outing: relaxing, indulgent, and charming. Also, the decor there was so cute and i loved all the Christmas decorations. We ended up buying five bottles to take home! If you enjoy wine and enjoy laid-back vibes on a winery estate, Williamsburg Winery is definitely worth a stop.
