Great ice cream we had in Saugatuck, and lovely vibes befitting of a vacation town local spot. We went here a few times, and it was delicious each time. My kinds got whatever the brightest available flavor was, and I got a graham cracker ice cream with little bits of chocolate honeycomb in it. It was a milder flavor as expected, but so good I almost got it twice. The second time in I got a "Blueberry Waffle Cone" flavor that was vanilla ice cream, blueberry swirl, and small chocolate covered ice cream cone pieces. Phenomenal. Hard to pick between the two, and both better than what we had across the street. It gets busy in here, and there can be a little pressure of the line pushing as we sample, but hold your ground and try a few because they have a lot of fun flavors to explore. Lovely place. PS they charge a smaller fee for CCs but you can pay debit or cash to dodge it. Looking forward to returning again sometime down the road. read more

Very cute! Very unique flavors. For example, lavender and buttercream. Very subtle. The only thing I can recommend is putting a trashcan outside to keep the area clean. There's a bench that has two sides so four people can sit. read more

Cute little ice cream shop off the main strip in Saugatuck. Has a wide selection and variety of flavors and Dole whip! I decided to opt for the dole whip, which was pineapple with the option to swirl with strawberry . Refreshing on a hot summer day. We carried our two small dogs in, as they were dog friendly. We ate outside on a bench, as there wasn't much sitting room inside but we stayed inside for a minute to enjoy the air conditioning. Definitely worth a stop in read more

Cute ice cream shop in the town of Saugatuck. A great variety of flavors to choose from. I got peanut butter overload and o enjoyed it

My friends and I were in need of an ice cream fix and we stumbled upon Charlie's! They had so many flavors it was hard to choose! I got the mint chocolate chip ice cream. While it wasn't the best mint chip I've had, I did enjoy it! They only had a few dairy free options which was surprising due to fast amount of flavors they had. One of my friends got the dole whip which they liked! The staff were friendly and fast when serving us. There was however very limited seating inside which was a little disappointing. If I'm ever in saugatuck again I would give this place another try! read more

The best spot in town to grab ice cream! The flavors are amazing, we had coffee Oreo, and grasshopper. Would get both again! And don't miss out on the freshly made (and also warm!) waffle cones. You walk into this place and it smells amazing! 11/10 recommend read more

This company charges a 4% credit card fee that is added on with no warning. Further, the maximum credit card surcharge allowance by law is a maximum of 3%. They pay at most probably 1.5% to 2%, so this is a bait and switch they do. And they also prompt on their point of sale for a minimum of 15%. This is especially gross considering they are charging $8 for a single scoop cone. Plus the ice cream sucked. read more

incredibly ugly AI sign out front, gives the whole exterior a cheap and lazy look, not to mention the enviromental impact when it would have been just as easy to pay someone $5 to make. extremely dissapointing. ice cream has also gone downhill in quality. also a 4% credit card charge is ridiculous for a busy tourist town, especially when you consider its illegal to charge more than 3% (which they acknowledged in another review from a month ago and still nothing has changed). employees were incredibly rude and did not greet us. read more

This is my favorite place to get a cone in downtown. They have great flavors, the waffle cones are warm, and the price is reasonable. I could do without the surly teenagers who work there. Apparently, saying " hi, can I help you" is beyond what they are willing to do. But ok. read more

Stopped in for some ice cream and enjoyed it on their patio. They have tons of options but definitely seemed a little pricey, but it's w tourist area. Asked for a sugar cone but was given a cake cone, oh well. We were battling the heat and everything was melting so fast anyways so we asked for a few cups. The kid working was fine and the owner was walking around as well cleaning the place. We were the only customers but it was a strange time during the week. We would come back. read more

This place is amazing!!! It's so good I came here TWICE in my very short trip here in Saugatuck. The honey lavender ice cream is HEAVENLY. Not too sweet either. It's dangerous because I can keep eating it nonstop. I can't find anywhere else that has this creamy honey lavender flavored ice cream. Seriously. Their one scoop is massive so they give generously. They make their waffle cones from scratch so it's served warm and fresh. I can't imagine what their other flavors taste like. I would make a trip out here again just for their ice cream. What a great way to wrap up the summer by trying their ice cream here. Hoping to come back here next summer with friends to try it also! read more

