Medium well request served medium rare. Bread had to be asked for at 45'. Overall I expected far more given the reputation presumed standers of the CH brand, this experience fell far short. To clarify, yes it was thanksgiving and obviously holidays have a tendency to have some issues. To start, our reservation for 7:30 was not seated until 8:20 Our waiter, while polite was very overwhelmed and unorganized. She put in a solid effort with her team of 2 however several things were missed or forgotten. Appetizers were well served and of very nice quality. Especially the calamari and the crab stack. Salads were acceptable standard. Cream of crab soup was closer to the consistency of a very thick country gravy and could be easily eaten with a fork. Not a joke, we did try it. Most bowls left still full. Mane course went from well made in the case of lamb chops to less than public school lunch standard for the over cooked/ crumbling turkey doused in gravy with bone dry cornbread dressing. Desert was also a letdown. Lava cakes and pumpkin pie were forgotten and then no whipped cream. The cheesecake (chefs special) was a 6/10 at best, Costco cheesecake would be a good improvement. When I asked about whipped cream, the waitress left to check. 30 min later as we were leaving, she saw me walking out and informed me they had run out of whipped cream. A bit pointless at that stage of the game. Very disappointing and very underwhelming. For atmosphere, the view is beautiful and the restaurant itself is pleasant, but not worth the trip back and certainly not worth the price. read more

If you're looking for romantic views and great food then you have to check out Chart House in Annapolis! For starters we ordered the shrimp beignets (I didn't like them) the kimchi calamari which was so flavorful definitely get them! For dinner I had the shrimp pasta and whatever butter said they used was spectacular!!! I will say you only get 5 shrimp so add extra if you like shrimp like I do! For dessert we did the chocolate melting cake. Now I'm not a huge dessert person so It was just OK to me but my friend really loved it. The service was really great, he was super attentive and definitely knew a lot about the menu. If you're someone who enjoys views, you'll love watching all the boats go in and out of the harbor! The Chart House did a very nice job with New Year's Eve 2017. We made a late dinner reservation for 10:15 but arrived closer to 10 pm. They were still seating folks from 9:45 so we enjoyed a drink at the bar. The bartender, Kim, was very cheerful and friendly, even on one of the busiest nights of the year. We were seated around 10:30, were given a window table, and we had a great server, Brandon P., who was witty and attentive. I ordered the salad bar and the crispy coconut shrimp and my husband had clam chowder and the 9 oz. filet mignon. We enjoyed a bottle of wine. Just before midnight, they brought out flute glasses for a champagne toast. Folks strolled outside to watch the fireworks (in the freezing cold). It was a top notch evening. read more

Though I'm a local, I spend much more time on my boat than in fancy restaurants. But out of town friends we're here to celebrate a big retirement so we knew we needed to do something special. Chart house here we come. Food was delicious. Order the calamari appetizer and the Australian lobster for your entree. You'll not regret the chocolate lava cake either. The view is outstanding. I'll never tire of looking at Spa Creek but being here for Wednesday night raves made it that much better to have a window seat. By far our best thing though was the outstanding service. Amber greeted us warmly, knew her menu down to the ingredients so she was spot on to guide our guest with a dietary restriction. And she was personable! For an upscale restaurant, saying this is subpar would be far too generous. This is the second review I've ever written, and to say I am disgusted and livid by my family's experience would be an understatement. We paid $900 for subpar food, but that wasn't even the worse part. We were celebrating three generations of birthdays, and my grandmothers actual birthday. For starters, the hostess was the rudest woman we have ever encountered. She tried to seat us in the middle of a doorway (8 people) where overspill of people from the hostess stand were bumping into us and the servers were rushing in and out right next to the kitchen. When my grandmother politely asked if we could move she was incredibly rude and condescending we almost walked out right there (which we should have). We had even called a couple weeks in advanced when we made the reservation and ask if we could be seated by the windows near the water as it was a special occasion. Our waitress was arrogant and also pretty rude. My brother, who is 13, was ordering cokes and the waitress got annoyed he wouldn't order a specialty mocktail because she didn't want to have to keep going up to the bar to get cokes as their machine was broken. It took us forever to get our drinks and anytime we ordered one she'd sigh and roll her eyes because it was an inconvenience for her. They embarrassed my grandmother for spilling part of her drink on the tablecloth, but what they didn't realize is she has a medical condition that sometimes makes it hard for her to steady her hand. The waitress would also not stop trying to upsell us on stuff and if we didn't go for it she'd get an attitude. Now onto the food. The meals were inconsistent at best. 7/8 meals were a miss. Their king crab legs were a joke. A 1/4 of the size of what actual king crab legs are. The spicy tuna roll either wasn't spicy or they messed up our order and didn't care. The clams were so fishy and I only had one, but have been sick to my stomach since. The chilien sea bass was completely over cooked. The crab she soup was mediocre at best. The lobster risotto congealed together. They brought out our Ny strip completely raw despite asking for medium. We essentially paid $900 to be treated so poorly and unprofessionally, and eat mediocre food that Red Lobster could have done a better job preparing. Disappointing is an understatement. I've never been this livid from a dining experience before. My family used to come here for special events for over 15 years, but we will not set foot in this restaurant again. read more

