If I could give a 0 I would. I have had intermittent internet issues for a month which the internet completely drops signal every 1-3 minutes, they have sent out 4 technicians in the past month with no resolution. They state the problem is at the pole. There seems to be 0 communication within the company between techs and maintenance, customer service just wants me to reset my modem 700 times. Gross negligence and incompetence, if there wasn't a monopoly in my area for internet service providers I would have switched long ago. I work from home twice a week and this has been directly impacting my job performance. Spectrum does not cover lost wages instead offer an extremely generous $25 off my monthly bill. I don't want your charity, just the service I pay for. If you have an option I'd recommend staying away from charter (spectrum) whatever they are calling themselves these days. read more

spectrum will make you pay the entire bill even if you cancel only 3 days into your billing cycle. this is bad business!! do not use spectrum internet if you have any other options!! then they will try to keep you by lowering your bill after you've been a loyal paying customer for 5 years. maybe they should've offered a lower price to a loyal customer in the first place!! terrible. read more

I never really leave reviews on anything but this was just so upsetting that I had to let someone know. Spectrum is one of the worst company to ever get service from. This is not new obviously. While their internet speeds might be great, their customer service is ridiculous. I was charged for internet service I didn't use because they failed to inform me, when I was canceling my service, that I would still be paying for 2 WEEKS I wasn't using. That's because their billing starts on the 24th and I cancelled on the 31st, retuned their equipment 2 days later when their store opened. Yet NO ONE told me when I was cancelling that I would pay service because of how their cycles are scheduled. I would have kept my equipment and made use of those two weeks I still had. Even worse..I called to let them know and ask why I was being charged (which is when I was informed of the way their cycles work and what not) and the guy basically said there isn't anything he can do. Not even credit me for those weeks I wasn't using INTERNET. Such a rip-off. I hope I never have to live in a location where I have to use their service again. read more

If I could give this review a lower star or negative number I absolutely would. We recently ended our cable because we TRULY couldn't afford the bill. It wasn't the easiest decision because we have historically had great service with this business in the past, and had every intention of going back once things were under better control financial wise for us. My husband called and cancelled over the phone on the 27th of March. 1 week later we get a bill in the mail...from March 26-April 25th. We just thought this was an oversite on our part or theirs. When we called we were notified that we did in fact still need to pay for the service from March 26-April 27th even though we had ONLY USED 1 day***of the month service. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. When we cancelled service over the phone on March 27th we were never notified verbally or reminded that this would take place. And trust me if we had, we would have obviously delayed for the remaining 29 days. Hey if your paying it you should use it right. Their position stands that customers are notified on every PAPER bill that this is in fact what they would do. I'm sorry, but who uses paper billing any more. So after speaking to 2 managers both of which were denying their ability to do anything about the bill I spoke to a male manager named Tee and a female manager named "Taijzai". They both carried the same monotone voice with no options for help. When I asked if there was any way I could make payments, they said not without risking a late fee...ARE YOU FRICKING KIDDING ME!!! I have never been so blown away. CUSTOMER SERVICE FAIL. BEING A GOOD BUSINESS TO YOUR CUSTOMERS WHO HAVE TRUSTED YOU...FAIL! Ok VP of Marketing (Geoff) I'm not sure what I have to do to get you Jack offs to stop sending offers to me in the mail I have call several times. It stops for a week of two and then you just send something a different why either my name or current resident or preferred customer with no name. Hey Geoff the last time I spoke to your people I was told I'd not get no marketing info for five years that was less than a month ago. Received wifi and cable services for about $100 a month. The system would come off line and I had to sit through over 30 minutes of electronic phone troubleshooting. I was only able to speak with a customer service, when I pressed the button to disconnect services. They did not provide me with a credit for the time the internet was offline. They only provide a small monetary compensation when service is out in your area, but you better call them because they will not call you. The service was too expensive for poor customer service and poor quality service. The installer left the equipment, gave me the password and told me if I need assistance to contact customer service. He told me how to operate the television in less than 3 minutes after he was late arriving for his scheduled appointment time. read more