This place is very adorable and they have a wide selection of ice creams. They are dog friendly, so we were allowed to bring our dogs in, which they loved because it meant they got to sniff for any ice cream droplets on the ground while we decided. I ultimately went with a scoop of Malted Milk Balls, which was a chocolate malt ice cream with Whopper bits in it, a pup cup for my dog (which was one giant scoop of vanilla!), and a pint of Blue Moon ice cream - my personal favorite. We didn't get a chance to try the Blue Moon because spoiler alert I got food poisoning later this evening, and then we forgot to take it out of the freezer to bring it back home with us after we left our AirBNB the next day. The Malted Milk Balls was decent, but I'm a malt aficionado and it didn't taste all that malt-y to me and didn't seem to actually have bits of Whopper in there - it seemed like there were just shaved bits of chocolate in there for texture, but I never tasted the malted insides of Whopper through my entire scoop. Still delicious because ice cream is ice cream, just wasn't what I was hoping for it to be being advertised as malt! We went in early November and I think Charlie's was planning to close up shop for the season very soon, so everything was half off, which was a wonderful bonus! Full Disclosure: I got a semi-intense form of food poisoning this night and I wasn't sure if it was from Charlie's (because I don't think I'm lactose intolerant) or The Southerner, which we had for dinner. I don't normally get food poisoning, so this was very surprising to me. We went to Charlie's first (had dessert first), and then picked up food from The Southerner to take home, and it wasn't until about an hour after we finished eating dinner that the food poisoning hit. read more

Charlie's Round the Corner - Cookies and cream ice cream - Ice Cream & Frozen Yogurt Near Me - Saugatuck, Michigan

Mostly Mooville ice cream, cheerful but leisurely service. The people behind the counter are friendly, but only one seems to work at a time, and all seem to need more coffee. Ordering, paying, and getting an extra spoon all took twice as long as I thought they needed to. The ice cream is reasonable --- we tried the Super Cow (aka Superman) flavor, which is never one of my favorites; this one seemed more "blue" than "blueberry", more "yellow" than "banana". 1950s nostalgia, rather than artisanal goodness. So, nothing terrible, but I'm not sure I'll be back. read more

Charlie's is an ice cream lover's heaven! When first walking through the door you are welcomed by the delicious smell of homemade waffle cones. Then your eyes meet the ice cream counter and see what I believe was more than 20 ice cream flavors! For a single scoop they even all ow you to get two flavors - I went with a coffee cream and a chocolate brownie flavor - both were rich, smooth, and of course tasty! The waffle cones was also very crisp and would have likely been delicious in its own! Definitely need to hit up Charlie's if you are in Saugatuck! read more

10/10 recommend! Very friendly staff. Fresh waffle cones with creamy ice cream and lots of flavors to choose from. Love their pup cups.

Charlie's has tons of unique and delicious flavors to choose from with a friendly owner.

New ownership is horrible! Have been enjoying this ice cream for years but after two horrible experiences, will never return. THEY DROPPED ICE CREAM ON FLOOR AND PRETENDED TO REPLACE. Lady running the show is extremely rude and surprisingly the kids are as well. The first time, yelled at for asking to use the bathroom (which used to be public) and when asked for child size they said no, when asked for smaller than the last scoop they refused and were extremely rude (still offered to pay the same just didn't want huge scoops for toddlers). 2nd experience, ordered 3 chocolate chip ice creams (single scoop- 2 cup, 1 cone); after they scooped 2 of 3 I said "this isn't chocolate chip"; kid said "then what is it?", I said "it's cookie dough" they said, "oh ya we don't have chocolate chip" and kept scooping. Went to pay, the cashier swings the iPad for me to sign which knocked the cup of ice cream that he placed on the counter onto the ground. He said "you dropped it", when I disagreed he went back and pretend to scoop a new one but just scrapped some of the top off. They gave us a new one after confronted about it but never apologized and continued to act very rude. Do not waste your money here. read more

Stopped in for ice cream after dinner. We were impressed by their large selection of ice cream, and although there was a line it moved fast. The staff was polite, but not overly enthusiastic or helpful. I ordered the Chocolatenator and it was okay. Had chunks of Oreos and fudge pieces. My husband ordered a milk shake and it was more milk than shake. Very runny and tasted like milk. When asking the staff to remake it, they seemed to not know how to handle the situation. Overall the ice cream was okay, but I wouldn't order anything other than a straight scoop. read more
