We also wanted to re-upholster our dining room chairs-- and the people at the store were so helpful and supportive as we chose the fabric. We love what we ended up with. Evan the upholsterer and his team are amazing. The antique chairs look great with their new covers and thicker seats. The delivery guys were cheerful and enthusiastic about the work that had been done. Like someone else said, I'm buying all my furniture from Country Farm from now on.

As soon as I walked in, I let him know that I was looking for an inexpensive dresser. I asked if there was a bargain basement or a clearance section and he said no. He told me I wouldn't find a dresser for under $500. (To us, he totally dismissed us, as if we didn't belong there.) When my husband asked if we could walk around he said "This is America you can do whatever you want." After looking we in fact did find several dressers under $500. He wandered down to us and said something about particle board and how unfortunately the store had to sell it. He also spoke badly about the Ashley line they offer. It's too bad I didn't tell him about the dining room set we WERE going to purchase along with the dresser! We are past customers of the store when we need something. My husband and I shopped at many stores for two power recliners, wanting to stick with a name brand since the two we had bought only several years ago from Bob's Discount Furniture had become defective and were not covered by the warrantee we purchased. That story is a whole other review. We visited the Lewiston store and met our wonderful sales person, Dawn, who helped us choose the right chair as well as match the fabric choice to our living room oriental. And they are perfect!!!! The chairs were manufactured by LazyBoy and took at least 6 weeks to construct and ship. They arrived ontime and the scheduler at FX Marcotte honored our request to have them delivered ASAP. Today, Ryan and Wes delivered our chairs on time as promised ,(did I mention NO DELIVERY CHARGE) provided set up and tested everything to make sure it was working properly. As hot as it was, they were smiling and friendly, capping off the best furniture purchase of the Shaw family. We will be back for sure and have no problem recommending FX Marcotte to our friends.

That is when I started to understand and appreciate what they do for their community. After hearing that they take part of their profits to help build houses for people that would otherwise unable to have a house I knew that this was a place to support. My first time in was to mostly scope out the joint. They have a furniture room, an electrical and lighting room, and the main room that consists of lumber, tools, cupboards, bathroom items, and more. While wandering I overheard a manager discussing with one of the volunteers that they usually look up the item and price it half of what local retail places would price it at. Yowzers! I like that! These prices gave me motivation for projects. My new place needed shelves in so many places that I knew If I went anywhere else I would pay a fortune. When I returned to the store the following day I did so with a list of dimensions for the different shelving projects I needed. Their lumber section is random lengths and types of woods so you need to use one of their tape measures to explore and find what is the right length. I somehow found all I needed! When I went to find shelf brackets a volunteer saw me pawing through the bin and walked over. She told me someone just donated a ton and they just hadn't been put out yet. She hurried behind the counter and came back with an arm load. "How many do you want?" Score! I have returned more than once since then to buy nails, screws, and scope out their tables which is next on my list. Right now they have tons and again everything is priced so reasonable that all seem a possibility for me.