So as my 40th festivities started to wind down the wife ended up booking a dinner party for us & the friends here. The set up by the water is amazing lovely restaurant. The parking isn't to bad depending on how crowded the place is you might have to walk a block or 2. So upon arriving we were seated with the rest of the party. Who were waiting on drinks. This is where it gets tricky & resulted in 3 our waiter Brandon completely horrible. He struggled all night with long waits for drinks, food, & even silverware. It got to the point it was easier to go to the bar & order your drinks. Plus I'm one that likes to go online to view the menu before I go to have an idea of what I might want. Unfortunately since covid the online menu is outdated compared to the menu they have upon arrival. But once we got past Brandon's slowness the food was amazing. Except for the cream of crab soup i fortunately. I'm a huge lover of cream of crab soup so to have this one which was pretty bland & I had to constantly pick pieces of crab shells out was disappointing. But I will say the main course made up for it. I went with the shrimp pasta & when I say it was delicious i promise you it's a must have. This is definitely a must visit if you're ever in Annapolis & want to have a nice dining experience (just make sure your waiter isn't Brandon lol) Plus I would recommend the Monarch Margarita it was the perfect blend of tequila & juice to give you a nice buzz but not drunk. read more

This review is for Happy hour only and not the full dinner experience. First off, the view is breath taking. It is right on the water, and Chart House has floor to ceiling windows so that you can take in the wonderful views! From my understanding, Chart House is a chain of waterfront restaurants. They open at 4:30 and there was a line waiting outside at 4:25 when we arrived. Happy hour is in the bar and lounge only, and the space wasn't humongous, so plan accordingly! I checked out their normal dinner menu and this restaurant is on the pricey end, but I think HH had some great deals. They have selections ranging from $4-7 food-wise on the menu. I ordered fish tacos, truffle fries, and my friend and I split shrimp/lobster spring rolls (I was hangry) To drink, I had a pomegranate mojito that was also on the HH menu. Our waitress was great and took care of us. She rang my friends drink in as a slightly different drink so that he could take advantage of HH as well which I thought was very nice of her. Once you add up all the food and drinks I still ended up paying about $50, but when you take into account having 2.5 apps and 3 drinks, that's pretty good! The food was all delicious. First thing I noticed was Chart House has dressy vibes but is totally casual if that's how you roll. We were a group of 7 and we were seated once half of our group arrived. It's right on the water so we had the gorgeous sunset during our meal. I had the Crispy Brussels Sprouts as an appetizer which had honey in the recipe. Yum! There were at least 3 other appetizers on the table that were totally consumed as well. My entree was Shrimp and Scallops. I'm not a risky diner and almost always will have salmon but this was well seasoned and a good sized portion. It's served with an interesting side that has just a small amount of asparagus in it. I took a chance since I hate asparagus and it was delicious. Didn't even notice the asparagus! Everyone else chose one of the dinners with the soup, entree and dessert included. This is a fairly pricey restaurant but the food is nicely prepared and our server, Brady was a 10 out of 10! We are an older group with lots of questions and dietary concerns but Brady took it all in stride, put multiple candles on our individual desserts as requested and added to our perfect experience here. It's way too expensive for most pocketbooks now, unless you're going on the company's dime, and with Ruth's Chris and Lewnes', why did Eastport need another steak house -- with a sushi bar and techno music, no less? It's as if someone in headquarters said let's throw everything at the wall and see what sticks. For these prices you'd expect New York City service, but it's the same old Annapolis servers you've seen at Chick and Ruth's. Please please please bring the old Charthouse back! read more

