I had requested that TV services be terminated in June 2022. I returned all of the cable equipment (receivers/DVR) related to the TV service. The company started a new billing cycle on 1-8-2023 and informed me of the charges on 12-12-2023. They included a $78 fee for cable TV services and a $21 charge for TV broadcast fees. I told them that all of the equipment was returned so there should be no TV related charges. They insisted that because they offer TV streaming over the Internet that the charges were legitimate and that they must be paid in full. I refuse to pay for services/rentals/fees that were not rendered and they would not take any action to resolve. Clearly this is criminal in nature. You cannot bill someone knowingly that a service was not rendered and use a hypothetical reason that one "could" use their services over the Internet while refusing to remove the charges. This type of activity is really fit for a RICO (Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act) lawsuit. I have filed a complaint with the Michigan Attorney General. The idea that they could force TV services without equipment to watch TV is absurd. The excuse that one "could" stream their content is absurd and they do not even care. read more

Charter would not let me change the password to my own email account without having my husband's permission first because he's the 'account holder'! Seriously. It's 2015! In a similar situation years ago, my husband gave Charter 'authorization' to let me change the account without his permission. We found out today, that the exception to that policy is 'password changing'. Really? And do I follow one step behind him as well? Considering I have ALL of the account information including four digit pin, address, zip, social security, etc., it is NOT a matter of protecting our account for security purposes. That's an insult to even use that as an excuse. They weren't helpful nor were they the least bit interested in resolving our issue. Due to a regulated industry, they continue to get away with horrible customer service and horrible policies. Deregulate them like the phone companies and things will change real fast. Charter Communications - Awful service!! - Television Service Providers Near Me - Whitmore Lake, Michigan

I have just started with Charter Communications. So far to set up internet only I had to call 2 Times and talk to 3 people to get my service ordered. Then I had to call another number to get a question answered about activation times. They then explained my account was set up to ship the equipment rather thank pick up which was supposed to be set up by the 1st call and 3 people. Today I call as I am receiving emails that equipment is confirmed to ship which is not correct and this was supposed to be fixed the day before. Then she explains the order is set up to ship and be picked up she also explained there is nothing she can do and it's not her fault. Well it sure is not mine but Charter doesn't care obviously. I have no choice to use them where the service is being located which probably explains the terrible customer service. If you have the choice save your self the hassle use the other choice no matter what. 3 calls 5 people = my time and problem. Very disappointed. Made the decision to cancel cable on 10/2/2017 getting to expensive. Notified Charter at the 800#. Customer service rep said that they could pick up the DVR, or I could drop off at the Whitmore Lake office. I dropped off the DVR and obtained a receipt. So now, I am being harassed by this local lady that claims that I did not drop off the DVR. Told her in person and on the phone 2x that I have the receipt showing DVR dropped off. I have called Charter to complain about the harassment and confirmed the DVR dropped off at the local office. Come to find out Charter wrote down the WRONG serial number. BE WARNED IF YOUR DROPPING OFF OR SENDING BACK ANY OF CHARTER'S EQUIPMENT. TAKE A PHOTO OF THE EQUIPMENT SERIAL NUMBER AND GET THE BADGE # AND PERSON NAME AND KEEP FOR YOUR RECORDS. After putting my internet service on vacation for 6 months ($12 x 6 = $72) I came back to a 100% rate increase from $29.99 to $59.99 per month! 100% increase in 6 months is unreasonable. Unfortunately they are the only game in town. I will be complaining to my state legislators and township officials but except for getting my complaint "on the record" I know it won't do any good. The only hope is that AT&T will finally get in to offer competition to this monopoly read more
