For bragging about how they are "the number 2 telecommunication ication company" in the nation, they sure as heck have problems with keeping programming on. In 7 months, I am now in the middle of the fourth time I have had to call tech support for a remote reboot. A tech was actually here just a couple days ago. My neighbors have Their service and had an issue. The tech came out and told them they need to re route the line, that ran over the top of my house. They wanted to bury a line that ran through my property to my neighbors. They asked my wife for permission at which point she told them they needed to deal with me, her husband about the request. I was never contacted. PERIOD. 2 days later I Come home to a trench running from my backyard to my front driveway. Come to find out they decided to lay the line without permission! I contacted charter and angrily expressed my issue with them. A supervisor came out to my house a day or so later telling me they have an easement and didn't need my permission. What do I want an apology? I told him to show me the easement- as I had already done my homework, contacting my title company. There was only 1 easement for pacific power! After 2 months of dealing with a regional manager, they finally agreed they had no easement and no right to bury the line on my property without my permission. I made them remove the line and negotiated a small cost to them to repair what they had done. However, due to their blatant disregard for personal property and lack of knowledge regarding their rights of easements I will never do business with them. I wonder how many other people they were able to strong-arm... Others who may not have taken the time to make sure charter was doing things legally and ethically... read more

This is the worst internet connection and customer service you could find. Unfortunately for me the part of Grants Pass I live in has no other options. It works when it wants to, cuts out, fragments and pixilates the pictures and will shut down for no reason. Charter claims there service is working and if they send out a service rep I may be charged. This is a joke. read more

I hate this company. Had them for 3 years and never had any issues. Then over the course of 2 months my bill went from $45 to $70. Started having tons of outages and no service in the house. They sent a tech out to fix it and added $50 to my bill for that without telling me. He said it was my router not their service, so I went and bought the one he recommended and it STILL didn't work. I called to cancel the service because it hadn't worked for over a month at this point. They canceled it for me but not without sending me another big fat bill Switching to century link instead. read more

Advertises = Fastest Internet speeds available starting at 60Mbps. Reality is a little above 40Mbps which is the guaranteed rate!! What is advertised (60Mbps) has very fine print and is not guaranteed!! Deceptive!! They will try to explain it varies from area to area, but does anyone get a guaranteed rate of 60Mbps, NO. They should change their advertisement to say = Fastest Internet speeds available starting at 40Mbps guaranteed! Bait and switch! read more

Let's start by saying the joke is on you if you live in Grants Pass as there is no other option here! So you're screwed either way. Most Spectrum 'employees' are very cool and do the best that they can with the tools they are given but spectrum itself as a joke. We have had six service calls in two years all for the same issue and it never gets resolved and the most that they would credit us was $35!! After 2 (TWO) years! I've spend more hours on the phone with Spectrum than I have speaking to my mother my entire life!! Issues with internet speed, and issues with cable TV CONSTANTLY not functioning correctly. If you can get another service -- DO IT!! even satellite is better than this BS. It's clear to us that spectrum as a company doesn't give a shit about their customers, and only the money. Let's talk about money for a second ... who the hell spends $20 million on a celebrity spokesperson and passes that on to the customers to pay for; now that's messed up!! There is something about this company that makes people irate! I swear every time I have to deal with them I want to cancel my service. I can't really put my finger on it maybe it's the way you get passed around from three you more customer service representative is every time you're trying to accomplish something with them or maybe it's the way they try to sell you something every time you just go into pay your bill? Maybe it's the long lines and other irritated people that are all just trying to pay their bill while the person in front of you is just trying to get out of there and they're trying to sell you more services as you politely decline they continue to tell you about the options and offers that they have. Anyways just move to an area where they do not have services I am so glad that even though I will be paying a little bit more for another company I'm just glad to finally be away from them! read more

Buyer Beware!! I had their service for years and suddenly got a double bill plus charges. When I called them they said " Oh, maybe there was a problem with your bank, call them"! Be careful when they install cable. They will try and charge you an installation charge. Also, they installed cable on a rental we own. The tenant found them drilling a hole in the wall to put in a new internet port. When asked why they were doing this when there was another port on the wall, they reportedly said because this is the way its done. They eventually agreed to pay for the repairs and setup the already installed internet port. read more

