He called earlier in the day to introduce himself, and although he hit traffic, he was communicative throughout and kept me posted with regular updates. The duo, spider-Man and Black Panther, were great with the kids and kept them engaged through superhero training, storytelling, tattoos, stretching exercises, and Spider Man kicks. Their energy, communication, and interaction with the children made for a very positive experience. read more

The San Jose team is not reliable and showed bad faith. They lied about availability, knowing one of the characters was unavailable, only for us to book. They cancelled one character last minute and refunded only on the deposit, instead of the total cost. So we paid for nothing. It's unlawful and we are going to pursue action as this seems to be a pattern and how they close their months. Other testimonials. Overall, very shady and would not recommend the San Jose location for this reason. read more

Deceptive practices and poor customer service. Requested balloon animals which was confirmed then told he could not do them day of. Also overcharged and I caught the mistake right before paying. We had such a great experience with Characters.io and highly recommend them. The booking experience was incredibly easy, communication was great, and the Elsa character that attended the party was fantastic! She jumped straight in to entertain the kids, read them a book, sang with them, and then did a great job of face painting. Amazing how quickly she painted such great art on their faces and hands. The kids loved her! 100% recommend this company for character appearances! She certainly beat our expectations. read more

We booked Bluey for our daughter's first birthday party. Sahib was absolutely phenomenal! He touched base with me prior to the event and was not only on time but early! The kids adored him, he realized my daughter was a little overwhelmed meeting her hero and played with some other guests while she warmed up to him. He even got down on the floor to play race cars with a 3 year old guest and joined in our baby crawling race! I would recommend him and the company for any party, they were very affordable and super easy to book. read more

We had Emily over as Cinderella and she was very easy to work with. She called us in advance to check if there were any instructions. She was on time and stayed back until all the kids got their hand painted. She played games and did some singing with the kids who had an absolute blast. The characters.io couldn't find the princess I was looking for originally but they tried their best and were able to help us and found the perfect Cinderella we were looking for. It's always good to book for 90 or 120 mins. Would highly recommend read more

We had our daughter's birthday party a year later using this company again. Avery was wonderful. She reached out to me ahead of time to see if there was anything she needed to know which I don't believe happened the first time around d. She interacted with the kids the whole time and they loved her. She did some face painting, dancing, singing, stayed for the cake celebration. Posed for pictures. People actually asked me for the information to use the company for their parties as they could see how much fun their children were having. Ultimately Diana restored my faith in the company, customer service, and about being an all around good human being and doing what's right. Thank you for a lovely experience. read more

This review is for the Spider-Man character! He arrived on time and fully engaged with the kids for 1 hour giving each of them attention while keeping a special eye on the birthday boy (even when he wandered from the group). Spidey was incredibly flexible and went with the flow, making the experience seamless and fun. My only regret is not getting solo shots of each child with him! Thank you for making my kiddo's birthday so special; the boys have been talking about it all week! read more

Everyone's experience is different, and I am sure other people had excellent experiences with their characters. This is a review of Spiderman (Peter Version). Timeliness - One Star Spiderman arrived late, as parents know timing is everything. Extra anxiety on the party day, regardless if it is 5 or 10 minutes, is not welcome. Arriving late and then needing to change could be more professional. Character - One Star The character was wearing the same Amazon outfit as the kids. I am not saying that Spiderman needed an expensive suit, but the illusion was definitely lost when all the kids had the same outfits. Our four year didn't buy into it at all. Also, his outfit was not very clean. I guess for the amount of money you pay, some professionalism was needed. These kids notice everything! Sell the illusion or blow it, say your are the character's best friend, and here are the things they taught you. Performance - Zero Stars DUDE! This is the whole point, not dressing up. After seeing a party the week prior, with Ghost Spider (maybe from the same company), my expectations could have been skewed. However, coming to the party with a busted outfit, no planned games (duck, duck, goose...really?), and no other entertainment was frustrating. I am not sure what package we ordered, but if the lowest package includes Spiderman showing up late, taking a cigarette break (no he was not smoking, but he might as well have been), then running in circles for 15 minutes, please put that in the description to inform us all we should upgrade. Overall - One Star As many people from the party joked around, we would have been better off hiring one of the older kids to dress up. I'm not sure who is to blame, the company for not training or the kid for not caring. There appear to be many outstanding experiences described by other families with Characters.io, but our Spiderman was beyond disappointing and left us all unfulfilled and wanting more. read more

