This company steals your money. Not only they have minimum payment. So they overcharge you in general. They also open the balance on your account without your consent. I just bought an electric car and my condo complex has charging stations which require the use of Chargepoint to use them. So the day after I got the car I signed up for Chargepoint and requested a card be sent so I could charge my car with ease. That was 3/23 and the card never arrived in the mail. I called a couple of times and they said I had to wait 10 business days. Finally that time was up and I called again - and they expedited a 2nd card - that was over a week ago. This time it was supposed to get here in 3 to 5 business days. Finally this AM I got the card - it's 4/14 - some 22 days after I first ordered it. It seems incredible that sending out a card so you can readily access the charging station would take so long. It makes no sense - Im in Oakland and the company is in Sunnyvale CA - just across the bay. So this part of Chargepoint's operation I find ridiculously inefficient. There is no reason why they can't send out a card and get it to customers within a week. I will say that for the most part the customer reps have been responsive and helpful but the 10 business days to get a card needs to be improved. read more

Signed up for an account as I havent been using greenlots charges at the office due to stay at home orders. After a single charge I will not be using chargepoint again. I drive a 2013 chevy volt and the electricity provided costs 50% more than it would cost to fill up with gasoline. I am also not able to turn off the auto renew feature which will rebill me when the balance drops below $5 on my account. I want to use my $10 deposit and be done with this company. I am on the board of my condo HOA and was excited to talk to Charge Point regarding adding chargers to our carport. I am saddened, disappointed and angry that my conversation was like talking to a sleazy car salesman; plus negligence, in not following up with promised information. Horrible company. Never had a customer service rep be so unhelpful, answer every question with "that's not my job" (directing me to the right department isn't your job?), and then when I ask for a manager, say no thank you and hang up. read more

$2 per hour, and they everytime my balance goes below $10, they take another $10 from my bank account without asking permission to do it. Not cool. There's no control. I would no recommend ChargePoint. read more

ChargePoint is THE WORST. They charged me 260$ with out asking me. The stations are always broken. They charge you the equivalent of 5$ per gallon. TERRIBLE business model because it is inefficient in solving problems. They are over-priced. They take an average of 20-30 minutes to activate a charger over the phone because their app doesn't work no matter how many times you update it, and the cards always fall apart within a month and the customer service reps just want to rush you off the phone after reading through a script that almost NEVER applies to a real-world situation. They also charge you for each second that the charger has been authorized from over the phone by the customer service BEFORE your car is even plugged in at a rate of 0.25$ per minute or 0.125$ per 30 seconds. Horrible company, I can't believe the illegal acts they commit. Taking someone's money from their bank account WITHOUT them authorizing it, is illegal. The monopoly they run for the charging stations is deplorable and disgusting, EV drivers are trying to save the planet while these blood-thirsty monsters are out for your money. ChargePoint makes so much money off of the customers even though they do NOT own the stations NOR do they pay any money at all to fix them when they break, they also do not pay for the electricity, the station owner handles all of this. I can completely guarantee that everything mentioned here is the truth, I have documented everything. Maybe the truth will get out there and help someone. read more

Customer service is a joke. They have no knowledge of the product and want to argue with the customer. Asked to speak to a manager multiple times and the guy put me on ahold and just came back with more questions. Wish my place of business never went with chargepoint what a joke. read more

The app has worked well for me and I was pleased to have one at my work for the first time...so I was unaware of the ridiculous billing practices they employed. Imagine my shock when my automatic debit to fund my charging jumped from $30 per load to $110 without warning! I discovered that they assess your monthly use after 3 months and debit the next month upfront without warning! I wish my job paid me out on the 1st for the work I will do...It is BS that there is no way to control how you load the account. They suggested the only alternative was to call at the station daily to work around it but my work structure offers it only to employees with an access code that can only be used with the pay for the month plan. Plus it took so long to figure out that I was late after 20 mins on the phone. The staff was courteous and tried to help me but their hands are tied by this billing practice. I mean it was a hostage situation.....And because I'm an Environmentally aware person I overpay for the charge with added parking fees that make it more costly than gas....this billing practice adds insult to injury. I hope that some regulations on billing practices are on the horizon in this world of auto billing requirements connecting businesses with our financial lifeline...where they can do real harm. read more

I tried to sign up on my android phone and windows computer and in both instances the sign-up system would just lock up and not proceed

Our office campus management had Chargepoint stations installed about two months back. Took over 6 weeks to "unveil" them to tenants. Several (all?) of us are still unable to charge our EVs, a couple of weeks into the stations being "operational". Chargepoint customer service seems clueless. Just eager to redirect complainants to electric utility company, and claim the issue has been resolved. read more

Would not recommend this company to anyone. I worked with them as a distributor, and they will be oh so willing to take an order to you, and then when you need post sales support, they dump you. The east coast rep continued to tell me that "Oh it's in my local offices hands. There's nothing I can do." That's a bad rep. Own your territory and help the distributors!! read more

My sister, my seven year old and I purchased lunch from a truck outside the Charge point located on East Hacienda. We sat down at the vacated tables located outside and the woman who was running the front desk ran outside. She asked (very rudely) if we were employees and when we said no she said we had to leave. She then said there were signs stating the tables were employee only, which there are not. We asked her where the signs were and she said everywhere. She started to walk away while giving severe attitude to my sister and watched us leave. My son kept asking why the lady was so mean to us, and I honestly have no idea. read more

I consistently have bad experiences with this company. Especially with respect to their customer service. Today I did not have my physical card handy and they sent me on a wild goose chase to find a charging station that was not having "network issues". At one point they sent me back to a station I had already been too. I was hung up on by one customer service representative. read more
