In the downtown Napa area, this spot is really cute. Lots of IG worthy spots to take cute photos inside. My friends and I came here for the caviar tasting. They did champagne and caviar, but I don't drink, so it was really nice to have the caviar tasting option. They have a chocolate company inside as well, so you can do chocolate tastings or just buy some truffles à la carte. We did the old world caviar tasting which was $125, and you get a .5 oz of 3 types of caviar (I think), and it comes with blinis, crème fraiche, and some Torres chips. Eating the caviar alone will always be my fave, but the sides are a nice touch! Our host (whose name I forget, sorry) was amazing! She knew so much about the caviar, explained everything, and she explained info about the different champagnes to my friends too. The tasting started with bumps of each caviar and tastings of the champagnes with the caviar types. Then we got to eat and drink as we wanted. My husband and I decided to visit Chateau Buena Vista because there aren't many wineries that allow kids under 21, and we had our toddler with us. The location is convenient, right in downtown Napa, and we made reservations in advance through their website for their $55 sparkling wine tasting. The tasting included a Blanc de Blanc, Brut, and Rosé, but unfortunately, none of them stood out for us--they all seemed to lack flavor. On the bright side, we also tried three of their fancy chocolates, and those were absolutely delicious! The decor is very pink and over-the-top, with a pink Christmas tree and other vibrant touches. It's definitely a cute spot for a girls' trip. While we enjoyed the chocolates, we wouldn't come back here, especially since we noticed similar chocolates at the V Market in Yountville. Mary is awful! Our experience was unfortunately overshadowed by extremely poor service from Mary. We arrived on time for our 11:30 AM reservation, only to be told--rather forcefully--that it was actually at 11:00 AM. After checking my confirmation email, I confirmed that we were, in fact, correct. Mary's attitude throughout was unwelcoming and condescending, making our group feel uncomfortable from the start. It wasn't until I pointed out how rude she was being that she stepped away and another server took over--who, in contrast, was incredibly kind and accommodating. Mary's behavior left a negative impression on what should have been an enjoyable outing. If hosting guests is such a burden for her, perhaps this isn't the right role. Two friends and I visited Napa Valley for a girls' weekend and were drawn to Château Buena Vista by its beautiful pink interior and the chocolate and wine pairings. Unfortunately, the experience turned sour. While the chocolates were delicious and the ambiance stunning, the service left much to be desired. We arrived close to closing and were told tastings were unavailable, but we could enjoy wine by the glass. I decided to purchase a bottle of Ida's Pinot Noir for $55--the same wine I had been enjoying. At checkout, the server asked for my email for an e-receipt, then subtly selected a 25% gratuity option on the card reader without asking. Shocked, I adjusted it to 18% but didn't notice the final total due to the lack of a paper receipt. Later that evening, I checked my email and discovered I had been charged $125 for a completely different Pinot Noir that wasn't even on the menu. We were leaving the next morning, so I couldn't dispute the charge in person. I called the Château and was promised a callback, but it's been over a week with no response. While the venue is gorgeous and the chocolates are outstanding, this experience was completely ruined by the deceitful behavior of one staff member. Be very cautious of what you're being charged if you visit. I cannot recommend this place based on my experience. read more

My friend found this spot on IG & decided to throw her bday there. The ambiance is a mixture of cute & tacky. Kind of like going through your quirky old grandmas closet. Originally there was a party of 8 of us, one cancelled last minute & one was pregnant so she wouldn't be doing the tasting. I was the first to arrive at about 1130am & this middle aged white woman & younger woman were at the front. The white woman looked at me as if I were a nuisance & finally after I walked forward she greeted me with an annoyed tone. I told her I was there for a reservation & she said that I could wait downstairs for the rest of our party who were still parking. She already was giving off weird vibes but it was my friends bday so I didn't want to make it awkward. We were shown upstairs & the host noticed there were too many glass settings. My friend, who's bday it was, explained that one person was pregnant so she wouldn't be drinking (she had already mentioned this when making the reservation) & another cancelled last minute. The white lady chastised us like we were children & said that we needed to call ahead because she went through the trouble to put together 3 tables when she could've put together 2. She made a hand gesture to the rest of the room like it was a huge inconvenience when literally we were the ONLY guests in the entire building. We were a table of Black & Brown women & all of us felt uncomfortable at that moment. We went on with our tasting & some of us ordered chocolates for the wine pairing. Not long after receiving our chocolates the white woman came back asking who was going to pay for the chocolates since it was separate from the tasting price. It was almost as if she expected us to dine & dash. Mind you, this is a table full of professional, well paid, grown women not 14 year old girls. As for the wines, I found them all to be extremely alcoholic & heavy handed. Even their Chardonnay is 14.5% alcohol. No finesse or elegance to speak of. As a former worker in the wine industry, I asked about the appellations these wines came from & was curious about the terroir. The host said her company didn't give them much information so there was literally no educational value when it came to our experience. Not only was our host prejudiced & rude she also was uneducated about the products. Clearly this person is in the wrong field. I would definitely not come here again. There were a couple of pairings that really stood out and I was hoping to take home one of the chocolates, but unfortunately it was sold out. Me again, I had to stop by Anthropology to pick up a dress for an event. Chateau Buena Vista is literally 2 doors over. Of course I popped in and had a tasting of delicious sparkling brut rose and the must have Earth and Sky chocolate to go with. As luck would have it, they were offering the most delectable charcuterie boards. Imagine! I decided to sit on the first level mid Chateau and take it all in. It was such a vibe! I met two absolutely gorgeous sister's visiting from Malaysia, we had the best conversation and plan to meet here again! Business was bustling! What a treat to see the expressions of those who first enter and experience the absolute beauty of the space. It was Emily? and Mary working. If I had the experience I would have totally offered to pitch in. Yes! yes! yes! a brand new JCB addition to the long line of beautiful tasting rooms, which for me is called a win-win situation. I usually find a way to get to a new JCB tasting room ASAP and this new one did not disappoint. And we got so lucky and found our favorite manager Ali (we love her) who was at Buena Vista in Sonoma and then1881 in Yountville and now here, my wine loving friends and myself were mighty happy about seeing Ali. What a whimsical feel but yet elegant as we know JCB to be lavish and elegant, he always has several gorgeous crystal chandelier's I consider it his trademark. We came on a very lucky day, they had mimosas and pastries extra yum, so we bought a couple three or more bottles lol chatted with folks at the bar and the manager and of course a grand time was had by all. Side note they have in the tasting room a full on gourmet candy counter they were just beautiful tiny works of deliciousness and perfect with champagne. Arrived for our sparkling tasting and were quickly whisked away upstairs to what felt like an attic corner it was so dark and claustrophobic. Poured three small tastings and then pretty much ignored the rest of the time. We finished in 30 min and decided to leave due to the horrible service. Worst experience ever. Emily is rude and acted like our friend group didn't belong. We had a group of 12 girls. One half went to wine girl and the other half went to Buena Vista. The wine girl group met up with the buena vista group and the moment we walked in the bar to head up stairs Emily stopped us and wouldn't let us upstairs. We let her know we were meeting our friend group upstairs and she replied "I don't think so. The only people up there is couples and a small group." Exactly Emily!
