Very close to our travel route, plenty of parking and mostly positive reviews made it an easy choice. Our experience was good enough that we would definitely return and send others to check it out too! It has that local charm that has a homey feeling and I suspect it has a bunch of regulars who show up daily or weekly! They even have a logo on the wall that says when you are here you are family. You can sit wherever there is an open spot and they have a good amount of tables and some counter seats. No seats/tables too close that will make you feel claustrophobic which was great. Their breakfast menu has all of what you'd expect and they have great prices! Along with the usual menu they also had a specials board and everything on it during our visit sounded amazing! I ended up going with the special of Two Slices of Pumpkin French Toast, 3 Eggs, and bacon. The pumpkin French toast had to have been homemade bread which tasted phenomenal and sweet enough you didn't need syrup. Eggs were cooked to perfection the way I wanted and bacon was crispy. My wife got the Irish Benedict and enjoyed it. Big enough portion she couldn't quite finish it. Hollandaise sauce smothering the plate that packed so much flavor. Not the best corned beef she has had but it was still good and she enjoyed the meal very much. We look forward to coming back for more breakfast and even more so lunch so I can try the Shepherd's pie and they had a tasty sounding chicken open-faced sandwich. Worth a visit to check out Tory Hill Cafe!

First time trying Hot Suppa in Portland and it definitely lived up to the hype. I ordered the whole…read morepork egg sandwich (without the egg) and it was absolutely delicious--perfectly cooked pork with great flavor in every bite. I also tried a bite of the biscuits and gravy at the table and they were rich, comforting, and seriously tasty. The drinks were just as impressive. The espresso martini was perfectly balanced, and even the mocktail was refreshing and well made. And our waitress was the sweetest (and honestly the prettiest!). She was so warm and friendly that I'd come back just to chat with her again. Great service, great food, great experience overall. Definitely worth a stop if you're in Portland.

When we finally came during the off season, we thought this would be the perfect opportunity since wait times were shorter. The wait on a Saturday afternoon was about 15-20 minutes. I will say - I had high hopes for Hot Suppa. Between my fiance and I, we ordered the waffle, side of corned beef hash, and the fried green tomatoes eggs benny. The corned beef hash here is excellent - that I do have to acknowledge. I was a bit underwhelmed by the fried green tomatoes though. The tomatoes were just okay, but the excessive hollandaise sauce really just made the whole dish waaay too heavy. It was also just messy. Service was slow & our waitress tended to disappear for long periods of time. Coffee & water refills both took a long time. Parking here is difficult but not impossible. Most spots are only for an hour or so.

Beer is excellent but most surprisingly was how fantastic the cocktail program was! We loved chatting with them both about their travels, love of drinks and their knowledge of both the industry and the drinks they serve. We are so glad we stopped, it made for such an awesome night and great part of our trip. We will be bringing our friends back to visit very soon!

Visited on 7/19/26 with my wife and dog. Drove up from Rhode Island after seeing the menu,…read moreavailable beers, and learning they were dog friendly. We arrived and sat at a picnic table with an umbrella so our pup could be in the shade. We were having a great time, so excited to be there and amped to try their current taps. Just as our apps were being brought out, a gust of wind lifted the umbrella clear out of the table, spilling my wife's drink and sending the heavy metal umbrella pole directly into my face and chest HARD. My wife, the server, and I were all stunned for a moment. Wife thought I was bleeding until we realized it was rust on my face and chest from the pole. Server asked if I was okay, clearly feeling a little awkward, and with my hand to my face I said "I think so? If I'm not bleeding, I guess?, still totally stunned and feeling some pain. Face throbbing, my wife asked for an ice pack, and the server brought us one. We totally understand that it was a freak accident, and that it wasn't our server's fault. But it got awkward from there as the crew working became avoidant. The girl that sat us saw me teary eyed from the pain, holding the ice pack to my face and asked if we were okay... but that was it. The atmosphere quickly became awkward, and considering the pain I was in combined with feeling totally weird from the staff, we asked for a box to take our uneaten food to go. Server brought our check and we were a little surprised to see that we were still charged for the drinks (one of which had spilled because of the umbrella) and the food. We paid cash, still left a nice tip, and left, wanting to get out of the sun and keep an eye on the swelling. We were really disappointed in how the situation was handled by the crew. We weren't looking for our apps to be comped, but it would have been nice for a manager to come by, apologize, offer to refill my wife's beer, and maybe move us to a different table since we were no longer in the shade. The team didn't go around and check the other tables to make sure the umbrellas were safe and secure, either, which was shocking considering what had just happened. We were really looking forward to hanging out, trying a little bit of everything off the menu, buying some cans or growlers to take home... but we left with a swollen, bruised face and chest and an uneaten $90 box of food that we ended up tossing because the mood was completely ruined. We rarely leave a negative review anywhere, but I guess this is just a PSA to check your picnic table umbrella if you sit outside, and hopefully a learning opportunity for management in how to improve customer service and safety for patrons.

I keep trying haddock sandwiches EVERYWHERE - many of which are great - but not the perfect Tav version. Just the right size, crispy, flavorful and fresh. The fries - as a traditionalist I don't do sweet potato fries - but the regular ones are thin, hot, salty and oh so good. Wayne went for the NEW chopped Italian sandwich and it is already a favorite. As I'm writing this he says "I want one!". We usually sit at the bar - because if it is just us two we like to talk to each other and the bartenders - it is so comfortable.

Blackened shrimp were basically too spiced to eat without being scraped off, but that may well be just my opinion. The floor is wood but completely uncared for, literally black with use. Not dirty, mind you, just scraped bare and stained, no finish left. The overall impression was just skimpyness and a budget feel. But it has its loyal fans: a couple from MA said that they had driven up for it just to visit. Good for them. I'd rather go to Bernie's, which is immaculate but no bar, or pay the money and go to Sicilian.
