    Oatmeal

Most people don't get excited over oatmeal, but let me tell you...Charcoal's oatmeal is the best around. Fruit, walnuts if you want, a dash of brown sugar, and a bit of cream that you can add and it's a meal! The atmosphere is perfect with a view of the beautiful Delaware River. Coffee and tea served in really cool mugs. If you have room after breakfast, I'd highly recommend the donut. It's not your regular donut though. Sugared donut with a bit of warm caramel drizzle. Share with a friend...or not.

The wait was a while. They were quite busy for brunch. Food is simple. We did have a nice river view. Good coffee.

I ordered the broccoli rabe & cheese omelette. This is usually my go to order - it's super light, but filling! The servers are always great here! This is one of my favorite brunch spots because of the beautiful views of the Delaware. Perfect breakfast spot!

Loved this little well loved town favorite, our future daughter in law has been coming here since she was little. Nice upstairs with a view of the river. Very friendly service, excellent coffee, delicious food. We would be regulars here, I am sure.

    Brekkie along the Delaware River

Called to see availability of brekkie for two. What Luck!! There was an open spot for us in about an hour. And a window seat too! Nice welcoming servers. She took our orders and we enjoyed the View of the river flowing. So gorgeous. . We ordered eggs Benedict & I got avo toast. The delightful waitress enticed us with their famous freshly made donut in caramel sauce. So much was delightful. Although it was very loud. Lots of kids testing their parent's patience.

Breakfast was good, service was good and the view is great! It's a nice place to get breakfast. Standard breakfast fare. Tad pricey.

    Ask the Community - Charcoal

    Do they have gluten-free options?

I honestly don't know. No one in my family or friends has that problem. Call them and ask. They have been very cordial to me on the phone. Good luck!

Is there outside seating for to Covid?

No outdoor seating. Only inside by reservation with limited seating. We went and felt comfortable.

Seriously one of the best oysters we have had. Beer $2 and wine $4. Cant beat it. Service was amazing due to Travis and Jen. We were early for happy hour and Travis said no problem. The materials make it look like a public facing pub serving new-american food and beer. I was surprised I had never heard of this place as long as I've lived in the area, and now I know why! If you really want to know what it was like.... Walked in, waited 5 minutes with one to two dozen geriatric sun stroked golfers gawking at my wife (one of three females in the building including the bar tender and one waitress?). Eventually someone in a spiffy polo shirt asked if we are here for "a quick lunch". It was past 5. Anyway, I say "Yea, dinner and some beer.". Now at this point, he does not offer to seat us. Instead he just stands there and looks at us. It was super awkward. Taking the initiative, I ask if we should seat ourselves. He says sure sit anywhere you like. Many of the tables were dirty, and they claim they open at 4pm (so its been just an hour yet..). We managed to sit at a clean table in the middle of the room. Then we waited again. Watched a few more walking viagra commercials try to eye fuck my wife and another girl who had the misfortune of being there. I wink at the wife to signal that we might bag it. Waited some more. Kid started getting cranky. No activity. I see the guy that we originally talked to was still hiding in the corner, clearly he wasn't trying to serve us. No utensils/menu/greeting, no activity etc. There was only one waitress and she was clearly busy trying to pretend that she liked golfers. So we bagged it and left. Other then giving this place a shot I have no regrets about walking out. Not planning to try it again. Would not recommend unless you are the type that needs to drink beer when you tell your family you are golfing.

We ordered a pierogi appetizer to share and some holiday cocktails to start. For entrees we had pork chops that were cooked to perfection and served over a sweet potato purée with a blackberry gastric. We also had the 7 fishes over linguine offered in red, white, hot or hot. I chose red hot. It was delicious with calamari, shrimp, lobster, mussels, clams, and fish. The penne vodka with sausage and peas was also delicious and a generous portion. The salmon dish was also excellent but had barely any risotto and 6 string beans. Overall, Blooming Grove is a favorite of our extended family and we visit fairly often. The only room for improvement is the portion size of some of the dishes in comparison to others.
