Used to be a very pleasant store they're highly expensive now . You would think with a businesses closing down they would be a little more understanding and caring no. I grew up going to Chapman's when I was a kid. I live on the west coast but was visiting for the holidays and walked in a saw a selection of bongs and pot pipes. It seems some people will do anything to make a buck. So much for the family environment and values that always made Granville a great place. Must try the Al Capone. This sub is nothing short of heavenly. The staff really knows how to make a good consistent sandwich. As a general store there is a wide variety of things to buy or just browse. The whole ambiance will just take you back in time. Only reason for not giving 5 stars is the booths are small when eating in, but this place is well worth going out of your way for. read more

What a phenomenal place!! This nondescript general store serves up some of the areas best sandwiches and prepared food! We had the "flatlander" and the "kermit". Outstanding sandwiches. The sub roles didn't over power the fillings on each. The sliced meats and cheeses were top quality. We will make Chapman's a regular stop. read more

Sadly another country store bought out and ruined by greedy individuals destroying the tranquility of a beloved community business. Paid $15 for a medium sub with extra meet, it had 3 slices on it. I called to find out why and was called a lier. I'm never prejudice but I find that most foreigners are and this is apparent as the new management is obviously showing this to be true. read more

Chapman's hands down has the best subs around. The Kermit with added Swiss and onion is so good. We haven't had as much luck with some of the nightly dinner specials, but that might just be personal preference. Their tuna mac is my 2.5 year olds favorite in the area, and they've given him a little cup of maple cremee to bring home for dessert with the admonishment that he needs to eat his dinner first more than once! In short, if you're in the area they're totally worth the stop. read more

Best country store in the world!!!! It's sort of like a mini-mart, they have gas pumps on the outside and a little bit of everything on the inside. Prices are pretty low, spending over ten bucks here (not counting gas which has obvious expenses) is pretty hard to do. Best subs and soft ice cream in Granville by far. Everything here is good. I've never been disappointed. The employees are really nice and efficient and a lot of them are hot young chicks so that's a plus for me. The best part is the decor. You feel like you're walking into a set from a Western movie when you walk in here. It's good to know that there are still stores like this left in the country. They even still have penny candy!!!!! I thought that stuff went out in the 1920s. And like I said, hard to spend over ten bucks here on anything except for gas. read more

Neat little store that has everything you need. They make great sandwiches. Buy tobacco and beer there for a fair price. My only complaint is that it's not really handicapped accessible. Other than that, I'm a happy camper. read more

This place has gone completely down hill. And thats putting it lightly. There is absolutely nothing of the "old store" feel anymore. Its filled now with gaudy fluorescent lit up pipe smoking shelfs. Tons of security cameras and Absolutely no customer service. We used to go in for those famous full subs, and those are worse then subway now. While checking out today with my two overpriced crappy subs, not once did the owner get off his phone and pay one minute of attention to me. ( which by the way, when I got home the subs were missing half the ingredients that I even asked for to begin with) All the time speaking a foreign language a mile a minute. Completely rude and just not where i will ever ever go again. That placed lasted decades because of its small town, corner store feel. The owner should have known that. It just feels like a underwhelming 7 eleven in NJ now. Sad and absolutely infuriating. But like i said never again, and i would say id spread the word, but believe me its already out there of what a train wreck this place has become. I feel very very sad for the people that had fond memories here, hopefully they can keep those in the back their head while they just shake it now while they drive by this place. read more
