Eat here. Spectacular mom & pop restaurant at the edge of Louisiana coast. Roast Beef Poboy - excellent Seafood platter - very good - a tad over-cooked but the seasoning was perfect. Seafood stuffed potato - Shrimp were perfect. Staff was amazing

Change is an apt name for a restaurant in an area that is evolving quickly due to the rising waters of climate change and disappearing marshland. It's not hard to believe that Louisiana is losing, according to the well-known maxim, an average of a football field of land every hour. Nearby, a facility's large parking area was washed out as were two roads. In some areas here, water is menacingly close on the sides of roads. It's alarming but locals seem to adapt as best they can. Importing canal boats from the original Venice, Italy, doesn't seem like a far-fetched future consideration. There's not much going on in this Louisiana Venice, except oil and maritime, and fishing with a rod and reel because there's nothing else happening. It some ways it seem idyllic but that's naive. So, what about Change's Restaurant? Well, be glad it's here and manage your expectations because on a Sunday morning, there isn't another real choice that I could find. The menu is short and the food is dependable and filling.

I can't say enough good things about this place. From the moment we walked in to the moment we walked out we were treated with such compassion! Food was great (roast beef & Cajun eggrolls) the owner was so nice and friendly. We got the small town ambiance, amazing feel! She even held our baby for us to eat. The server was great! The sign in front the door says it all! If you're in town this place is a must!

Stopped in this rural Changes restaurant Off of Highway 23 in Venice Louisiana which is surrounded by swamp and marshland somewhat remote from the amenities facilities developments of the suburban neighborhood so cellular service isn't very good and when I was inside the restaurant I couldn't get a solid phone connection The Restaurant a South doesnt have a town restaurant net work to connect to which was a big downer The pizza was delightful Quality ingredients are used here It's a humble establishment with humble selections it doesn't have all of the local hype and excitement smorgasbord of Seafood That Louisiana is famous for

Fabulous folks! Family business we loved this place! We have been fishing all day and caught tuna and had went back to our cabin and didn't feel like fixing our own food so we found changes got the changes they told us they did hook to table service so went back got some of our tuna fillets they cleaned them up they grilled some like black and some Lord it was fantastic if you are in Venice Louisiana and you and you're catching fish please take what you catch there and let these wonderful folks fix it for you properly

Stopped by for dinner coming in to go fishing the next day. Had the seafood fries, cheese burger, burger po boy and sweet tea. Sweet tea is very similar to unsweetened tea. Sugar packets and regular sugar available. Just doesn't dissolve that well. Burger and fries were good. Service was a bit slow but it doesn't matter if you're in good company. Homey atmosphere. Enjoyed.

I ordered the grilled shrimp platter, and it says something when the bagged salad was the best thing I ate. The shrimp were cold and way too overseasoned/salty and the fries were cold and bland. Couldn't finish my food. Maybe it was because we were a party of 20 people or it could have been an off day.... But I would not come here again.

As Ashley B stated "small town family feel"…read more This perfectly sums up Dad's Bar & Grill - a local seafood shack. We were heading to the Southern most point on the Gulf and stopped herefor lunch. It's a small space but what it lacks in space it makes up for in personality. I could tell that this was a well loved spot as we got some tourist "looks' when we entered (I guess they could tell we were not regulars :)). That was even before our "east coast accents" gave us away. The menu is not vast but if you are coming here - the thing to order is seafood. I mean it's a no brainer! The food is not fancy but good and exactly what I needed. As you can tell the shrimp were HUGE and the onion ring were homemade - what more can a girl ask for! They do have specials but I only had eyes for the shrimp patter. There not many restaurants in the area so if you are hungry and have a hankering for seafood - check this place out.

Ordered their smash burger lunch special and ladies and gentlemen save your money and go to B.J.'s Brewhouse or Buffalo Wild Wings because atleast at those two establishments you get your moneys worth for the burgers. This restaurant has mixed reviews but we found it wonderful! The restaurant was clean and beautifully decorated for Christmas! We started off with 3 Happy Hour Appetizers which were all good but our favorite was the spinach dip with pasta bow ties chips! So yummy! I couldn't decide which drink to start with when one of the bartenders said she had just created a Mardi Gras "New Fashioned" and made it a Christmas drink with icing and sprinkles. Wow!!!! It was delicious! I went on to have the Christmas Cookie martini which was also delicious and a Grinch Mimosa which was good as well. My friends got the Christmas margarita, the Crème brûlée margarita, eggnog martini and cinnamon White Russian. All were amazing! We actually like all of the drinks better than the ones we had at 2 Holiday pop ups! For entrees we had the Cypress burger which was cooked on point, juicy and flavorful along with cups of gumbo and a salad. All of the food was really good. We had a bonus of being there on Trivia night and had so much fun! The staff along with some of the regulars were extremely friendly and helpful. We all agreed we would be back.

My fiancé is the type who always has to have steak sauce, and the manager went above and beyond to find some for him. That level of service and attention to detail really stood out to us. We had no idea how right we were. The island was almost empty and the only people we encountered were state troopers sitting on the side waiting for some speeders. Further down into the island we had almost given up on the idea to have a "real" shrimp meal and turned around. Since it was time for a "natural" break we stopped at several places but they were all closed - except for one. When we drove on the parking lot a lady came out waving at us and asking us to come in. It was in fact the ONLY place that was opened selling beverages on Christmas Day. However, food was provided for free by the residents that came together to celebrate Christmas and they invited us to join them for their Christmas meal. We had ham and turkey, sweet potatoes, stuffing among many other things. What a great experience.
