Their conchas are the bomb, seriously ... They're the best damn conchas I've ever tasted. They make them smaller than your usual concha but it's the perfect size. They are sooooo soft and stay soft for a couple of days. The champurrado is to die for and the tamales are great too. AHUEVO! read more

I decided to try this bakery since it had excellent reviews on yelp but to my surprise this was the worse cake I ever had in my life. It was dry , nasty and to top it of BURN!!! YES BURN!! Oh.. my.. GOD! This is the BEST Mexican bakery EVER! Like another reviewer here I have tried many, MANY bakeries. Trust me when I say this one is truly the BEST. I asked a younger guy what was the secret.. why is their bread so much better than all of the other Mexican bakeries I have gone to? He responded that they do not use ready-made ingredients like other bakeries do. They use their OWN recipe that was apparently passed down from his great grandfather. Believe me when I say that once you have tried this bakery you will never go back to any other. Their breads are fresh too. Every time I have come in there they have conchitas (smaller version of a sweet bread with a sugary shell on top). Conchitas are the mini version. It seem that they bake all day long because of all the business they get. The conchitas melt in your mouth and have a crispy but soft texture. Don't even know how to describe it. I have tried their other breads and they are definitely right up there with the best. The parking situation there is pretty bad, but that is not the fault of the bakery. Many times you see people parking in the red right in front or in the red on the side streets. WHY? Because none of us care if we get an outrageously priced parking ticket............ It's THAT good! I have since discovered their tamales just tonight. OMG. SO GOOD. The best tasting tamales I have ever had. The employees are very sweet. The prices are cheap. Guaranteed if you love Mexican bakeries, you will never go elsewhere once you try this one! I have loved this bakery for years however they lost me as a customer over $6. I bought $6 worth of conchas yesterday morning and they were hard (maybe bread from then day before?) I called and let them know and they lady said to bring them back. I took them back after work and the two ladies that were there were very rude. They kept saying they were not going to refund my money back which I never asked for a refund. Then they said they would only replace $3 worth of bread even after they saw the bread was hard. I told them I didn't care for them money I just wanted my conchas. It's really sad that an established business would run like this. All they had to do was apologize and replace the bread and they would have had a happy customer. read more

This store was a lifeline on that day. If you are in the area, please--stop in to thank them and buy a few products. Very friendly staff and their bread was delicious. I was looking for a Mexican bakery in the Pasadena area to order some mini conchas for a tea party. I read the reviews on Yelp and went to this place, and I'm glad I did. When I arrived their conchas were just getting out of the oven, so they were still warm and they're super fluffy and tasty. The only issue is parking, there's not a lot of parking around the area, but their bread is definitely worth it. They also have very reasonable prices. I ordered several dozen tamales for Christmas with my family. I was told by my coworkers to go try them first, so I went and tried them first. They are practicly meatless masa rolls, the cheese and chili was a joke too. Why are people so cheap on the meat. I can buy masa if I just want masa. For $22.00 a dozen, I expect meat inside. I would say there was 1 teaspoon of meat on half the tamale. I found that for $16.00 a dozen, I could get meaty tamales at Los 5 Puntos. I cancelled my order. I will not pay $22.00 a dozen for masa rolls! Hope you guys read this, you were a lot closer to me and more convientent. You lost my buisness for sure. read more

The locals and regular customers know exactly what they want, loading up their trays with bread, conchas, etc. For a newbie, who doesn't speak any Spanish, I had to find someone who could explain what things are. One of the women there helped explained what I was looking at (Empanadas). They had pineapple and mango for $1.25 each, which I thought was reasonable. Sorry to bring your hopes down everyone. I also use to think this was a great bakery, in fact i use to be there daily! Unfortunately the unsanitary aspects of this place disgusted me. I with my own eyes came to see roaches crawling here and there. I'm not a picky person but when it comes to my food I'd rather be safe than sorry health wise. I myself have been in the back were all the "magic" happens i can tell you many things that would change everyones mind as far as going there again. For example the dough they use to make our "Delicious Conchita's" it falls on the floor were bakers step, were roaches crawl yet it gets picked up and mixed again as if nothing ever happened. Employees there tend to have an attitude at times. Oh and let me tell you yes the bread does get done there, but the tamales at times are brought from a bakery in Los Angeles and FYI the cakes are definitely not made their nor the "gelatin's". It sad to find out the truth but what can we do. The cakes they have on display and the tamales are not done daily. Hopefully this place can better itself because a customer deserves the best.
