I had SO MUCH fun at my 1st Trapeze class ! My inner child had a field day learning the moves while embracing curiosity ! Andddd I lucked out and ended up with a private session with an amazing instructor ! She was so patient detail and attentive! I cannot wait to come back!!

On a scale of cotton candy to Brussels sprouts, AerialCLT is a 5-course meal. AerialCLT runs like a warmed-up contortionist with excellent response time when someone from out of town is trying to figure out their aerial options. While it's hard to jump into higher-level classes (as a drop-in), they welcomed me to join their intro/entry-level class, and I also booked a private with one of their instructors to work on higher-level material. The space was clean, and the parking was easy (when I arrived). It's amazing to see a school of this size with a clear curriculum to help train aerialists in strength and progression.

The class was really fun I took a trapeze class and it really let me know that I need to work on my upper body strength lol. However either the heat wasn't working or they just love the cold because it was freezing in there.

My friends and I took a beginner silks class here the other day and really enjoyed it!! The studio was very large and the people were welcoming . This studio doesn't beginner classes in Lyra, Silks and Hoops... and a drop in class is $30! The teacher was very friendly & clearly an expert, so I felt very taken care of. The one "con" of this place, is the parking lot was a bit scary- not a ton of spots and a very tight drive through space.

If you're tired of your regular workout routine and want to try something new that's challenging and fun... THIS IS IT! I grabbed a great deal on Groupon for a 4 week intro class. 1 hour/week for 4 weeks. The ladies in my class were so fun, some with experience and some with zero but everyone smiled, laughed and had a good time every class together. The instructor, Shauna, was fabulous! Patient, friendly, fun, lighthearted and so engaging! I can't tell you the number of times I tried to get into my basic foot lock wrapping the wrong way, but Shauna was always patient to see if I could correct and happy to help when I couldn't! Every week you build on from the previous week so it feels like you're mastering a little something every week. The best part of class, you ask?? The last 10 mins of class is open for pictures and videos so you can be as instagram worthy as you'd hoped you'd be! It's definitely a great way to build upper body strength! You would be shocked the workout you get for what feels like not doing much... and each week you'll wake up the next morning feeling muscles in your stomach and arms that you didn't even know you had! The best part?! At the end of your 4 week class sessions, they offer (or at least currently offer) 8 classes for $80 that can be used at your leisure for up to 6 months!

Aerial CLT Yelp Fit event!! So much fun!

Me and two friends signed up and attended the YelpFit event here on 8/27. It was so much fun! We got right into the studio and because we'd signed up ahead of time there was no wait to sign in and exchange info. We have done quite a few different workout classes and I would say we are on a journey towards fitness. That being said, I participated in one aerial silks class a while ago so I was pretty excited to give it another go. Our instructors were so much fun and really encouraged everyone to try something new. They were also really great at giving step by step instructions and demonstrated correct form. As far as the content of he beginners class there was something for everyone. We got to do a foot lock as well as spins and even a couple poses. I most enjoyed being upside down :) I would definitely come back and will tell all my friends about this fun activity!

Amazing experience today ! I decided to try a drop in course sat at 10am . It was a lot of fun . You start & end with stretching then you get into some basics & fundamentals. My instructor was Kristin & she was wonderful . She was patient , knowledgeable & very supportive. I was nervous at first but it quickly went away . I didn't feel awkward at all I actually felt empowered. I had never done this before but I'm glad I did. I'd tell anyone hesitating to try it " just go" you won't regret it .

I've been going here since January of this year and LOVE it! I've never been into sports and never worked out more than 2 or 3 days in my whole life before coming here. I'm so much stronger now not only physically but mentally as well. I've pushed myself to do things I never through I could! I go anywhere from 4-4 times a week. This place is worth a shot of you are looking to switch up your daily routine. If you're scared of heights, is recommend the AerialYoga at their south Charlotte location. I've gotten 3 friends of mine hooked on this studio! I

To start there were at least 30 people in the class, with 1 coach. Having been a gymnast in the past, I know how important safety & caution is in a gymnasium. Not a single rule or cautionary measure was explained at start of class while many of the attendees had never been in a facility before. First 30 mins was stretching & warm ups, including people throwing extremely dangerous moves including front tucks with no effort to stop potential injury after multiple disastrous executions. At one point the coach even said "you all signed a waiver", seeming to not care if anyone was hurt. Second half of class was a free for all with all of the gymnastic stations...although it wasn't possible for the 1 coach to monitor everyone, she didn't even try and instead practiced her own tumbling. There was no cool down stretching. This felt like a cash grab, won't be back.

WAYYYYY too many times I had to check someone else's child becasue their parents failed to do so. Parents sit in the car or are too busy on their phones and laptops. They treat this place like a drop in daycare. The amount of times I've seen a brat harass my child and nothing was done is ridiculous. My child simply wants to learn a cartwheel. One simple thing. I even paid for privates. Yet nothing. It appears you have to be a certain color or have the same views as the people who work there in order for your kid to advance to the next level or else your kid is just there for fun, not to learn and grow in their craft. They mainly cater towards white boys and push the black girls to the side. Ive seen the girls team practice and the boys team practice and the boys get more instruction and conditioning than the girls. It's a shame because the girls are all black, I wonder how it would be if the girls were white.

While the monthly cost at The Little Gym may be slightly higher, the overall experience is significantly better. My son is three years old, and like many children his age, listening is still a skill we're working on. I initially thought Perfect Balance would be a great place for him to develop new skills and improve focus. Unfortunately, our experience was disappointing. During one class, the instructor became visibly irritated when my son got distracted or didn't follow instructions. At the end of class, she had him line up with the other children to receive a stamp for participation. She even dipped the stamp in the ink pad, only to look him in the eye and tell him he wasn't getting a stamp because he hadn't listened. I understand the importance of teaching children accountability, but I strongly believe the instructor's approach was unnecessarily petty and inappropriate for a three-year-old. If she felt it was important for him not to receive a stamp, she could have spoken to me directly. I would have respected that. But having him go through the motions--only to publicly deny him a small reward--felt more like punishment than a teaching moment. Because of this experience, I ended our membership effective immediately. We will continue going to The Little Gym, where the instructors are patient, supportive, and understand that children--especially toddlers--have good and bad days. They work with him, not against him. One final thought for any parent considering Perfect Balance: my son also participates in Soccer Shots, where I regularly see other three-year-olds wander off, lose focus, or struggle to follow instructions. Yet, at the end of practice, those children still receive stamps and stickers--not because they performed perfectly, but because they showed up and tried. Why? Because they're three, they're still learning and that deserves encouragement, not shame.

My few interactions with Lisa Chambers, half year program director, have not been customer friendly. She was adamant about a 7 year old girl not wearing leggings during the winter season for practice (when it was 40 degrees outside or lower). With back and forth emails to document the conversation. Coach Jay in particular has been an amazing influence on my children, and it says something to me as a parent when they both talk independently about how they can rely on him, not only to understand what their goals are in gymnastics, but how he is the first person they would trust outside the family with other important topics. I know being around him and learning from him on all fronts will be a core memory for them both. One more note on CS and gymnastics in general - I think there is a lot of pressure in seasons of a child's life to fit in at school, and at some point every kid feels like they come in short. It's been amazing for our children to have this sport and this v. inclusive/accepting facility to serve as a second and alternative place to build healthy relationships with other kids outside of their normal social/academic setting. I can see they are both more confident and more at peace with themselves physically and emotionally for it.
