I have had a lot of paperwork lately due to a few complicated matters. I needed something notarized in a hurry and was assisted right away. Kelly was informative, helpful and friendly. She treated me like a person, not just a customer. We were able to get through the paperwork pretty quick and then I was on my way. She was the epitome of perfect customer service! I'll keep going back to this location.

Daniel helped me right away and when I inquired about a wire versus a cashier's check, whichever was cheaper, he recommended the cashier's check given the wire cost. That worked just fine for me and within a minute I had everything I needed to go on about my day. The entire transaction was seamless and he even gave me an envelope to put the check in. Wish all my bank transactions were this easy!

I added my wife, who was also a previously on my account and has held a mortgage and a car loan with the credit union. I asked to set up the fast cash feature of the bank app (so I could deposit checks with my phone). I've used similar services at other banks, and I've never had issues. I was told it would take several business days to get it activated. Weeks later it was still not working, so I called again. This time I was told the feature world not be activated for a year. I protested as said that someone else had a agreed to activate it. They apparently dug up the phone call and listened to the conversation, and agreed to activate the feature, but said typically that they wouldn't do it for one year. Today I deposited a $250 check, and then tried to deposit a $1500 check. I was told I exceeded the limit for deposits. I would deposit the check in person, but only the drive through is open, and it's habitually under staffed, with a line of cars around the block waiting for service. ECU does not meet my expectations, I intend to find a new bank.

*Updated review August 2026** I had to revise my review since I last posted several years ago. I…read morehave been a patron for over 20 years, but am transitioning to another bank due to the decline in services within this branch as well as at the corporate level. The fees are significant and unfair, and the lack of staff knowlege has resulted in account errors that have been costly (depending on who you ask you will likely get a different answer). Should you make a mistake on your register (for example forget to deduct a random autopay from your balance) you will be charged $35 per item (even if the withdrawal is for less than $1) in the order they came in. Within a day this mistake will easily and unfairly cost you over $200 and common sense cannot be negotiated, and they won't consider reversing the fees no matter how silly they seem. So, if you are at any risk of making a simple mistake on your register for less than a cup of coffee, I recommend you bank elsewhere. Its unfortunate, because switching banks after 20 years is a pain but makes sense for me...because chances are I will at some point forget to add that cup of coffee to my register and I will need some understanding and grace from the person I am speaking with at my bank so that it doesn't become a $200 mistake. This is not that bank. Original review in 2018: My experience with this branch has been so good. A few months ago, I had a restaurant incorrectly charged me over $1000 on my bill (I paid with my credi/debit card). I didn't realize it until the next day when I looked at my bank account online. Aleta was so helpful in getting it all sorted out, and truly went above and beyond. Since then, I have opened a new checking account there and she as well as the other employees at this branch were so helpful. Next I will be opening a savings account there. Very appreciative of all of their help and I would definitely recommend this branch.

Very simple. i made a payment a few weeks ago for the full balance of my account. It was for a big amount and it was drawn from my bank. I made a similar large payment from the same account months ago without any problems. This time, the bank put a block on my card WITHOUT EVEN TELLING ME and the card stopped working without notice, leaving me without my primary form of payment. This means that auto payments on my account were being rejected, damaging my reputation with my creditors. They even kept the BLOCK on my card AFTER THEY RECEIVED MY PAYMENT. When I called the Bank, the representative told me that she couldn't do anything about this because of their "system." A supervisor finally lifted the hold, but the card still did not work. When I called back, I was frustrated and direct. I did not use bad language and I was not rude. She made it personal, and started lecturing me and hung up. A person like this has no business in customer service, especially if they cannot harness their own obvious insecurities. She should be fired. I have had nothing but problems with this institution. The same thing will happen to you.

I took out a second mortgage HELOC with them on the recommendation of a real estate friend, based on their rates. Their communication is terrible, their policies make even the simplest activities miserably difficult, and their fees are ridiculous. I could relay many stories of the crazy difficulties I had with them, but my last transaction with them sums it up well. Sick of dealing with them I saved up to pay off the loan. First their customer service said I had to wire money to my savings account and then transfer to the loan balance to pay it off. When I pointed out that made no sense and that I'd been making direct payments against the loan for years they said they had to "research" how to pay off the loan. WTF? Finally they emailed me wire instructions which included $49 in fees they would charge including a "satisfaction fee", a "acceptance fee" to receive money from me, and a "recording fee." They literally made me pay them in order to be allowed to pay off my loan! Greedy, confusing and frustrating sum up Summit Credit Union.
