Love love love Dr. chastain, but her staff leaves a lot to be desired. So don't know if you know, but they have a policy that if your not happy with your glasses you can return them IF it's in a certain amount of time and are in pristine condition mine was 6 business days, but doing this I felt like I was committing a crime. When I was choosing them I felt rushed as the person helping me kept checking her watch the whole time. yes I was being picky, but being as I had to wear them for a whole year I think this is my right. I payed the difference between the two eye glasses and as I'm there picking my new pair the other receptionist says rather loudly "make sure she likes these ones as we cannot do this a second time!" I will return next year as like I said I love Dr. Chantain. Hope the staff have a better attitude in a year! The 4 stars are for Dr. chastain. read more

I'm very disappointed with the service I received for getting a new pair of glasses. I had an appointment last week for an exam and I picked out new frames. When I paying for them at the window and was talking to the lady who's name I can't remember right now, I specifically asked her, will the new pair of glasses have everything that my current pair has as options. The lady responded yes! So I responded, great! So i take my bill and go home. I get a call yesterday to go pick up my new glasses all excited. So we do the fitting everything was great. I get my case, glasses and paperwork and leave. When I get home I noticed the new pair of glasses does not have transition lenses. So I call them and speak to receptionist. She says let me check the paperwork. She then tells me, the person who did the paperwork didn't "CHECK" the box for transition lenses. I replied with, well I asked specifically I will they have them? I want them just like my old ones . (It's free w my insurance, why not) So the lady says, let me do some looking and I'll call you tomorrow. Well it's "tomorrow " and I get a call from Melissa saying although it was out mistake we didn't write it down, it's in the computer, we WOULD HAVE TO CHARGE YOU $75.00 to be able to send them to be worked on! I said why would I have to pay for your office mistake? She replied with "well we can't double charge the insurance " . So now I'm stuck with glasses that I don't care for now, or Dr Chastain's office can do THE RIGHT THING since it was there error. And send my new pair of glasses out to be corrected, on them. And make me a happy customer again.. because it would be too bad that my whole family and I would have to go somewhere else. read more

Dr. Chastain honored my appointment time and did not have me sit in the waiting room like most doctors do (I showed up a couple of minutes before my appointment and barely had time to sit down before I was called back). She was very personable, took time to ask me questions about my eyes AND listened to my answers. Her staff was very friendly and professional. The doctor and staff all took the time to help me pick out the perfect pair of frames offering their advice and opinions, which I thought was WONDERFUL! And the icing on the cake is....she speaks English without a thick foreign accent....I can understand every word she says!!!!!! read more

