Charley's has always been my go-to for mall food. It's junk food but it's so tasty. I usually go with the buffalo chicken or California chicken. They are both tasty and the food always comes out warm and fresh. I usually upgrade my fries and get them deluxe! ONG so good with melted cheese, bacon, and ranch. So I was in the mall and I wanted a little snack but not anything big and I seen this other lady with these cheese fries and bacon from Charley's. So I went to try it and they were very tasty. I'm glad I got a regular size and not a large portion because they are very filling. The fries were crispy, and it actually came with more bacon than I thought which was a nice surprise because most places like to skip on the bacon and cheese. We love coming to the mall just before heading in for a movie and the Dillard's store is a quick way to cut through to the food court on the second floor of the mall from the AMC parking lot. I really just wanted the cheesesteaks in the coupon advertisement on the app and they didn't get it right. The last time I could tell they were mad I ordered a small cheesesteak just before closing. I honestly understand about pre-closing and I never ask for a smile or anything. But we're usually there later in the day since I don't have a car and the partner usually works until 5 or 6. My daughter said that we ordered small sandwiches and the girl pointed out that she gave us a 10% discount. I assumed there was a special going on and the price would be similar to my small order(why else would she make that decision for us) and ordered and paid. When we sat down I looked at the receipt realizing we actually paid nearly $20 more for a huge meal we weren't going to eat. I did ask at the counter and the worker snidely suggested that I agreed to her changes she made to my order. She was deliberate in her actions and wanted our bill to be more. What I don't understand is why? Are the workers on commission? Do they bonus on store sales? Although it's not a cheesesteak in Philly and it's hard to compare, I will attest that for a cheesesteak, it was delicious. Made with 100% USDA meat, you can taste the quality of the meat in this delicious hero. In my opinion, this is the closest thing to the real deal one can get because Charley's serves their cheesesteak with the real deal: provolone. I chose to get mine with everything on it but mushrooms, so I had onions, green peppers, lettuce and tomato with mayonnaise. My mother scoffed at me when I told her I got mine with mayonnaise until she took a bite of mine. Ma, don't sleep on my suggestions, you know I'm a foodie, right? lol we will definitely be getting another cheesesteak in the very near future and has officially been added to our rotation. Every time I would go visit my boy Joey at Camden, NJ as he is a pastor there; he would always get the ever delicious cheese steaks from Philly. I've been in Florida going on 7 years now, and I hadn't eaten a real Philly Steak since ... Until NOW. The steak was thin, had a bite to it and quite frankly took me to Philadelphia for the first time in seven years. Customer Service was phenomenal and truly welcome. Service was quite slow, it took 10-15min to make a jalapeño pepper fry and when I received it, the cheese wasn't hot and was drenched over the whole fry. The other toppings were alright, definitely wasn't worth $5 plus tax. I will say that they manger noticed that I was waiting for a while and sincerely apologized and gave me a coupon so I appreciated that. Overall I would just say that this location needs to work on the pace and speed in which they get out orders. The Chicken California is what keeps me coming back. It comes with provolone cheese & ranch but I add mushrooms, grilled onions, & peppers like the Philly. It's located in the Altamonte Mall so expect a line. Their bacon & cheese fries are yummy (bacon...nuff said) & their fruity lemonades are made with real fruit and have the fruit chunks & are so tasty.
