Food sitting under heat lamp waiting

Service: Best thing was the hostess who was friendly and seated us immediately. Waitress forgot our waters, till after she brought our food. Wasn't attentive at all and was a bit unaware shall we say. Food sat under a heat lamp waiting to be brought to us, hamburger ordered medium was brought well, lettuce on wrap was wilted. But, the worst of it all the fries had a fish taste. They must have been fried in same grease as fish, good thing I don't have an allergy!!

I enjoyed a meal here with my son and daughter in law other night. This was my first time at this Charcoal Grill. We ordered some appetizers which both were good. My daughter in law had fajitas and my son had a burger. I forgot which one he had. I ordered the charcoal burger with sweet potato fries. It was good. We all enjoyed our food. Drinks were good. Waitress was attentive. The atmosphere was good. I did find the prices alittle high for what you receive though.

Have heard good things about this location and can say it didn't live up to expectations. Relatively comfortable atmosphere and plenty of tv's if your there to watch the game while sitting at the bar. My kids ordered burgers. They were a good size solid burger. I tried a bite and thought the flavor was rather bland. My daughter ordered waffle fries with hers but received onion strings. The waitress did offer to bring the fries, my daughter declined. I had the Thursday barbecue buffet. Again I found the flavor in the meats to be mass produced blandness. Service was rather slow for us and even more so for a table sitting near us where we saw one of them actually get up to complain. We could hear the host apologize saying they were busy. (It wasn't that busy). I have also heard good things about the Sunday brunch. For my dining dollars, I'm a little leary about giving it a second chance.

    Brunch buffet is sooo good.

If you want a really good sunday brunch go to charcoal grill. Service is excellent. Food is excellent. They have an omelet station by the bar to get your omelet. Pizza is also by the bar. Go in the next room for eggs bacon sausage potatoes waffles French toast and my favorite breaded cod. I am allergic to malt so no beer batter fish for me. I love Boston Cream Pie and they had the best Boston Cream Pie I Ever had on the pastry table which was big. It was reasonably priced at $15.

The food is ... Okay. It's not amazing. For $25 I could of gotten better at other places. The waffle fries were bland, but crunchy. I would expect some kind of seasoning salt, but they were just lightly salted. Which I suppose is okay. I got the French dip (no onion or mushrooms). The bread was very boring. The au jus was actually very tasty, though. The roast beef was pretty bland, too. The dip made up for that. My wife got the Brooklyn, medium. They over cooked it to well done. Which is pretty much what everyone does at places like this, so it's not unexpected. She though the taste of it was "okay", explaining that the burger was drenched in dressing. Suggestion maybe it would be better put on the side. Anyways, the establishment was very clean, and the staff was friendly. I probably won't be returning on my own volition, but if someone wanted to do lunch here, I'd probably be okay with that. 2.5 stars for the food 2 stars on price 4 stars for cleanliness 4 stars for the staff Overall, 3 stars.

The crew behind the bar were excellent!

Both my older son and I thought this sounded amazing so we stopped in on a Friday night to try it. We both got fries for our side. The burger was great as expected. Breading and deep frying the lasagna helped prevent it from being a mess and they added enough marinara to give it flavor without overpowering anything. The fries were lightly salted, but were otherwise just boring, plain potato. Apparently 6pm on a Friday is a horrible time to visit Brazen Head Pub if you want to be seated in a reasonable timeframe. My son and I stood there for at least 20 minutes watching a table that was done eating and the gentleman and his credit card in hand, ready to pay if someone would ever stop and give him his bill. While this was going on, another couple at the bar finished their food and sat there for at least 10 minutes waiting for their check. It's almost as if the employees had no desire to turnover tables even with a line at the door including and behind us. There were three people bartending/waiting tables so they had plenty of coverage given the smaller size of the place. At one point, closer to the end of our meal, one of the bartenders looked at my son and I and asked "are you guys good?" as he was literally walking away from us and I was holding up an empty soda glass to show him I'd like a refill. Oddly, he gave me a thumbs up and kept going. I don't even know what to make of that other than poor service. The music that was playing was excessively loud. If it was a live band, I'd get it, that's part of the show and I wouldn't complain. For random music on speakers to drown out all conversations unless you're yelling, that's dumb.

