Reasonable price, great owner, and nice location…read more Came in for an oil change and to track down the cause of a recurring stall issue with my Volkswagen Tiguan. The mechanic listened, asked good follow-up questions, made sure he understood the problem before drawing any conclusions, and then diagnosed it cleanly. The part arrived within the window he quoted (2-3 hours), was installed without fuss, and the final bill was reasonable. What stood out as much as the technical work: he flagged a slow coolant leak and a minor oil leak -- this is an older car, so neither was a shock -- but there was no pressure to pile on services. He showed me rough estimates so I'd have them when I'm ready and left the decisions to me. That kind of straightforward, no-upsell approach is rarer than it should be. The waiting area is a genuine plus: free wifi, a table big enough to work at, and a small fridge with complimentary drinks, large TV. My one suggestion would be to add a coffee in the AM. Also, the door to the reception currently reads "B". Might want to avoid any confusion with better signage. That said, I am a big fan of this establishment and will be using them for repairs in the future (apparently sooner than I want :) Bonus: he pointed me to a wonderful Indian place across the street, Biryani, which I'd highly recommend if you have time to kill while your car is being worked on.

That couldn't be further from the truth. They called me around 2 AM saying the job was complete and asked me to send the remaining balance. Just minutes later, my driver reported that the truck was shaking extremely bad. When I called them back, they told my driver to meet them about 10 miles away--only to then say there was nothing they could do. Since then, I have been calling them all morning with no answer. On top of that, my toolbox was stolen off my truck while it was in their possession. This entire experience has been unprofessional, dishonest, and unacceptable. I paid $4,000 for work that was clearly not done correctly, and now I'm left dealing with additional damage and missing property. If they do not communicate with me ASAP, I will be filing a civil suit and taking this matter to court. Do yourself a favor and take your business elsewhere.

We got the estimate and it was ridiculous. I know how to work on cars for the most part, but since Im in Maryland I was kind of stuck either paying the ridiculous prices or going to fix it myself 6 hours away. Justin agreed to do the work for an extremely reasonable and fair price, and did it the same day. I ordered the part from the local auto store and he picked it up and put it in withing an hour or so. He sent me videos of what he was doing as well as constant updates along the way. There is NO REASON to find anyone else to work on this car for me anymore, as I know he knows what hes doing and is reliable and reasonably priced. Very Satisfied

Yesterday I went in for a diag, even though the shop was full they got my car in pretty quickly and let me know the exact issue, along with a clear video showing the cause of the noise and duplicating the exact sound I've been hearing. They ordered the part and finalized the repair today. My car is running so smooth it's crazy! Had a smile on my face the whole way back home. I will trust this shop with my future business.

However, when I returned in the evening to move forward with the repair, I was suddenly quoted $1,800 for the same work. Before coming to Carmedix, I had already received a quote from another shop for about $1,500, and that quote included rear brake drums, brake hardware, brake shoes, front brake pads, rotors, and axle work. Carmedix wanted $1,800 for only the front brake pads, front rotors, and CV axle replacement, without the additional rear brake work. The inconsistent pricing and lack of transparency were very frustrating. I felt misled, and I cannot recommend a shop that changes the price so dramatically within the same day. Please be careful and make sure you get a written estimate before agreeing to any repairs.