Not only do they call you constantly offering you services that no one wants. They charged me $50 to switch addresses. They disclosed that fee to me. I should've switched to any other service. a nice young man came to our house and promised that charter would pay all the disconnection and early termination fees if we left direct tv.....when we had direct tv, we both had dvrs that recorded four shows at a time, anyway, we fell for his speech....when the people came to install the new charter cable, they gave us boxes that looked like were from the Smithsonian. The guy who installed said go to the main place on rogue river hwy and they will give you two new small boxes. We went in and the guy behind the desk was not helpful at all, told us that they got a shipment in today but everything is gone. He then said come back next Tuesday and maybe we can get a smaller box. I was livid. Did I mention the humoungous box I have in my room doesn't even record. I am sorry I went with Charter. read more

Wow!!!! I do not know how this company sleeps at night!!! My husband is in the hospital, just had a life saving surgery and this company will not give me a few more days to pay my bill!!! They use shark tactics to get you to pay your bill, they bill you a month in advance then they threaten to shut you off for a service you haven't even used yet!!!!! they tell me they pro-rate...bull shit my service is interrupted all the time but yet my bill is never lower!!! If I could give this location a thousand thumbs down, I would. The folks at the counter do nothing to assist the customer with important issues like moving a cable box so it won't be damaged. After 8 weeks -going down to this office at 620 Rogue River Hwy and speaking with 2 different service reps whom I suspected of having frontal lobotomies and calling the service repair line at 1-855-336-9503, as this office advised me to do and leaving voice mails that were NEVER returned, I decided enough was enough... I called Charter's call center at 1-888-207-1540 to get assistance from service agents who knew what to do and cared enough to do their job correctly and assist the customer. If it were not for us -the customer, these people would NOT have a job! My order has been processed and will finally be addressed and corrected this next week. read more

I purchased our Internet service from charter. Tech came out and installed cable signed on the dotted line for high speed Internet and phone. Once I had everything installed about a week later Internet service stopped working. I tried to call spectrum defined out what was going on. They informed me that somehow on my line got messed up and the new tech would be able to come out on Tuesday but then we got disconnected and I haven't been unable to get high speed Internet from spectrum. Curious as to why they would transfer me to a system for approving 911 that was closed and then hung up on me after transferring to verify 911. Frustrated with the level of customer service the fact that I have to start things over again have a tech come out the second time despite already having a modem connected to the Internet is a palling to me. I don't understand how they could have miss placed my address and or canceled my service despite having somebody come and install their modem on their network and I even helped their tech do a poll string to get high-speed Internet cabling into the house. read more

They are really the only game in town when it comes to internet and it is a good service, but unfortunately giving them my internet business is not enough. They call me a minimum of once per week and have called at least 15 times to try to get me to sign up for their streaming tv service. I tried it the first time they asked, did not care for the service and cancelled it. Each time they call now I ask them to please quit harassing me but then I get yet another call 3-5 days later. So if you do decide to do business with them understand it comes at the price of constant harassment. read more

We keep waiting for the techs not to show up or to get charged for something we did not expect - and yet we continue to be surprised by the outstanding service we've been provided. Worst ever! I was paying $75.98 for internet and phone - which was $30. UNTIL I cancelled the phone service. In the real math world, $75.98 - 30 = 45.98 for internet service. Yet the guy at the store said that my bill would now be $65! All of a sudden, the phone had been "discounted to $9.99"! Ummmmmmmm, must be the new math? Bait and switch? The staff person seemed to think that my "new math" comment was quite funny. I however was not laughing. I think that he was rude. The internet service leaves much to be desired. Worst customer service ever!!! I live in a house where the landlords are out of town ( at other houses) and rent out the individual bedrooms and there are 8 tvs in this house. Recently, yesterday, I noticed the weather channel was stuck on a screen and didnt change, when I got up this morning same screen - so stuck for 18 hours. So I called to report a troubleshoot needed on the channel. Instead of thanking me and putting in a tech report, I got a run around about how they cant TS unless I give them the name and phone on the acct. I pointed out this was just a general call about the weather channel not about my address but she refused to budge and in the ended nothing was done, nothing was reported because I wouldnt give out landlord personal info.
