What an awesome experience, our first time in Venice! We got a table that looked out over the docket, so we got to see some boats come in with giant red snapper hauls. The servers had a lot to contend with as far as crowds, but they made their rounds to keep us fed and quenched. They had excellent seafood gumbo (and they on accident brought us meat gumbo, which was VERY good also). Served with a whole cup of potato salad, the oysters especially, were so delicious. The showstopper, however was the snapper throat, if it's available, do not pass this up! The cheeks alone are worth the investment, but there is so much meat, between that and the gumbo, two of us were fully fed. I'm very happy we stumbled on this place, and hope to return! read more

Crab kickers, blackened shrimp basket, and for dessert beignets!!!! All are to die for. Wait staff was friendly. Took about 8 minutes to get our food and it was pretty busy when I was there. I'll be back everytime I come to Venice from now on. read more

Visiting from NYC, this place was an experience. Food and service were great and being right on the marina with bayou views was awesome.

I don't even know how to rate this restaurant. Such a shame for a place with good food to have such terrible service. Our friend had to go and get his own refill twice. Waitress never came back to ask how everything was or to see if we needed anything to drink. They wouldn't let us split our check between two couples and then much to our surprise they added 20% gratuity right on the check, which is probably why she wouldn't let us split the bill. We would've just sat on separate tables because there were plenty of empty ones there. So buyer beware it's written on the menu in small print and you will not get service worthy of any tip at all. read more

End of the Great River Road in Venice, LA, you'll find Crawgator. Seating on the deck with an ice cold beer made for a great end of the day. Service was good and price was right. We had, red beans, rice and hush puppies as well as fried redfish. Good stuff. Give it a try when you're down this way read more

This place smells like shit, literally! If you like smelling sewage while trying to eat, then go to crawgators bar and grill. This is the 3rd time(only because the food is great and the waitress staff is top notch) I've driven down to Venice and will definitely be the last. All three times I've had to take my food to go because the smell was horrendous! read more

How to make this place the best experience: 1)lower your rich ass, egocentric standards. 2) go to the bar, get yourself a beer all by your big boy self 3) pick a seat, anywhere of your choosing, and enjoy the view until a waitress greets you. If you do these three things, this place is awesome and food is delicious! This place can get packed and it's first come first serve. If you're in a rush don't come here. Grab some chips from the store and leave, waitress's aren't lazy, they're busy helping everyone. Also, they did still get the order wrong though, we ordered a blackened and a fried fish sandwich and they both came back fried. Not the biggest deal but like also, I saw you write our order down so WTF . So I guess tip #4 would be know they'll take your order, throw it in the trash, and you'll get what they give you. The food is over-the-top! I'm partial to the chicken and sausage gumbo. It is absolutely the best I've ever had! The reason for only two stars is the extremely poor service and the lack of cleanliness. The place could really use a deep power wash cleaning. Inside and out. The deck especially was unclean. If you sit out on the deck which is probably the best place to be you have almost zero service. In order for me to order anything, twice I had to go inside and flag down my waitress. If you don't mind substandard service and cleanliness this place is great. If it weren't for the poor service and unclean conditions I would give it 4 stars. read more

Amazing atmosphere!!!! We sat out on the deck and watched the tuna boats come it. The beer and food were excellent.

Not that bad. Prices are a bit high and food is average but It's in the middle of nowhere and there are very limited options. So if you're not cooking what you caught, this isn't a bad option. Bunch of TVs for game watching and a decent view of the marina. read more

Really neat spot to watch a game on the deck, while watching all the fishermen bringing in all they caught. Today I've seen more tuna than I've ever seen in my life. The menu is alittle limited here, but you know what your eating is fresh. The loaded seafood potatoe is the bomb. read more

We had dinner at Crawgators after a fishing charter on May 19th 2018. First of all the service was the absolute worst we ever experienced. Our waitress had a bad attitude from the start. It was busy, but at least TRY and clean the tables. Beers took 20 minutes to get to us. Paper plates and styro cups. Of the six meals ordered, only one was correct, burgers were cold, Potato meal was missing the gravy and shrimp, to which the waitress stated, "well, we runned out, what do you expect." It took so long to get the meals, no one wanted to send them back. Fried shrimp was pretty good. Secondly we were charged, for bottled waters and onion rings that were never served. Getting that straightened out took another 15 minutes. One of the other waitresses said, "yea, you got our worst server, sorry about that. No one likes her." No kidding! Having never been to Venice we found it to be a wonderful place and the people we met were kind and generous. We will be back to Venice, but to to Crawgators. Another restaurant 5 minutes away had better food and much better service. read more

This the worst place ever. We waited for 15 minutes. Never was greeted once. Had to go inside and beg for a mediocre over priced Bloody Mary. Then made to feel ashamed for it because "we don't unlock that bar". Umm hello you're a fishing dock in south Louisiana! If you want to make money you better consider unlocking the bar. Then. Then. I can't even talk about the service we received. Half way through our meal a waitress started using the electric blower to clean the patio. So I paid $40 for breakfast, oh wait, I mean dirt. Because I legitimately had so much dirt and sand in my food, I may have well as asked for dirt. Then I was pressured to close my tab which pursued into the waitress hovering watching for her tip and snatching her receipt from me. When I asked for the manager I was told she would "be in soon".