We booked Elsa for my daughter's 4th birthday over a month in advance. We received a confirmation email two days prior to the event confirming the location and that Elsa will be there. The day of the event Elsa never showed. I had 16 kids wearing princess dresses waiting on the front porch hoping to see Elsa and she never showed up. It was so upsetting having to explain that Elsa was not going to be showing up to my daughters birthday and this was the main event for the party. I was so heart broken. I would never book with this company! Save your child from heartbreak as they cannot deliver. read more

We had Spiderman come to my son's 3rd birthday on Cinco de Mayo and he was a HUGE hit! I was pretty blown away by how great Spiderman was with the kids. He had them play Duck Duck Goose, Hide and Seek, Ring around the Rosie, in addition to just running around and playing whatever activity they wanted to. He gave piggy back rides, did push-up contests, and played with their mini-basketball hoop. They had the absolute best time ever. He needed zero guidance from me. The parents were so impressed by how engaged he kept all the kids and how much fun they were all having. I had several ask where we found him. 10/10 experience. Booking was super easy and the communication leading up to the event and even day-of was excellent. Thanks so much for making it such a great experience! read more

DO NOT USE THESE GUYS!! I wish I had read more of the reviews!! I hired a "spiderman" to come perform at my son's birthday party. Before the party I had emailed the company to ask what the performer would do and if he needed anything. I was told he would play games and entertain the kids and needed a large space to do that. So I sectioned off a whole part of my backyard for him. When the performer came I told him where he could be to entertain the kids and if he needed me to round them up for him. He said "no I'm just going to mingle with everyone where they are at". I thought he was going to start that way to break the ice and then round up the kids and entertain them. He did not. The kids got super bored and moved from the back yard to the front yard where we had a jump house and basketball arcade games set up. My husband kept asking me what to tell the performer to do? I shouldn't have to tell him to do anything!! I was paying him to entertain the kids at the party. Finally he played some basketball with the kids on my husband's behest. I still paid him, (my mistake) and decided I would take it up with the company. When I emailed the company they said they felt bad and would refund me $50 in good faith. I paid $240 for the guy! He did nothing but just show up in costume. I replied stating i deserved at least $100 for the poor performance and increased stress of having to manage the entertainer who I had hired to reduce my stress of entertainment at the party! The company stopped responding. Such poor service and horrible customer service. I have had several parties in the past and the performers from other companies I hired for those events have been so good that my friends have hired them for their own parties. Everyone at this party complained about this guy's lack of entertainment! DO NOT USE THEM!! read more

I would NEVER recommend this company even to my enemy. They changed the entertainer the last minute. She arrived at 2pm and left at 3pm. We booked her for 90mins. She arrived with nothing but her cell phone. After she arrived and said hi to the kids, she immediately asked me what to do next! Ummm I was told that these entertainers would entertain the kids. I asked her to do face painting to which she replied oh that's extra and you didn't pay for that... what! So I responded with ok so what can you do then? She replied oh anything you want... how about balloons to which she replied oh I don't do that. Again I asked ok what do you do? She said do you have speakers? I can sing to which I responded no I thought you as the entertainer would provide that. As the kids are just staring at us. She ended up singing and sitting the kids down in a circle for a chat. She comes up to me and says they don't seem interested what else do you want me to do? At this point I'm so frustrated. Didn't even mind that she left 30 mins early cause the kids had ran off to play in the park. We were super disappointed with the entertainer but I still paid her and gave her tip to which everyone at the party was shocked I even paid her the remaining amount. I contacted the agency and they provided me with a $77 refund. What kind of refund is that? read more

