I researched storage units all over Cville and read hundreds of reviews before settling here. SO glad I did. This is actually one of the least stressful aspects of the move. I was able to easily purchase/rent a unit online. All the units are inside of a new building with no outside access, which makes me feel better about security. There are several different unit sizes to choose from and all of them are either temperature or climate controlled. After securing the space online, we rolled up in the biggest U-Haul on mother Earth, hoping for a smooth unloading and packing of the unit. We were immediately greeted by William who set us up with a passcode for the door, helped us figure out where to park (and at which angle, for optimal unloading), showed us the elevators and made sure we knew he was available if we needed anything. He couldn't have been any more welcoming. The building had plenty of flatbed hand trucks to make unloading/loading a breeze. The elevators are quick moving and plenty spacious to get your stuff in and out. If you go during "office hours", you can also buy supplies, including a lock for your unit. They aren't expensive and they're much better than a traditional square old-school padlock. For the price, the unit sizes, the security and the EXCELLENT customer service, you absolutely cannot beat this place!! Btw, this is located behind Wawa at Pantops, across from McDonald's and beside the new Holiday Inn. Maps tried taking us somewhere across the street, and I've sent an update, but just in case anyone is headed there, you'll know exactly where to go.

When I drove up to the facility it looks spectacular from the hwy 29. My code worked, I found my unit with the green tag just as the representative advised me. The unit was super clean , the climate control hallway was clean the facility is well lit at night! My move her was just perfect! I have stored other places but this facility by far is one of the nicest in the area, I would even say In the state!

The owner even debated with me over some of the damage as the crew member denied it. We felt that they use nice polite workers that appear to work hard. However, there was no crew leader and it was a free for all loading and unloading our belongings. We had everything packed and marked as to where it should be placed in the new home, it just didn't happen 50% of the time unless we were on top of them constantly. Young guys that seem to have this as a way to make a living and no skin in the game, so to speak. We rented an outdoor non-climate controlled unit. We had a lot of spiders (which, yes is a problem at all storage places) and stink bugs in the unit. Stink bugs hid in our cardboard boxes and we've been finding them as we open our boxes, so I'd recommend using plastic storage bins and sealed tops if you rent a non-climate controlled room. The units are a hecka lot cheaper than the Public Storage close to UVa. So overall, I'd recommend this self-storage.

When I rented the space it was at peak time and he went out of his way to get me the unit when there were literally no storage units in the whole city!! The rates are reasonable.