Bottom Line: Not nearly as nice as it used to be and the remodel is disappointing and awkward. What I love about the Chart House is that the building is an old boat house/dry dock and has excellent views of Ego Alley, the Naval Academy, downtown Annapolis, the Eastport Bridge and Spa Creek. Otherwise, this restaurant is mostly a disappointment. Back in the 1990s I loved the Chart House. They had cool tables with charts on them, service was impeccable and the salad bar was unexpected but always enjoyable. Over the years the Chart House has really gone down hill and I think the remodel from two years ago was a major misstep. Back in the day the lounge was situated along the large windows overlooking Ego Alley so it was easy for people to enjoy a cocktail and the view for a short while and then move on thus making room for others. Post remodel, the bar is now in the middle of the restaurant and there are tables along the windows. If you are able to get one of those tables then that is super awesome but since tables turn over much slower than a few seats in a lounge it seems like a lot less people get to enjoy the views. Also, the salad bar is now very far from the dining room and the bar is cramped. The food sounds and looks a lot better than it tastes. Our server was very friendly and refined but it seems like management had assigned her way too many tables. Overall, my recent Chart House experience was very disappointing so I think I'll stick to O'Leary's and Carroll's Creek in the future. read more

Chart house is an absolutely great place to take your friends and family when in Annapolis. The atmosphere and service is phenomenal. The food however can be lacking, we ordered the crab cake and cream of crab soup to start. The crab cake did not have filler but was exceedingly small, there was more corn as a garnish than crab it seemed and the cream of crab tasted too strong of wine. The best appetizer we enjoyed was the calamari. That being said, chart house is a great place to share a relaxing meal with your friends or family, the environment provides a great place for conversations and I felt completely safe here during COVID. read more

The appetizers and drinks at the bar were great, but once you get past that it went down hill. They tried seating us next to the broken fireplace. Uhhh, no. The cold draft that was coming down from there had me asking them to move us to better seating. I ordered the lobster stuffed fish, my husband ordered the prime rib (medium rare). My fish was overcooked and the lobster was just bread "stuffing" with a few pieces of lobster in it. Not worth $40. My husband's prime rib was practically raw and it was bone cold. This was the second time in 8 days that bae and I did date night (read early bird dinner at 5 pm) and were given the crappiest table in a nearly empty restaurant. Maybe we look poor? Anyway, that kind of *ish doesn't fly with me, and this was the second time I had to request that a 20 something brat on a power trip seat me at a decent table with a view. Other than that, service was fine. My salmon was way too salty, the bread wasn't super impressive, my date's steak was TINY. Having said that...the pasta that it came with it was AMAZING. Maybe I'm just saying that because i've been on a vegan soy pasta kick....but I'm still pretty sure those were the best noodles I've ever had. Would I come back here? Probably my favorite restaurant in all of Maryland. Yes, I know a big statement, but it NEVER DISAPPOINTS. First off, the location is breathtaking. The restaurant literally sits on the main annapolis waterway and you can see bots sailing across the water at your dining level. The ambiance and decor are so beautiful with exposed beams and fireplaces and big windows. You cannot go wrong with any of their drinks. Some of my favorites are their MANGO MOJITO and the POMEGRANATE MARTINI! So fresh and tasty! Happy hour here is a hidden gem to local annapolitans as it's the best in the city!! Could not give six stars but they deserved it. I have dined at the Chart House since the last millennium. My favorite item was the super salad bar. That is no more and if I had one suggestion, it would be to bring that back. That area is soon to be another Sushi bar in this fine restaurant that otherwise has no hint of Asian choices. There were fewer than desired vegetarian choices. We had two vege dishes, the mushrooms and asparagus. large in size and beautifully presented. The mushrooms came in a small cast iron skillet which kept them hot. The lava cake was a great finish to a special occasion dinner. The crab soup was top notch served with a basket of rolls. The very best part of dinner was the polished service provided by the wait staff lead by Amber. She was patient and welcoming. The reason for this 2 star review is solely the customer service. From the time I opened the door, the restaurant lacked customer service. The hosts and manager were not welcoming at all. When I gave the name of the party I was there for the manager seemed to have an attitude. She then motioned to the bar and rudely stated that I could go sit with 2 other guys that were with the same party because she isn't seating us until half the party is here. The President of my company walks in right behind me and the interaction repeated itself as she was just as rude to him. Once half of the party was there, she abruptly stated she could seat us. Then there was the server, she was super sweet... but slow! I'm not sure if they over sat her section or what, but each step of the order and food/drink delivery seems to be drawn out. Next was the bathroom! Horrendous! Two of the 3 stalls were out and instead of finding a good solution to block them off, they used a wet floor sign for one and the trash can for the other. The one working stall was low on toilet paper and there was only 1 paper towel left when I washed my hands. The saddest part is that an employee was leaving the bathroom when I entered, you would think she would let someone know it needed attention! Now for the good part of the review! The food! Delicious!!! We tried the following at our table. - Kim Chee Calamari - Baked Crab Dip - Octopus - Shrimp, Avocado, Mango Stack - FAVORITE - Maple Bourbon Glazed King Salmon - Peach Bourbon Glazed Scallops & Shrimp - Moroccan Mahi - Filet Migon - NY Strip - The Deserts were good, we tried them all. We came here for an anniversary dinner upon recommendations from several people. The positives: very easy to make reservations online, some free parking onsite/very close, nice interior/setting (we dined after dark, so there wasn't a lot to see, but I'm sure the many huge windows offer a great view during the day). The not so great: the food. We started with the kimchi calamari and coconut shrimp. The calamari was good calamari, but I'm not sure what was "kimchi" about it. There were a few fried veg, but nothing salty or spicy....it was more like squid tempura in yumyum sauce Coconut shrimp was fine. Our mains were grilled swordfish and "endless summer shrimp & scallops." This was 3 shrimp & 3 scallops in what I can only call a taco sauce, overcooked swordfish (more texture of canned tuna) & burned (not blackened) veg. The only dessert on the menu was a chocolate lava thing, and we're not huge chocolate fans so we passed. Too bad; I was excited to visit, but it let me down:( I've seen many great reviews from the past, so I hope this place can turn it around. read more

