I haven't been to this location since I was a child, under different ownership, but I was craving a Philly cheesesteak bowl. I looked at the menu before going in so I knew exactly what to order. As I walked in, no greeting was extended to me by any of the 3 employees working. As I ordered my bowl, the cashier, "Lex", put "no onion" in the POS. Noticing it, I pointed out that I did want onion. I didn't want black beans or lettuce. She smirked and acknowledged my request, yet she did not make the correction in the POS. As I waited for my food, Lex and the young man working were loudly talking and flirting/touching each other. They had a few orders lined up in to-go bags on the counter. A DoorDash driver arrived for a pick up, and when he left both employees were laughing about the DoorDash driver getting the wrong order. Instead of trying to fix the problem, they laughed and said, "They'll call back." When I got my bowl there were no onions. I went back up to the counter and asked Lex for a side of onions. She looked confused and asked if I wanted them cooked or raw. I told her raw was fine. She asked the older woman who was cooking for a side of onions and the older woman looked irritated, visibly picked up and looked at the ticket (that stated "no onion"), and began cooking me a side of onions. Lex then told her to, "Take it easy" as it was evident the cook thought it was my fault. Even with the onions, the bowl was incredibly underwhelming and practically inedible. It had no flavor and a questionable quality of ingredients. I will stick to making cheesesteak bowls myself. Throughout the meal, Lex and the young man working continued to talk loud enough that I could hear them poking fun at customer requests. As the phone rang, Lex refused to answer it and told the young man to answer. He was complaining that he had been answering the phone all day and it was "her turn". They let at least 4 phone calls go to voicemail because neither would answer. I have never seen such poor behavior from restaurant employees. Not sure who the owners are, but I highly suggest they have a manager present during hours of operation. I will not be back. read more

I wish I took photos to share because this place was phenomenal! Philly cheesecake was absolutely delicious! I also got a concrete with caramel and cinnamon and somehow they got it to taste exactly like Cinnamon Toast Crunch! The employees were kind, the manager was very nice and a hard worker! It's just basic steak and cheese. I do like to add mushrooms. You can also opt for chicken instead of steak. And they do have toppings in the back-lettuce, tomato, etc. but you do have to ask at the counter. We asked for the tiger cry sauce. It's some sort of mayo horseradish concoction that goes great on the Philly or for fry dipping. The cheesesteaks are decent sized. You'll definitely be full. The bread is amazing. Super soft and delicious. The meat is juicy. The cheese plentiful. I don't know what's not to like. The fries are also delicious. They are crispy and thick cut. When the meat and cheese and whatever else you loaded onto your sandwich inevitably falls out and onto the tray below onto your fries, don't fear! The fries make the perfect vehicle to scoop any missed goodness into your pie hole without becoming a soggy mess. I was met at the counter by a glum employee barking out "For here or to go?" My turkey super chief on wheat ($8.29) was ready in nine minutes, and tasted great, with plenty of tasty turkey and cheese, and a good meat to bread ratio, on a fresh, moist 8" hoagie. I appreciated the good variety of meat and bread options, including steak, chicken, turkey, or ham, and white or wheat hoagies or wraps, but just a few condiments were available - steak sauce, Worcestershire sauce, mustard and ketchup. It has been many years since I've been here and I remember the Super Chief was my go-to. I got a ton of meat on the sandwich, it was juicy and pretty well seasoned. The veggies could have spent a few minutes longer on the flat top but that is my personal opinion and I should have asked them to cook them a little longer. They could have used a little more seasoning but not bad. Inflation sucks y'all, this os why the sandwich has gone up in price and the amount you get is solid for the price. The best I can say about it is that it has been a long time staple of Overland Park. I guess people have just come to rely on it for a dining option. What is your favorite? The lady behind the counter was 0 help. So I got the Zephyr. The hoagie was nice and slightly toasted but yet still soft on the inside. Meat was about half of what you get normally on a philly cheesesteak (at least other parts of the country), the veggies was really lots of onions little mushrooms, but the cheese was plentiful. Just really disappointing overall. I usually ignore the general rating of a place but in this case i think 3 star is accurate. None of the employees seemed happy to be working and it showed in their customer service. Hopefully things turn around for this place bc i think it could have potential but it's going to take some work. read more

The food tasted nothing like it used to. This place seems to be more of a teen hangout spot than a restaurant. There were teens hanging all around the restaurant being very immature. The staff is rude and not helpful. I was having trouble getting my card to run and she ignored me. When I gave up she jerked the machine around, turned it back and said, it didn't work. Do it again. My daughter stepped up and fought with the machine and finally got it to go. I ordered the hand-breaded tenderloin. It is not hand-breaded (it probably says that on the box that the frozen pieces come in. It had nothing on it, just bread and meat. No lettuce, onion or tomato - and they charge to add anything. The bun wasn't even toasted. It only took 2 minutes so I know it wasn't cooked, it had to be warmed up in a microwave. The breading was gooey next to the meat and so was the bun. Just really bad. My SIL's sandwich - This is a philly steak place, right? They up charge for steak. Also, there was very little meat in the bun. His fries were not cooked all the way. My daughter's sandwich, Had mushroom in it and the sandwich she ordered was not supposed to have mushrooms. Also, very little meat. She had mozzarella sticks that were not done and the sauce left a lot to be desired. We loved this place years ago and they were always busy. We should have known because they were not busy that day.
