This was my first time, and even though I wasn't nervous, I really appreciated the instructor's guidance and support. She gave clear verbal explanations followed by physical demonstrations, which was extremely helpful for those of us who were brand new. The space was clean, welcoming, and I loved that she used sanitizer wipes on the yoga mats before class. I didn't expect the fabric to have such a rough, "grabby" feeling at first, but after a while it didn't bother me at all. The staff was so kind, and we genuinely appreciated the chance to try something different together as a group. Highly recommend!

Officially obsessed with this fun, unique, full-body workout! I signed up for an unlimited week and…read moreended up going 5 times to try a variety of classes with different instructors (Nicole, Gabriela, Kerri). I really enjoyed them all! The fundamentals class runs through the basic poses with the silk and often incorporates some form of cardio (jumping, holding) and abs (bicycles, crunches). The flow classes are more yoga-inspired, and you get to coccoon inside your hammock for the end-of-class shavasana, which is AMAZING. On Friday evenings during the winter, they offer a candlelight flow class with the room dark and battery-powered candles on the floor to provide a calming feeling - a great way to shake off the work week. After my first couple classes, I was definitely feeling sore since I was using muscles I don't tend to isolate, like those in my back and shoulders. But even in just the one week, I've noticed a difference in my strength and confidence. The instructors will help you get into the poses - and stop you from spinning if you happen to get a bit out of control while upside down - and are overall very patient and kind. Every week, there's a "pose of the week" that you do during class, and afterward, the instructors will offer to take your photo if you'd like to post yourself doing it on your social pages. After I posted, many of my friends asked me about it. I'm trying to get them to join, so we can take classes together!

Challenging for sure but ultimately one of the best times I've had in a long time. They have beginner classes they call Fundamentals- fundies! The fundie classes are exactly what they sound like. They give you a good foundation to build on. I will say this isn't a one and done type of activity, you will want to come back! I've tried Hammock, Lyra and Silks so far. You don't have to be super strong at all to start.

It had the potential to be a great class, but the lack of attention to sanitation and customers was…read morevery disappointing. First of all, the silks smelled so bad, like sweat, and it was disgusting to use them. Second, there was a giant dead roach lying right next to the mat area and no one removed it during the class. Also, it was my first class, and almost the whole group were first-timers. I expected everyone to have their own spot with silks, but I had to share a spot with two more people. So for about 2/3 of the class I was just standing and waiting for others to take their turn. If I go to Pilates, I don't share a reformer with anyone - that should be the default. I'm pretty tall, and when I arrived, I randomly picked the silks without knowing they were different heights. But once we started doing exercises, I realized my head was bumping into the floor. I asked the instructor if the silks were different heights, and she said yes, then told me I could try to switch with someone from a different group if they were willing (but those groups were friends who came together). She didn't seem to care at all, in the beginning, she could have told me to choose a different height of silks since she saw I was tall. The nice part was the cute stickers everyone could choose after class, and the fact that they give you a list of the exercises you practiced so next time you can try something new. But overall, they really need to work on customer service and cleaning!!

But i know its only a matter of time before people find out what an amazing sanctuary there is right off of 74! The energy is amazing from the second you walk through the doors. Located in an unassuming strip of possible warehouses, this a haven awaits. So far I have taken the yin yoga classes which are donation based (YOGA FOR ALL...I LOVE IT!) you will leave that class floating and in a daze. It's so relaxing. The studio is equipped with all the yoga props you would need and the space is roomy. Ive also taken the aerial silk meditation class....OMG. i fell in love. best 30 minutes of my 2018 thus far....Sure its only January, but I intend to repeat! This clas was an insane 5 bucks!!! Why did I write that?! Like I said, best kept yoga secret! The silk classes do require pre-registration as there are only a limited number of them and im def not sharing my hammock! Sorry homie, you've got to book your own! There are other classes offered such as vinyasa, Zumba and i believe a strength type class and i fully intend to check them out but seriously, the yin and meditation are enough to keep me coming back for more!

It's the best way to get some calories burned while jamming out to some great music. As long as your moving you're doing it right is the motto they profess so don't be scared to cut loose and groove. Be aware that they don't take any breaks but if you need to stop feel free. Classes are held in the school cafeteria. It's very easy to find. The dance moves are very easy to catch onto. I danced with Erica and some of the other ladies of the Jam CLT when they were with another company and it felt like home to be with these ladies again. They do some of the same dance moves from before and they have some new choreography to new songs. The musical selection ranges from Hip Hop to R and B to Pop to Country to Broadway all in one class. You are guaranteed to leave with a new favorite dance move or song!!! Thank you Erica Butler and the amazing women of The Jam CLT for keeping exercise fun in the Queen City!!!! I am so glad they formed this company and will continue the phenomenal work they do.
