Menu 2/2

We were warmly welcomed and seated upon entry. The gentleman that bought us tortilla chips and salsa was friendly and vibrant. Our server was nice too. Even though the service was inviting, we were not too impressed by the food. The steak did not have the flavor we were hoping it would have so the meal was pretty bland overall. The service was great but the food unfortunately did not satisfy what we were looking for.

I have loved Chapala for so many years. I came in here with my husband for dinner earlier, to celebrate my birthday. We were immediately greeted and seated. I ordered tortilla soup and a combo platter, and a Pepsi without ice. My husband ordered the deluxe sampler platter. Everything was exactly as ordered, hot, delicious, and perfect. I love their tortilla soup. I make great tortilla soup, and theirs is absolutely amazing. My husband's go-to is the deluxe sampler, he loves the bacon wrapped shrimp. Employees are always great. They smile, listen, and customer service is always on-point. Restaurant is clean, comfortable, and always nice. One of the things I love about Chapala is their consistency. I always find that comforting and appreciative. It is the exact same experience every single time we go in, and that is wonderful. Will I return? Absolutely! Over and over again. My husband and I have been coming here for years, and we will continue returning for years to come. Review 1 of 2025.

Overall, I love Chapalas. I think they have very friendly and attentive servers, and overall great food. The key is that you need to order something you will like. That could obviously be said anywhere, but I think this is the type of place that if you have a favorite Mexican dish, order that. Some places allow you to have more freedom and you can trust that whatever you try will be tasty. Chapalas is up to individual taste. There is also gluten free menu with plenty of options for accommodations. The biggest thing is that the onions and cilantro can be make or break your meal depending on your preference. If you don't like raw onions, I suggest explicitly saying "no onions" because this is a very onion-forward place! I always get the chicken enchiladas with salsa verde because it's low on onions and I know I love it! If it isn't bad, I'm not changing!

This place is normally MUY BIEN, a classic!! But... they have missed before. Let me just say, don't get the tortilla soup. Besides that excellent service, and it's a beautiful place! Especially outside.

Amazing Jalepeno Queso Dip & Salsa

We ordered the jalapeño queso to start and it was phenomenal. We enjoyed that and the chips & salsa while we waited for food. Getting waters kinda took a little bit, we also had a beer ordered to table and that was the quickest thing that arrived haha we were there on a Friday around 5pm. There were a few tables full and more people coming in while we dined. I ordered a quesadilla with upgrade to asada. It was loaded with lots of filling which was nice, but overall not my favorite. I had plenty for leftovers which is always appreciated. My husband got the carne asada plate with flour tortillas and was excited cause we thought they had homemade tortillas, but they we're definitely store bought. Was a bummer, but maybe we were mistaken with this assumption of homemade ones. Nonetheless we enjoyed our meal & the ambiance was nice. Our waitress & others in there were helpful and our food was quick to come out. I only remembered to take a pic of queso and salsa / chips. I was too excited & hungry for my meal we forgot!

Thoroughly enjoyed our visit to this lovely restaurant. Our party of 5 (including an infant) were seated immediately on their outdoor patio. It had been a hot day (97) but the cooler weather & shade provided made it very pleasant. On Wednesdays, during the summer, the mall offers outdoor entertainment on the grassy area so we had front row seats to the entertainment. My relleno costenos was EXCELLENT! The sauce was so tasty & their rice & beans were well prepared. Our other dishes of pork quesadillo & burrito relleno were very good. All our portions were huge - more than enough for lunch the next day. My only suggestion would be to wipe down the highchairs between customers - ours was pretty nasty. This was our first visit to this mall & we were very impressed.

Taco Salad

There's a lot of Mexican places to eat around here and this location by far served up the most impressive presentation I've seen between Mexican restaurants in Eugene and Springfield. I mean take a look at that taco salad, it almost looks like a waterfall! We ended up coming back to this location just to re-order the taco salad a couple weeks later. The tortilla was nice and crunchy. We were given chips and a mild salsa at our table. The salsa that they served with their chips wasn't really anything to write home about but, their hot sauce definitely hit the spot. My partner had fajitas and they use the same cut of meat, definitely flavorful, but I personally wasn't the biggest fan of the peppers they used. The strawberry margarita was exactly what I expected. Looking forward to trying different things here in the future, if I can resist the taco salad of course. I'd say this is our new go to Mexican spot between Eugene and Springfield.

Despite the poor plating this queso was delicious.

My husband and I came here for a Happy Hour date because their website clearly said they had Happy Hour every day 3-5 p.m. but we were told they do not do Happy Hour. That was quite a disappointment but we stayed anyway. We had chips & salsa, queso, and some margaritas. The margaritas were pretty good, though pricey. As other reviewers have said, the queso was great and the chips were fresh. We decided not to have any other food from the menu based on what other reviews have said. Over all our experience wasn't unpleasant but really nothing about it made me excited to go back. It's a fine enough place if you want to grab some chips and drinks if you don't care about Happy Hour prices.

Came here for the first time the other day with coworkers, food was pretty good. As a Hispanic I can judge Hispanic foods with a bit more critiquing I guess but overall the food was pretty good. Do I still prefer home cooked meals? Yes, but if this is on the table, the food didn't disappoint. The horchata was good, not too sweet at all. The taco wasn't amazing but I'm not a huge fan of hard shell tacos to begin with for hispanic food anyway. Rice and beans were fine, chicken was good, enchilada was good. Prices were good, only $10.50 for the lunch special, plate is huge. Definitely had leftovers but try to eat that in the next few hours, especially if you got anything hard shell. Service was great, staff was friendly. Definitely a family vibe in there, lots of spacious seating which is appreciated. Overall would come back again, even as a Hispanic who normally eats this kind of food. Lunch specials are a must!

It's a very good restaurant. Make sure to order the carne asada burrito (it comes wet style) and you will not regret it.

Generous portions, feels authentic. Barely any veggies. Meat is tender and flavored well. As much fresh chips and salsa as you want.

I looked online and found Mezcaluna and was excited to try a new spot with late night hours. I had a seat at the bar and was greeted by a friendly bartender named Veronica. I ordered a fresh-squeezed lime margarita that was absolutely delicious. I ordered the combo plate with chile relleno and a suiza enchilada. I was very pleased with my meal. Everything tasted fresh and flavorful. A big thank you to Veronica for the best service I've had in Eugene in a long time. She was very attentive as a server, and I appreciated chatting with her and being treated like a friend after a long, hard day. I will be back soon for sure! 10/10

Mezcaluna's is SO authentic, flavorful and wonderfully spicy. They don't strain out the cilantro after the blending ensuring it's packed with flavor. Our waitress was a Rockstar. I'm sad I don't remember her name. She was serving multiple tables AND mixing her own tables' drinks behind the bar. She rocked and was super friendly. The ambiance is very upscale, even their outdoor seating has been renovated and looks much nicer than it did before. They try to lean into the authentic feel, even having someone making homemade tortillas