TERRIBLE company and service! I am paying for much faster internet than I am getting, and their new e-mail system sucks bad! The interface is much less intuitive, and performance is slow or non-existent. Oftentimes, my e-mail does not work at all. This company has the WORST customer service! Not only do they overcharge they are also rude when you have a problem and not helpful. I have had issues with their service that have never been resolved. I am not a dish fan at all but, if you have a choice don't choose Charter! Terrible Customer Service!!! I recently (3 years ago) had a name change, and this company accepts my payment every month under the new name by the way, but refuses to change the name on my account. I have called them several times requesting the change, and each time they promise to change it. However, month after month and year after year I still have this old name on my account. Today, I called customer service to request that they cancel my account due to not being able to change my name. The lady I spoke with was extremely rude, and has no business being in customer service... I then requested to speak to a manager, the manager was a bit better at customer service and offered me a $20 credit for my trouble, but I will only get that after she monitors my account to be sure that I do not cancel. So for my trouble I get spoken down to, and get some credit dangled over my head like a dog begging for a treat.... Really Charter... Really? This is how you conduct business??? Now mind you, their name change policy is extremely archaic, there are only two ways to do it... you can only send it by snail mail or fax of which is super inconvenient for this digital world... but okay!!! You are a company that supposedly provides the best in TECHNOLOGY and are the MOST up to DATE... and you cannot receive an email? I will be shopping for a better more up to date company who cares about their customers. read more

Zero stars. Don't make the mistake of signing up with Charter! Look at Charter's terrible reviews everywhere. Consumerist magazine (not-for-profit subsidiary of Consumer Reports) calls Charter the "worst company in America." It's no wonder Charter went bankrupt a few years ago. This sleazy firm's business practices include: - cutting your satellite cable, then insisting that customer fight with Charter's 3rd party unlicensed contractor instead of honestly owning up to their mistake and correcting it. - moving your first bill due date ahead after first bill, without prior notification (told this is a "standard" Charter procedure on 2nd bill) - insisting that customers wait 45 days (unbelievable but true) for Charter's Autopay system to take effect, then warning that double payments may occur when customer attempts to make a one-time payment prior to the interim due date (as a safety measure) - moving from CSR agents in South Carolina to the Phillipines, where they lie to customers by claiming healthy account status with zero problems and confirming Autopay sign up weeks ago, then cutting off all services including (Emergency 911) shortly thereafter, without prior notice - migrating from helpful humans to speak with or chat online (about no-service issues) to worthless automated systems - poor no-service reliability I really wanted to love Charter. Our credit history is well above 700 and we always pay bills on time. But after several serious attempts to cooperate with Charter, acting as a good customer to straighten out their billing errors, all of our attempts have been futile. I recommend that prospective customers view the 800+ complaints about Charter on another website, plus other sites, before wasting your time. This is the most unethical business that I have encountered in years. They are currently holding my mother's phone number hostage, insisting that they cannot give the number to AT&T unless they come back to her home and re-install phone the equipment for a $35 fee. It is unimaginable that this is true and I believe sincerely that they are doing this simply to punish her for leaving Charter. I called AT&T and told them to deal with Charter. We will see what happens! If you have choices, and I do mean ANY other choices, choose a different company. You have been warned! read more

Charter is a MONOPOLY! Only had them for a month for just Internet and already received two bills in one month! The first bill including the tip of installation charge was 120.00. 2nd bill is 50.14! They said that's normal! They had problems installing, they had to tie into my neighbors! Didn't work for a whole week. I called and the automated system couldn't fix it so then go through a real person over the phone! An hour later it's fixed! Then they send 5 different emails in the same day for a 20 dollar discount because of the installation problem. I couldn't even use it! Had to call customer service again to just to apply the 20 dollar credit! Better then nothing I guess, but still a rip off! I can't wait for someone else to come in the area. read more

RIP OFF! They do not offer promotional packages to loyal customers. Their customer service reps do not disclose the impact package modification will have on your channel access. The supervisor was completely useless in not only addressing the lack of customer service provided by previous reps, but failed to recognize the impact their unprofessionalism will have on our willingness to remain customers. At this point, even if going with an alternate carrier means more money monthly it's worth it so long as our money is not being used to support the salaries of individuals like those I encountered earlier today. read more
