I had one good experience with these guys when then installed a tesla charger at my old house and…read moreat terrible experience with them with they installed a tesla charger at my new house. The first time they did it they installed a 240 volt outlet in my garage and I plugged a tesla mobile connector into that, worked well. The next time they did it at the new house, I thought they would do the same thing but apparently they stopped installing the mobile connectors. Now they only install the wall connector which is a large sci-fi looking thing that is permanently affixed to the wall. It's also more expensive than the mobile connector. None of this was made clear to me when we started the project with Grayzer. They came to my house, got about 90% done with the job then saw the equipment I had and said "sorry we don't do those anymore". They explained the situation to me but since I didn't have the equipment they wanted they couldn't finish. They did however insist on being fully paid for the job. Stupidly, I agreed to pay them and they left saying "call us when you have the wall connector". That was a mistake. Never fully pay for the work until the job is fully done! So I bought one and scheduled a time to finish at which point they said they would need to charge another trip fee to come back out. I explained that it wasn't made clear to me that I didn't have the right equipment until the job was almost complete but they didn't care. They were insistent that I give them another trip fee before they would come back. Frankly they were pretty rude about it too. Like really rude. Whoever I was emailing was belligerent and completely unprofessional. It was extremely frustrating. I tried to explain that as the professionals in this situation they should be the ones checking that all the equipment is ready to go before the job starts. At the time I didn't know the difference between a mobile connector and a wall connector. I didn't even know that tesla had multiple options for wall chargers. I had what I used the first time so I figured it would work. It's not that the trip fee was so much money but after having to drag this out over two visits, spend another $150 to upgrade to a wall connector, a trip fee on top of all that was a bit much. In my opinion, a reasonable company would just accept responsibility and waive the second trip fee. Or at least offer to split it. But not these guys. They dug their trench and they weren't coming out. It was childish and stupid and I'm embarrassed for them. And to boot, the people they sent out to finish up the job were jerks. One of them was yelling and cussing at somebody on their phone like a crazy person in my garage. Honestly, these guys are like school on a Sunday -- no class. I guess this is what happens when you get to be a popular company. Customer service and basic decency goes out the window because what do you care, you have plenty of business. Right? Yeah right.

So I was in the process of adding a Tesla Wall Connector to my home. I sent out a request to three…read moredifferent companies ( all Tesla Certified installers ). All were prompt in their responses and provided well written proposals. Only Grayzer included the cost of a permit in their proposal. Further a friend had their wall panel upgraded and their Tesla Wall Connector installed by Grayzier and recommended them highly. After looking at the reviews for the different certified installers, and given that a permit is required in my town to install an EV charger, I went with Grayzer. They provided a date and service window ( a week in advance of my appointment ) and the electrician, Max, pinged me about an hour prior to his arrival. I showed Max my ideal location for the Tesla Wall Connector and he was able to accommodate without having to cut away any drywall or running conduit outside the wall ( YMMV ). Very friendly, professional and knowledgable. He took the information/pictures required by Tesla and by my town's permitting authority, commissioned the Wall Connector, showed my how to add it to the Tesla Application on my iPhone and verified that it was charging at the specified rate (48 amps). He was happy to answer any questions I might have, and I am just delighted by the service and work done. I would recommend highly to friends, neighbors, et al. All in all, quick, fast, efficient, and professional. Cleaned up work area when done. Thank you!

Ever see that SNL skit where Will Farrell shouts (to no one in particular), "I drive a Dodge…read moreStratus!!" as a comment about his position as an upwardly mobile, white-collar breadwinner to an unappreciative family? Well, "I drive an electric car!" and as a card-carrying crunchy granola hippie, I just **love** that we have a DC fast charger and a few other green gimmicks at this stretch of 2nd street now called Electric Drive in downtown's newly rechristened "Seaholm Ecodistrict". Besides being able to completely recharge my car in 30 minutes via stored wind-generated power (heck, that barely gives me time to do the 3-mile loop on the trail from across the adjacent Pfluger Bridge), I can hang out at the cool shaded kiosk by Sol Design Lab and charge up my phone via solar panels. If you're not a runner/walker/biker or people watcher, you can also park & charge via slower (4 hour) Level 2 ports while shopping at the nearby Trader Joe's or dining at Boiler 9 or True Food. Soon we'll also have that gorgeous new Central Library open next door, too. From the Austin Energy press release from the opening in March 2017, "Electric Drive is powered entirely by renewable energy. Electric Drive offers dedicated parking for two electric vehicle charging stations including a fast-charging DC port, and a solar-powered kiosk that can recharge electric bikes, scooters, motorcycles, laptops and mobile devices using integrated USB ports and electrical outlets. The kiosk, located alongside the Butler Hike & Bike Trail, also provides shade from the sun's rays during the day, and LED lighting at night. Electric Drive demonstrates Austin Energy's commitment to the growing electric vehicle market and renewable energy." More about the launch (with video) is available here: http://www.twcnews.com/tx/austin/news/2017/03/27/austin-energy-unveils-electric-drive.html The docking of a star has to do with the fact that #1, you have to pay to park in the metered spots every day but Sunday (even though the EV charging service is free), and #2, this station is notorious among EV drivers for being out of service more often than not. Austin is still growing and figuring out how to make this infrastructure work; they still have some work to do. When the station is down, call 1-888-758-4389 (mentioning Chargepoint charger #5DB2) for assistance. You can also try this map of other COA PlugIn EVerywhere network chargers around town http://austinenergy.com/wps/portal/ae/green-power/plug-in-austin/electric-vehicle-drivers/electric-vehicle-drivers . There are 250 almost free (you have to pay $25 every 6 months for the keychain access card/dongle) charging stations in Austin's network (and still others at stores like Whole Foods and Walgreens), so don't lose hope if you're low on juice! We gonna rock down to... Electric Ave... er, Drive. Dang it! They really missed an opportunity here. Poor Eddy Grant will be getting no royalties on this one.

Less than 2 weeks later my main panel overloaded and took out all my 240V systems. I scheduled a service call and their master electrician Clifford Black came out to assess the damage. I was assured that they would replace the guts inside my main panel free of charge. Following this, I was left without 240V for 3 days, and I had to remind them to send me an electrical proposal on paper. Now they claim my panel had thermal damage and refuse to restore my system unless I pay them for a full panel upgrade. In addition to this, during the service call they took my breakers that melted making it harder to get the cause diagnosed by another electrician. I was left without 240V systems in the Texas heat for over a week. Update: On the followup they said my part for replacing my panel was not available. This was not actually communicated with me and the owner is trying to save face. In reality they instead sent me a bill and refused to restore my service. They then ghosted me for any follow up.

Clifford and Chavez were a bit ahead of schedule and called to confirm if they could come early, which was fine. They worked diligently to install a Tesla Gen 3 Wall Charger. Really nothing more I could ask for, I like it when companies are thorough, punctual, and to the point!