The restaurant was clean upon arrival, and seemed to be a normal night for this restaurant even had the piano playing in the background. That's all when things started to snowball, upon being greeted at the hostess desk we were invited to help ourselves to a seat at the bar as they would be with us in a few moments. We had a reservation so this was odd but ok. They came back and just pointed us to a table from the bar. Waited a good while to finally get our drink order taken. Mine came quickly the misses had to wait for a good while for hers which was disappointing as we were already previously seated at the bar where we were pointed to help ourselves to a table. She said something about her water being off flavored and shortly after noticed a chunk of something stuck to the inside of her water cup. We decided to order an appetizer of the bacon jam toast thing as it was obvious at this point the staff was struggling to keep up with all the tables and they needed a moment to regroup before placing a whole meal order. The appetizer was great delicious and left us wanting more. We then ordered our steaks mashed potatoes and tried the lobster mac. All of that tasted great also. We were questioning each other where the lobster was in the mac and overheard the waitstaff talking to what sounded like a regular that they ran out of lobster. (They told them to enjoy a round of drinks on them someone was already running to get more). We finished with desert as it was our anniversary the peanut butter cheesecake. Upon arriving at the table it looked as though it had fingerprints on the side like someone used their fingers to place it on the plate. We ate it and again was very good rich and had a great flavor. You probably would ask yourself if we told them any of these things, they apologized for wait to be seated, apologized for the service several times stating "there's a few large groups in back" on their own. Replaced the water cup and said sorry about that. They knew they were out of lobster and tried to pull one more dish before getting more. Lastly we were done when desert came and just wanted to leave. Definitely not going back here anytime soon!

The mimosas were OK, I've had better but they were drinkable. The Pretzel was great! Their cheese dip and rootbeer mustard were both delicious and the pretzel was extra soft & hot - would recommend! Most of the table went with a soup/salad lunch combo which is a very nice, cost-effective offering. I opted for the buffalo chicken wrap w/a side salad. The side salad dressing was a house made cherry balsamic that was very tasty. The wrap was also OK, i've had better buffalo chicken wraps. I think it would be better if they'd make it crispy vs. grilled. It was still raining so I found us an Uber ride and away we went. I thought this place was pretty cool because of several things. Once we walked in we were greeted with a friendly smile; seating was down the stairs to a large open room with a long bar and a multitude of tables and seats; the decor was a lot of wood and it made me feel immediately comfortable. A great start! Our server was Jadye. She was very polite, friendly and helpful. She explained the specials, and the different drinks. When I inquired about an amber ale she let me try their "Main Street Amber Ale". It was a winner and so that was my chosen drink of the night. For my meal I ordered their wings - 6 Mango Habanero and 6 Thai Chili. We also split some beer battered cheese curds. Everything was delicious - with a special shout out to Wisconsin cheese curds! I had never had cheese curds before and these were spectacular!! Jayde checked on us throughout our meal and when she learned that we had ridden from Florida to Milwaukee for HD's 120th Homecoming she offered some great suggestions we might like to check out. There seems to be a significant amount of wasted open space in the area away from the bar. If this area is used for local bands then I say spot on, if not then the space is under utilized. We visited about 6 p.m. on a Friday night. There were about 20 people sitting around the bar and few tables. We were able to sit at a table without a wait at all. The server/bartender were pleasant and I could see they were engaging with the customers they were familiar with. In a bar I think it's how the staff interacts with the customer that determines if the customer becomes a regular. Those working had the right attitude and I would return because of that. Our dinners on our visit were the cod/fries & pecan crusted pan fried walleye/fried garlic mashed potatoes. The style of how the walleye was prepared was beyond what I expected from a bar environment. The food was typical of what to expect in a Wisconsin bar, fried & somewhat greasy. The coleslaw with dinner had good flavor but was to small of a portion. Prices were reasonable minus the $2.50 surcharge to use their ATM. There are many options out there I won't rush to return but also wouldn't be opposed if someone suggested going to "Our Place".
