The parking lot could be a little larger with more spaces... once a few people and moving trucks show up at the same time it makes everything a little crazy. The building is protected by a security keypad and cameras to make you feel safer. I have found a few mouse droppings on top of/in my accessible boxes after leaving my belongings on-site but no boxes had been eaten into (nosey meeces). No food is permitted on-site in case you were wondering. Hopefully that problem gets rectified immediately. I understand that the rodent could have hitched a ride from another patron or broken in from outside of the unit but hopefully the staff have protocols in place to tackle these pests. Other than that the parking lot and interior of the building stay pretty clean. Unfortunately an unplanned factory phone reset erased my pictures.

When I drove up to the facility it looks spectacular from the hwy 29. My code worked, I found my unit with the green tag just as the representative advised me. The unit was super clean , the climate control hallway was clean the facility is well lit at night! My move her was just perfect! I have stored other places but this facility by far is one of the nicest in the area, I would even say In the state!

It's easy to drive onto their property and unload, or load right outside your storage locker. They can accommodate large and tall trucks. You must provide your own lock, they also sell them. I'm unsure how large they offer, but I got a 5x15. I would recommend. The only reason not a five is dealing with signing paperwork.

We rented an outdoor non-climate controlled unit. We had a lot of spiders (which, yes is a problem at all storage places) and stink bugs in the unit. Stink bugs hid in our cardboard boxes and we've been finding them as we open our boxes, so I'd recommend using plastic storage bins and sealed tops if you rent a non-climate controlled room. The units are a hecka lot cheaper than the Public Storage close to UVa. So overall, I'd recommend this self-storage.

While making the deal with John, it seemed to go good, however, we found out afterwards there was important information he left out and was not offered! We moved on May 3rd 2025. First,they were late to the location. I got worried, but they showed up 30 minutes or so later. I was told they ran late from an earlier move. So I figured no worries, I was just glad they showed up. The moved seemed to go great, they were nice guys, it was pretty hot out and they worked hard! Once the move was complete, I thanked them and tipped them very well and they left. When we turned on one of the TV's (2 - year old, 75 inch smart TV), exactly where they delivered it and left it, it had a huge crack across the top along with other cracks and white lines going down it. (My boyfriend did tell one of the movers he was worried how he handled the TV and where and how he set it down. And the mover basically told him to hush that it's his job and he knows what he's doing!! ) I was very upset, as I paid good money for that TV. We called the gentleman that we made the deal with, John, and he stated we need to file a claim, but he wasn't sure of the outcome since we didn't have the insurance. We advised him we were not offered insurance and were unaware of that, he admitted he didn't offer it because he knew we were already on a budget. That should have still been offered to us regardless!! Then he asked how they moved the TV, we told him with a moving blanket, he explained it should have been moved in a special box that is around $100. So again, another issue on their behalf. He gave us the info to file a claim, we filed and had tried contacting them by phone and emailed numerous times. They never answer the phone and I never did get any calls back. They took 6 weeks to say they'd give us $50 for our TV that was over $800, two years ago (now worth $618). They said it was because we didn't have the coverage!! But, how are we supposed to be aware of it when we weren't told about it? Also, they moved our TV incorrectly, another issue that was out of our hands and not our fault. I am so disheartened by this. That TV was supposed to go to my daughter when we moved, she was so excited to have it and now all we will get is $50 and a broken TV to take to the dump. Just so wrong and unfair. I would not recommend them after this!!!

The owner even debated with me over some of the damage as the crew member denied it. We felt that they use nice polite workers that appear to work hard. However, there was no crew leader and it was a free for all loading and unloading our belongings. We had everything packed and marked as to where it should be placed in the new home, it just didn't happen 50% of the time unless we were on top of them constantly. Young guys that seem to have this as a way to make a living and no skin in the game, so to speak. Having said all this, we enjoyed talking with them and actually was able to gift them quite a few pieces of belongings we couldn't keep and helped them personally. The company centralizes its sales and marketing into a single office in NY leaving the local people free to focus on operations (makes sense). The NY folks were very helpful, and the local operator was responsive as well. We would DEFINITELY look to use these people for any of our future storage needs.
