I've been looking for a different type of haunted tour to do in Houston and found Houston…read moreHistorical Tours. My husband and I went on tour B, which is the driving tour that is about 3 hours. The tour includes abandoned African American cemetery, a German cemetery in a residential neighborhood, and then into downtown to see some of the older bars/buildings where supposedly Jack the Ripper came through. We were also taken into the Spaghetti Warehouse upstairs section, that I have actually never seen. last on the tour was the Donnellan Crypt that was rather spooky!! Our tour guide Chris, was professional and informative, we ended up on a personal tour of myself, husband, and Chris so it was like extra time was spent explaining all of the aspects of the tour, and made it easier to listen. Had no idea there was so much interesting history in Houston, we will definitely go on another tour with Houston Historical Tours.

He was very friendly, courteous, and knowledgeable. The 3 hours just flew by as Keith drove and narrated. It was lots of fun! The next day, I booked extra time with Keith to see a few more sites that we didn't have time to see the previous day, before he drove us to the airport. All of this was extremely reasonably priced. On top of all of this, Keith had made a fun event recommendation for us the night before we were going to meet with him. I highly recommend Keith & Houston Historical Tours! Mike C

We heard about different haunted locations, but sometimes the "why" it's haunted was left out. We did have a surprise visit to a cemetery, which was nice, but the tour overall was mid at best.

I had such a nice experience with Houston City Tours, Inc.! As a first time visitor, it was the…read moreperfect way to get oriented and really learn about the city instead of just attending my conference. Ben, our guide, was fantastic -- a true local who clearly loves his hometown. His narration on Houston's architecture, history, and hidden details made the skyline come alive. You could feel the hometown pride in every story he shared. It wasn't just facts -- it was personality, context, and connection. Huge shoutout to Yolanda as well for keeping us safe while navigating all over the city. Houston traffic is no joke, and she handled it like a pro. There are only two hop-off stops -- the Aquarium and Sam Houston Park -- so if you're looking for a fully flexible hop-on-hop-off experience, this isn't that. But honestly, it's a great overview tour and a really efficient way to see and understand Houston in a short amount of time. If you want a solid introduction to the city with knowledgeable locals leading the way, this is a great choice! Support this family owned business.

I absolutely loved this tour experience! I did the downtown tour for my birthday and I'm so happy I…read moredid. It was so much fun, we had a wide selection of foods, and the guide, Christine, was great. She was sweet, down to earth, and knowledgeable. It's definitely a good amount of food. I was so stuffed by the end I couldn't finish certain dishes. I really liked 6 out of 8 of the dishes which I think is a good proportion considering everything was a surprise. We went to 4 different restaurants. I think everyone's least favorite was the last dessert, but it was okay because we had so much yummy food before then. I highly recommend the tour! The walking was nice since we were eating so much. You also get a little history tour as you walk. It wasn't too much walking so I think it's suitable for older adults and kids (I heard some of the other locations are more walking so be sure to ask if you're concerned). It's a little pricier than some similar tours I found ($70/pp), but they were much more responsive and easier to plan with compared to other places.

I'm afraid of heights and my husband hates planes but somehow helicopters don't bother him and I surprised him with a helicopter tour of Houston. The owner made me feel super relaxed and showed us a safety video that clearly described all the necessary info. He was super nice and made us both feel comfortable and he chatted with us while we waited for the helicopter to land. Once the helicopter landed, they even took photos for us on my phone which was really nice because I never would have asked. The whole flight was incredible! The pilot was wonderful too; he talked to us the whole time, pointed out where landmarks were, made jokes, and all the while flew the helicopter so smoothly I wasn't even nervous. Overall I would definitely recommend this company for anyone looking to book a helicopter flight!

Always looking to do something unique when visiting Houston so made my friends take this "Houston,…read moreWe Have a Tunnel" tour with me and we all liked it. We met at the Cafe Express on corner of Capitol and Main and then started the tour in an old bank building (now occupied by Chase). Note, lots of people came late to the tour, we waited 15 minutes to start but then left so it is important to show up on time. The Chase building is gorgeous and has a beautiful Art Deco interior. There are eight frescos near the ceiling when you walk in and they depict the history of Houston. After that, you go down into the tunnels. Michael our tour guide was very informative and personable and we got a primer on the history and facts about the tunnels. There are over 8 miles of tunnels connecting buildings downtown! Maybe that is why you don't see anybody on the streets of the 4th largest city in America! We went from building to building underground and then came up from time to time, learning particular facts about the buildings, the topography and the architecture along the way. We took a break after about an hour and got free cookies at a store in the lower level of the Pennzoil building called Michael's cookies. (No relation to our tour guide) I love infrastructure so for me, this was an awesome experience. The tunnels in Houston are functional and there are lots of places to eat, but it is not like the underground networks in Toronto and Montreal that are kind of like subterranean malls. My friends who went with me aren't quite as nerdy as I am, but they enjoyed it too. The tour lasts about two hours and I feel it was two hours well spent. I would recommend doing this in the morning and then doing a Buffalo Bayou Cistern tour in the afternoon to get your fill of underground Houston.
