    STALE Birthday Cake
    Nina A.

We stopped here to get a small cake for my daughter's "family" birthday party before her big day... It seemed like a good deal at $22, especially when she customized it. But the cake must've been a month old! It was so dry it was inedible...the icing was pretty good so that's all we ate. My boyfriend didn't feel like returning it since it was already cut up...but we will not be returning!!

    Receipts of the transaction.

This cake ruined my birthday party yesterday 7/20 The cake is not good. The fruit in the cake was rotten. The customer service sucks. I went back today 7/21/2023 to Chantilly pastry shop to return / exchange the cake and the manager/owner Maria did not want to hear my complaint. She said that the police have told her that she should not accept food back in the shop. I told her to try the cake and she would not eat her own cake. She acted like she was offended. Again she said that the police have told her not to eat food that came out of the shop. When I took out my cell phone to record the bad customer service; Maria went to the back of the shop. It seems to me that she has a lot of experience dealing with people trying to return bad cakes and police. I will open a dispute with my bank once the transaction post. Do Not buy anything at Chantilly Bakery 60 Central Ave. Passaic NJ 07055 Joe

This is an amazing Peruvian Pastry shop. My friend, who is originally from Peru, ordered her Baby Shower cake there. And it was the best cake I have ever eaten in the United States. It was a "Torta de Tres Leches" or "Three Milks Cake", it was just so soft and smooth and just a-ma-zing, the texture melts on your tongue like ice-cream. I still remember it. Well it's true girls usually love cake. You can tell that the store is loved by the local Peruvian community. It was packed when we came to pick up the cake at the store. They also sell their traditional drinks, like blue corn juice and Inca Kola.(Really nice). If you are not familiar you should stop by and give it a try, totally worth it.

Where is the fruit and it had a refrigerator flavor. Shame shame. Don't buy cakes there. This one was old and expensive

The owner's wife old lady behind the counter has no customer service manners, rude and arrogant and for those reasons I'm out.

Great Peruvian bakery. Delicious desserts and ice cream. Didn't have to wait very long for walk in order of a birthday cake.

My uncle brought me in today because he swears by this place and gets excited to go before work each day. As soon as you walk in the smell and the aroma immediately smacks you in the face. The staff are friendly and the bakery is intimate in its design. When you enter, you're greeted by cakes and cookies and a variety of selections. Def worth stopping by!

I went here last year around Thanksgiving as I have been a big fan of this bakery for many years. I actually drive almost 30 minutes for treats to bring my family for the holidays. It was busy when I went in and a I waited in line for my turn. Once the man in front of me ordered, and the young blonde girl behind the counter called next, I went to place my order and the man in front of me mistakenly thought he could have her do the rest of his order. I still tried to get her attention, but she refused to even look at me. Here I will note that I look very different from the other patrons in the bakery at the time... take that for what it's worth. The other workers saw this happening, and didnt acknowledge how I was being ignored by this girl. The middle aged woman who works there, who I have bought from for years, then went to help the person after me... what kind of service is that? The crazy thing is the man in front of me even apologized for what he did because he was confused by what was going on, and the middle aged women STILL DID NOT HELP ME. I always thought she was a manager or owner... perhaps she doesn't like people with my skin color. Who knows. Finally, after an upsetting amount of time where I was feeling humiliated, a brown haired girl (with absolutely great eye makeup said she would help me). Good to know one decent person works there. I used to go there regularly when I worked in the area and stopped going as often, but I will never go again and have stopped recommending it to others. For the area, there are plenty of bakeries without people like this blonde girl, who would love to have a diverse group clientele who doesn't look just like them :) Avoid this place if you don't want to be treated like a second class citizen. The way I was treated was disgusting and shameful.

The shop is small with limited places to hang out -- there's a small counter where you can stand and sip your coffee. Otherwise, they have a few small tables outside. There's a second room which has cute merch and a fridge with additional cold beverages for sale. I tried the vanilla latte and took home some treats! The spinach handpie - basically a spinach/cheese breakfast pastry, the cinnamon roll (to die for!! It was fluffy and sweet but not overly sweet like other places are), and a pumpkin cheesecake bar with pomegranate seeds. What I really like about Erie is that they make all these delicious treats and once they are sold out, they're sold out. They don't make more for the rest of the day and they don't waste food. It's always fresh!

Our area has no shortage of bakeries but those of us that have sampled a number of them realize, there are truly ones that stand out from the rest. Erie Coffee Shop & Bakery is one of those bakeries! Cute old school bake shop. Really nice and professional staff. I went in trying to be "good" and not some out with a lot. Easier said than done in this bake shop. Everything looks amazing! I asked for recommendations and left with the citrus olive oil cake, chocolate chip cookie, almond cookie, and a Madeleine. Within a couple of hours, I devoured the citrus olive oil cake. Absolutely perfect! Hint of citrus and just the right amount of moist. Also, the perfect size to feel fulfilled without feeling overly guilty. Later that night, I went for the almond cookie. Amazing texture, truly better than any almond horn I've had. The next day, I broke a piece off of the chocolate chip cookie that we got for our daughter. Perfect cookie. Then I reached for the madeleine, better than any literary device I've ever had! Transported me to my couch, where I speechlessly consumed it with some tea! Awesome! I'll be back!
