I went with the only option (DirecTV) and was disappointed in the lack of user-friendly options, the remote wasn't easy to use, all the little bonuses of DISH weren't available like Remote Finder, Light up Remote, etc. Basically DIRECTV was terrible and their customer service was horrible, particularly after they were purchased by ATT. I moved back to Ohio 2 yrs ago and just brought DIRECTV with me. Recently I finally gave up after a really bad ongoing experience with their IT helpdesk and called DISH, the person I spoke with "Dan" from "El Paso" was FANTASTIC! He was so easy to deal with, easy to understand, and took care of all my needs in a matter of minutes. The DISH tech rep was out 2 days later, hooked everything up and now... for $30 less a month, I have a better system, with more channels and better customer service. If you cannot get cable where you are, go with DISH!

This provider is horrible. They make you sign a two year commitment but only give you a deal for…read moreone year. After that year, they triple your monthly service and refuse to adjust your bill. So, they tell you that you either have to pay or cancel. I canceled my service; the agent I got was horrible and my service over the last year has been mediocre at best. My advice is to go with DirectTv or even cable. Biggest mistake I ever made was switching to Dish.

After getting beat to death by Comcast and their inferior equipment, service, and attitude I…read moreswitched to Directv. And for 14 months I've been very happy. However, I wanted to add a mini receiver to my package because we wanted to add a television set in another room. This is where everything turned south. Besides the $99 lease payment for the box, and the $6 per month added fee, they demanded a tech come out to install the mini box in a room that already has the digital coax cable run to it. That was a $49 charge. Plus, they demanded a new 2 year service be signed. Or, they would be kind enough to waive the 2 year agreement for a mere $100 more. Looks like I'll be switching back and forth between Comcast and Directv every two years now. Be nice if they valued their customers once they have them.

I set out to cancel my directv streaming before the billing date ONLINE. The person I had to "chat"…read morewith went through the usual routine for about 30 minutes before telling me they were not allowed to cancel and I would have to speak to someone with the authority to do so. That "authority" person said they would cancel service and send me a label to return my equipment. I returned the equipment (they received it) but the service was never cancelled. I involved my bank when they debited the account the following week. The bank is now stopping payment requests from Directv. Directv is now sending threatening emails about all kinds of charges because they cannot get more money from me. I just called the phone number on one of those emails and was told that the online cancellation option is not valid because it only goes to the billing department, not the "loyalty" department who ONLY has the authority to cancel. So you cannot actually cancel online. It's too bad that their customer service practices are so convoluted because the actual streaming service was great. The time that Directv is horrid is when you have to contact them.

The nightmare is finally over with this internet provider…read more Summary since my last review: -Multiple "unexplained" outages. -Discount periods became less and less where I was calling every two months to get a new one re-applied -Final discount ask was not granted and I was only given a slightly higher speed -Cable re-bury effort after our line got cut was redone 5 times and still kept popping up. They claim to bury 18 inches but it looked like 4 or 5 inches at best -Unexplained bill increases. Most likely pulling back their covid-era speed increases by charging their customers. -Customer service chat/phone call is the worst I've ever dealt with. Agents need to have the issue repeated multiple times. You're reporting an issue and they say "excellent, I'm glad to hear that and hope you're doing well". Either not understanding or not listening. -Canceling was very painful. Could not be done through chat, had to be done over the phone, was transferred 4 times and kept getting asked to renew. I'm still getting calls and emails to reactivate my service. I also had to pay Fedex to ship my equipment back, I couldn't drop them off at this location. I know most internet/cable companies are poor but WOW is by far the worst I've ever had. Avoid at all costs.

No one came to my door, No one bother to ask me about needing to inter my PRIVATE property. One of their service techs just walks right down my driveway and into my backyard. I stopped him from going further into my yard and told him he is trespassing and that he needed to leave and he does not have my permission to be on my property. HE tried to explain why he was there and I told him that wasn't my concern and that he needed MY permission to be on MY PRIVATE property. He said he would wait for the police and that they would say it's okay. The hell they will. I wasn't told they would need access, Wasn't shown a work order, NOTHING! I called the company and talked to their Service Tech. I explained what happen and this Rude and Very unprofessional person said "What do you want me to do about it". My response, "I don't know, try training your techs about knocking on peoples door to let them know what's going on, or is that too much to ask for". I then asked why didn't anyone come to my house and let us know. All I got was "okay". I asked for a supervisor. Was told he needs a reason for me asking. Ummm? Really? I then asked 3 more times and was told "no". I told him fine and told him flat out. IF ANY of your techs walks onto my property again without my consent then I would press charges and call the BBB and Comers. This company is a Joke. If they do this again there will be consequences to their actions.
