Oh, the joys of moving and learning the ins and outs of a new home - the things that don't always present themselves during a walk-through...one such item was what to do with a closet full of Cat-5 wiring that the cable company seemed resistant to work with and make work, and my inability to get a variety of automated features function for me. I realized I needed someone with IT understanding to install a wifi extender and began researching on YELP. I read reviews like this one and came upon ChapTech IT. I submitted a request for service and received a call from Andrew within a few hours. I described the current problem and we set up a time for him to come out and install a wifi mesh kit that would enable me to greatly increase my coverage around the house and outside. While here I talked with Andrew about the infamous IT closet that allegedly would allow me to control everything in the house. Andrew took a quick look and presented me with a very reasonable proposal that would make this space functional, and would eliminate the wiring octopus that was protruding from my living room wall. Honestly, how do cable companies think its okay to run wire all over the house and just allow it to look like a jumbled mess? I digress. I will say that this was not an easy job by any means. The wifi continued to crash throughout the install (an issue with the modem installed by the cable company) and I know it had to have been frustrating for Andrew and Scott. Nonetheless they confidently and without a complaint worked to get things set up and I worked with the cable company to troubleshoot the problems. I should add that Andrew reached out afterwards to make sure everything was functioning as perfectly as possible - and wasn't satisfied until I was satisfied. As I sit here now, I couldn't be happier in my new home. The wifi works seamlessly throughout the house and allows me to wirelessly control everything from my pool, to solar and NEST. I can watch tv without looking at a jumbled mess. The a/v closet is organized and functional. ChapTech came out dismounted two 65" TVs and then remounted them in the new place. They worked around people moving furniture and boxes with good cheer. Andrew didn't mind a spur-of-the-moment added request to fix a printer. They let us know they were going to be late before the scheduled time - which ended up to be less than 10 minutes.