Dr. Chastain is very personable person. Always happy and treats her patients (at least my family) like friends. She I live almost 30-miles away, but have no problem traveling to Sanger for a hometown feel. No rush to move you out the door. I would give five stars, but that's just not my style. Do not go here even if it's your last resort .very shady and untrustworthy company as well as people there rude and just down right horrible... worst place ever if i could give no stars i would...Even if you have medical their are better quality/higher end eye drs out there for medical. Even If you have to pay a little more it would be more worth it to not come here... this is how bad it is... I'm gonna start by saying this is our 1st time at this eye doctor we have never been to this doctor before ever...I had received a text message saying I have an appointment with my son's eye doctor he has a regular eye he sees regularly. We show up day of his appointment to find that his regular eye dr has no appt for me i find that its at this office instead... I have no idea how this appointment was made we have never been here before ever and there's no one else that could have made the appointment so from the beginning I felt that this place was very shady..... We continued with the appointment just because I had already took my son out of school and we were there already. The eye doctor herself was very rude she shushed me several times during my son's appointment... my son has anxiety when it comes to doctors and when comforting him she shushed me.. first off im not a dog dont shush me....she then states my son needs eye glasses and continue to show us the children eye glasses...( I wanna cut in here and say that I personally have worn glasses my whole life since i was 4 years old so 30 years and know the process for ordering glasses.)... She shows us the children eye glasses and has us pick the one we want.. typically what happens is the child or adult is then sized and then checked if the glasses that were chosen are available in the size he needs . If not we Continue looking. If so the glasses are then ordered in the proper size for your child or an adult this is not what happend in our case we were sold the glasses that were the sapples that probably hundreds of kids try on ...they were to small and Bent so they were Cricket from the kids trying them on... This is never happened to me in my whole life of ordering glasses the past 30 years. when asking why a new frame was not ordered she Continued to say that those were the ones we chose Which I understand yes we chose that frame but why was the proper size not ordered for my child... Why was I not notified that I would be purchasing that exact sample...she said thats how all places do it uhhhh no its not . I'm gonna start by saying that if we were ordering the samples that's fine but tell your client that... tell them so they are not blind sited... and order Accordingly... Personally if I would have known that I would have gone elsewhere because that's just discussing.... i then told her Its her job to make sure that the sample frames that we did purchase fit my son properly . When told that I'm not going to take the glasses home she said that she's going to charge us regardless of if we take the glasses or not... In all honesty I cannot get other pairs of glasses cause she's already charged my insurance my son's only allowed one pair of glasses every year and because she's already charged us there's nothing I can do.... in all honesty this place is just trying to scam money from insurance companies... Please for your own risk do not come to this hole in the wall they will take you for all they got.. Update i talked to all family members in our house hold including grandparents not one person made this appointment...also i find it very belittling that owner doest care about the way they treat people...As for the owner stating we werent charged anything out of pocket so why doest it Matter? Um because our insurance was charged... making it so i could not get glasses somewhere else.. thats still charging us rather we are paying out of pocket or insurance is paying for it.. its our insurance.. by charging our insurance for the sample glasses not new we were unable to order else were.... i had to pay additional costs to order new glasses that fit him because the eye tech from this horrible place did not do her job and size my son properly .. she did not inform me i was buying the samples which were 2 sizes to small .... its unbelievable how do you not size them or let the parent know what there getting this child has to wear theses for the next year or so. it just shows the companys integrity...This place is not very sanitary eather with old ugly quilts on the walls just collecting dust... just avoid with all costs... people always assume because you have medical your lower then others or cant afford a good dr but there out there for medical do not settle for drs like this.. i dont know how she sleeps at night taking money from a child who needs glasses just so she get more money from insurance companies medical or not.. unbelievable... read more

I grew up in southern california and have been commuting for years for my annual eye doctor visits. I finally took the plunge and visited Dr. Chastain with my wife for the first time. I was immediately blown away by the friendliness of her staff. Everyone made it a point to welcome me in as if I had been a patient going there for years. Dr. Chastain was funny and extremely pleasant to work with and even took into account my work schedule getting me in as quickly as possible. It was nice to have an 8:30 appointment and not have to wait around for 30 minutes before actually seeing the doctor. I will be continuing to visit Dr. Chastain and her staff and will recommend her to all of my friends and family! read more

Have been going there since I was a child, always had great service. As an adult I changed my medical insurance and noticed a DRASTIC change in the way I was treated by the Dr and her staff. I had broke my glasses one day and was out of contacts, and I wanted to see if I can buy some trials to get me by. Instead I got a lecture from the doctor, I felt like she was my mother, one grown woman scolding another. After that awkward conversation she said she would order my contacts and just hung up! So I called back to see if I could get some trials in the meantime and one of her receptionist picked up, I can hear her talking to the Dr and all I can hear her say is "I TOLD HER ALREADY!" Finally I had lost my patience with her and when I was finally able to talk to her I said "look all I want are some trials, cancel my contact order" and she laughed and said "Okay goodbye!" I was left speechless. She's a selfish and rude woman and I hope to never encounter her again as long as I live. read more

these people can't return phones calls and when I called to find out what the situation was with my insurance coverage they did not seem to understand how it actually worked... I did my best to help a local business rather then a bigger company, but they just can't seem to get it right.... Very Confused! read more
