Daniel helped me right away and when I inquired about a wire versus a cashier's check, whichever was cheaper, he recommended the cashier's check given the wire cost. That worked just fine for me and within a minute I had everything I needed to go on about my day. The entire transaction was seamless and he even gave me an envelope to put the check in. I asked to set up the fast cash feature of the bank app (so I could deposit checks with my phone). I've used similar services at other banks, and I've never had issues. I was told it would take several business days to get it activated. Weeks later it was still not working, so I called again. This time I was told the feature world not be activated for a year. I protested as said that someone else had a agreed to activate it. They apparently dug up the phone call and listened to the conversation, and agreed to activate the feature, but said typically that they wouldn't do it for one year. Today I deposited a $250 check, and then tried to deposit a $1500 check. I was told I exceeded the limit for deposits. I would deposit the check in person, but only the drive through is open, and it's habitually under staffed, with a line of cars around the block waiting for service. ECU does not meet my expectations, I intend to find a new bank.

Very simple. i made a payment a few weeks ago for the full balance of my account. It was for a big amount and it was drawn from my bank. I made a similar large payment from the same account months ago without any problems. This time, the bank put a block on my card WITHOUT EVEN TELLING ME and the card stopped working without notice, leaving me without my primary form of payment. This means that auto payments on my account were being rejected, damaging my reputation with my creditors. They even kept the BLOCK on my card AFTER THEY RECEIVED MY PAYMENT. When I called the Bank, the representative told me that she couldn't do anything about this because of their "system." A supervisor finally lifted the hold, but the card still did not work. When I called back, I was frustrated and direct. I did not use bad language and I was not rude. She made it personal, and started lecturing me and hung up. A person like this has no business in customer service, especially if they cannot harness their own obvious insecurities. She should be fired. I have had nothing but problems with this institution. I stopped in this week to open another checking account which I need to do before year's end. They let me know that despite clearly having office space for 5 or more workers, they could not accommodate me because I didn't have an appointment. Note: they were not staffed. First available appointment was January 3 by phone. If it's by phone, it could be originated anywhere, so why such a long wait? Anyway, I went to another branch 10 miles away and got the new account in 10 minutes.

Although this is just a campus branch location, it is actually pretty much full service. But this place has highly competent, efficient and pleasant tellers and counselors. Much lower rates than the big evil banks who should not be forgiven for what they did to the national economy in 2008. I just finished paying off a home improvement loan from UW Credit Union and I really appreciate the help they gave me to fix up my bathroom. The one drawback of this location is parking but if you're in this neck of the woods anyway, it's otherwise pretty good.
