Signature pasta with garlic bread and gnocchi ragu with garlic bread

I'm a huge pasta fan, as are most, and decided to jump over to Dartmouth to see what this place had to offer. It has been on my list to try for some time now, and yesterday was the day. The location is excellent, right on Portland St. We easily found parking across the street. We had a hard time choosing what to get as it all sounded wonderful. They have a menu outside the restaurant so you can check it out before entering. They also have a menu on the wall and large screens behind the counter with the menu as well. The owners are extremely friendly and greet every single patron, as well as thank them as they leave. The owner at the cash was very friendly and helpful when I had a question about a dish. They weren't pushy and didn't make it feel like I needed to be super fast like some other places. We ordered the Gnocchi Ragu and the Chanoey's Signature Pasta. They brought the dishes to our table and everything tasted so fresh! It was hot and delicious. Gnocchi Ragu: the gnocchi was perfectly cooked and the sauce has a deep flavour and was amazing. They had a great amount of cheese on top and it came with garlic bread! It was insanely filling, but I didn't want to stop eating it. I will 100% get this again. Signature Pasta: this dish was also great! The 'chef sauce' was described to me by the owner as a sweet gravy-like sauce. That was an accurate description, but it wasn't gravy in a bad way. It was a great flavour. The only downside to this dish was the amount of fat on the pork belly. We love pork belly, and this was cooked well, there was just a lot of fat on it. Would be perfect if that's something you enjoy, though! Overall it was a great pasta that we would order again, but due to the fatty parts would likely try something else first. This place was honestly a breath of fresh air. It was clean, the owners were delightful, the food was amazing, and the decor is Friends themed! (Chanoey =Chandler and Joey) We will absolutely be back to try some more pasta and probably some paninis as they sounded wonderful, too!

Daily specials are on the blackboard.

The atmosphere and the layout of the restaurant was wonderful. Lots of booths to sit in, main area tables, and the bar. Started with a few starter appetizers- the coconut calamari was a winner at the table. Everyone had something different for entrees and all was good. Would highly recommend this place for people who want to come and chill and have a comfortable area to come for both work or personal.

We had the Bellinis special, but they weren't very slushy, nothing like the posted photo. We mentioned it to our waitress for the 2nd round, she made a bunch of excuses that their machine in Halifax doesn't work properly, etc. We said well, try your best and then next ones looked exactly like the photos, and very delicious. The blue margarita was also exceptional if you like a tart drink. As an appetizer, we had the bruschetta, it was to die for! Highly recommend that! There were 4 of us, and everyone was very pleased with their meal, except the lady that had the Beef Wagoo Meatloaf. Some of her friends had been raving about the dish, and she decided to try, it was unremarkable at best, dry and heavy, not buttery and moist as she had expected...we all took a taste and everyone agreed, thumbs down for that dish. The Crispy Chicken Bowl, Ramen Bowl and the Chicken Penne were fabulous, highly recommend all 3. In hindsight we should have sent the meatloaf back, but we were drinking and having fun, and didn't really want to spoil the afternoon. We will definitely be back, lovely spot to hang with girlfriends.

The other bowl was filled with 90% rice and 10% the rest of the ingredients so, you were paying $12 for the rice. I called few times to inform their mistakeS and their phone just rang and rang but no one answered!! And, I live pretty far from the place! However, the Canadian guy at the counter was good and he better not get blamed for it!

Good food but needs improvement…read more We ordered a pangoa which has "brown rice, avocado, aged cheddar, cherry tomatoes, black beans, corn, cilantro, lime wedge, fiery bbq sauce" with steak as an add-on. We also ordered 2 drinks and a baja burrito to-go. Complaints: - the pangoa was completely missing avocado - the lime wedge was the driest lime wedge I have ever encountered. I don't even know if I got a drop out of it - it felt like the woman who took our ordered was rushing us. We started off ordering a burrito, she asked us if we wanted anything else, and we said "um" and she said total and directed us to pull up. Her mistaking our order was finished a couple of times was very inconvenient. We were also not taking long to tell her the orders as well. We picked everything out before summoning her on the speaker. This was maybe an hour ago from this post. Tips: - the pangoa is very filling and there was a lot of rice. I would ask if they could do half rice and half salad next time

I have never left a review like this before, but what happened at Quiznos in Dartmouth Crossing…read moretoday was so outrageous that it deserves to be public. I ordered a sub and a drink. The owner rang it in as a combo, which I did not ask for. I didn't notice the mistake until after I tapped my card. I wasn't upset about it, so I said it was fine and that I would grab a cookie so the charge matched what I paid for. That reasonable solution apparently triggered the owner. While I was waiting for my food, he came storming over to me like I had just robbed the register. He started yelling and calling me "a fucking thief." Every time I tried to calmly explain that he rang my order in wrong and I was just matching what he charged me for, he cut me off and got louder. He even threatened to call the police. All of this over a cookie he essentially forced into the transaction because he rang the order in incorrectly. Everyone in the restaurant stared because he was completely out of control. There was no willingness to listen. No accountability. No professionalism. Just hostility and humiliation toward a paying customer who did absolutely nothing wrong. Let me be very clear. There is never a valid reason to scream profanity at a customer, especially when the situation was caused by your own mistake. There is never a valid reason to escalate a harmless interaction into threats of calling the police. Everything about his behaviour was aggressive, irrational, and deeply inappropriate. I went in to buy lunch and walked out shaking because the owner decided to publicly attack me instead of taking responsibility for his own error. If this is how the owner treats customers, by yelling at them, insulting them, and threatening them over something he caused, then this location does not deserve anyone's business. There are plenty of places to eat in Dartmouth Crossing where customers are treated with basic respect. Save yourself the stress and go anywhere else.

So I do like Quiznos. My wife and I pop in once every couple months for a treat and always enjoy…read morethe food. My concern is for the washroom situation. There has been an out of order sign on one of the 2 washrooms for well over 2 years now. The other washroom is in disrepair. The toilet seat is delaminating and, coming from the cleaning industry/infection control background, is not able to be properly disinfected. That's assuming they actually do attempt to clean it. The cleaning log on the back of the "working" washroom is blank. If they repair a couple items and bring the other washroom online again I'd bump it up to a 5 star rating.