Absolutely disappointed in your company. You knew a cancellation was pending and did NOT contact me until an HOUR before my son's 5th birthday party. I scheduled with you months ago. I paid on time. You did not have a back-up actor for Spiderman for no discernible reason. You knew how important he was to our party! Like literally the purpose of the party!! It is hard to know if you are taking a risk even after reading few reviews for businesses like these. I actually did not read all the reviews but it turns out the one from a lady in Dec 2023 about the poor appearance and possibly hungover Elsa turned out to be true in our case. We had our daughter's birthday party yesterday at a public park. 1 hour before the event I got a call from the company saying that Anna (the second princess) got Covid and she wouldn't be able to perform. Perfectly fine, valid reason. At 4:45 (15 minutes late), Elsa turned up and by just looking at her, I instinctively knew it wasn't going to go well. Kids were obviously excited seeing her because, well, they are kids. Elsa was fidgeting with her costume and wig and was clearly not in a state to perform for the kids. She did not bring anything with her which made it clear that this was a rip-off. No face painting, no speakers, no games, no story time, nothing. After I told her that were not informed to bring any speakers, she took a 10 minute break to get to the car and bring a bluetooth speaker. All Elsa did was do 2 sing alongs and posed for few pictures with the kids. Her 1 hour time included the 10 minute walk to the car, kids eating cake and pizza (which she kind of influenced by asking 'who is hungry now?'!). She had zero enthusiasm and energy. I have seen a similar character come to one of our friend's birthday party and they were fantastic, engaging the kids every minute. This was a total let down. Elsa's total performance time was may be 10 minutes and not 60 minutes which we paid for. I need every penny back and I will make sure this business takes responsibility for their actions and fix these issues soon. I am not someone who writes Yelp reviews but yesterday's experience made me super angry. I am waiting for tomorrow so that I can speak to customer service and complain about this. read more

Clearly I did not see all the reviews. And obviously they don't care as long as they get their money. Making the story short.. hired 4 Star Wars performers for my husband's 50th.. He is a Star Wars geek and I wanted to make that night a real blast from the past. Hired them for an hour- one came in on time, 2 came in late and the other is a no show. They promised a grand entrance- that didn't happen. They promised a Jedi training (so I asked my guests to bring their sabers)- did not happen. They only walked around. Oh and they did performed... for 39 seconds out of that 1 hour.. And the managements' response... "since they showed up" that they will not refund my money. I have filed a fraud report for these people. And btw- the darth Vader had a purple saber. Hmn... not even lit up. Refund amount after paying $700*... $136- for the performer that did not make it. So much for money back guarantee. I have filed for a police report for services not rendered- and they will get an F rating from me for FRAUD. While I understand that each experiences are different... let the reviews speak for itself. read more

The actor for our 5 year olds birthday party was so underwhelming. The actor was so shy and soft spoken he can not capture any of the kids attention. We hired Moana for our wedding shower for 90 minutes. Yes, a wedding shower! We had all our family and friends over for a luau themed wedding shower. Moana added the perfect touch to our luau. They were really for the children's entertainment :) Moana called me about 10 minutes prior to arriving, arrived on time and in character. She seemed very comfortable and open to the fact that it was not strictly a children's party as some of the adults were so surprised. She was immediately greeted by the children and they were thrilled to see her! They gathered near her, including some of the adult guests. Her itinerary began with reading a story, face painting, hula dancing lesson, and singing. She also did a photo opp and again some of my adults guests even requested for a photo with her. What I appreciated the most was we were set for 90 minutes. She finished at about 60 minutes, and for the remaining 30 minutes just played with the kids. I stepped away to be with friends and family and checked in on them every now and then. After plenty research I decided to go with Party Princess Productions. I was assured that that the performers were professional and had experience dealing with kids from 3-6 years old. They even sent me a short clip of the performer to make sure we were on the same page. To make a long story short, they were correct. Amanda as Moana was not only early but she worked with me as I requested a grand entrance. She brought her own blue tooth speaker which really assisted in getting the attention of the kids. She was flexible with what we asked and because she had experience, she made excellent recommendations on what to do next in order to keep the kids entertained. Entertained they were, I had several parents compliment me on our special guest and her way above average singing performance. I hired her for 1.5 hours and she made a grand entrance, got to know the kids and took pictures, read the Moana story, PERFORMED the Moana theme song (excellent singer), played several games, did face painting and was there to cut the cake with my daughter. I could not ask for anything more. Priceless....thank you Amanda as Moana. read more