First time back at Chart House since it's been rebranded. Be prepared to spend a good amount of money. The prices are extremely high and you will need to buy sides if you have steak. That being said, the food was very good and cooked to perfection! We had the sea bass and the prime rib. ***My main problem with the new brand is the ambience. No longer can you go for a nice fancy date night on a Saturday night unless you want a club feel. They had a DJ that was bumping the music so loud you could barely have conversation. The waitress said they have a DJ Thursday through Sunday starting at 6pm. We were thoroughly disappointed to hear that. If you want to do something different then why not have a violinist or saxophonist playing modern music? Or play some Jazz? There's so many other options. Update. I have discussed the request for my $500 deposit given almost five years ago. I have discussed this with the Annapolis Restaurant, Corporate and Kait on this site. I made the deposit a year in advance for my daughter's graduation party from the Naval Academy. The graduation was cancelled 6 months early because of COVID and I cancelled the party at the Chart House. I have been trying to get my deposit back since. Is this anyway to run a business? I think not. Please don't book a party there unless you are willing to loose your deposit in case. It's a shame, we loved the restaurant... read more

My husband and I have been to Chart house several times and food has been decent, but mostly I love the location on the water and the decor, the service has been pretty good, some better than others. My husband surprised me with Mother's Day weekend reservations and a friend told me I had better check their menu as things had changed since being rebranded as Chart house prime. The prices are astronomical! I was so disappointed. I canceled our reservations. I am going to have to hear from others than the food and service is top notch, and then some, before paying those prices. I'm naturally drawn to water. So when my date told me he had plans for dinner in Annapolis, I got excited. I called Chart House to see if I needed to make a reservation. The young lady who answered the phone said, "no but it's preferred." I told her I wanted to make a reservation, she told me they were booked for the evening. I was slightly disappointed but I decided to go inside to see for myself. The dinning room was practically empty. I'm so very glad I didn't listen to the hostess. We were seated in the corner...perfect spot for a water lover! The view was amazing!!! Our server, I belive his name was Brandon. Brandon was amazing! We had a question about one of the appetizers and the precise description Brandon gave us was amazing!!! It was perfect and the appetizer was out of this world. I do not remember the name but it was layers of cucumber, mango salsa, peppers, crab and shrimp meat...it was divine!!!! The combination of great company, the beautiful view of the moon reflecting on the water, boats docked and amazing food was the perfect combination to send me straight to my zen zone. My back was to everyone, I turned around for a brief moment to take a look at the dining room and it was now full. If I had my favorite blanket, I think I would have sat in that corner until sunrise. Oh! I can't forget the drinks... they were made to perfection! Thank you Brandon for adding to a very magical evening. This spot is located off the water with a nice view of the waterfront. We came here for a holiday party and it was amazing. The staff was great and the food was delicious. We sat in a closed room that still allowed a bit of the water view - it was nice time so the view wasn't a big deal. There was a table set up with crap dip, cheese, crackers and fruit. We had red and white wine along with soda pop. Liquor wasn't part of the holiday party menu but a few did order some tasty drinks. The main course meal options all sounded yummy - Prime Rib, Fish, and Crab Cake. I got the Prime Rib with mashed potatoes and green beans. It was amazing. The dessert was a delicious chocolate brownie with vanilla ice cream topped nicely on it. I'd like to come back on my own to try more items on the menu and during the day to get a nice water front view. I didn't take pictures because it was a formal holiday party and I didn't want to be rude with my phone yelping. I'll definitely get some snaps next time. read more
