**BEWARE!!! DO NOT SEE THIS DOCTOR IF IT'S FOR WORKER'S COMPENSATION!!!**…read more Dr. Shamash is the worst doctor my mom has ever encountered! I went with her to one of her appointments to understand why she didn't like him. I saw firsthand his complete lack of bedside manner. He was unprofessional, talked over her, didn't listen to her complaints about ongoing pain and discomfort, and dismissed her concerns altogether. My mom had her last appointment with him today, and she found it completely HORRIBLE. She is still experiencing pain in her entire arm from a fall that occurred at the end of January while at work. All this doctor did was prescribe physical therapy and provide a subpar letter stating "light duty," even though there isn't such work available at her job. Dr. Shamash refused to conduct any follow-up X-rays or MRIs to investigate potential injuries to her shoulder beyond the fracture in her elbow. My mom is in her 60s; she is not in her 20s or 40s, where healing might occur within a few weeks. Something is wrong if her hand continues to swell, and her arm remains painful even after three months! She described him as rude, stating that he told her there was nothing more he could do for her and suggested she find another job. IS HE SERIOUS? She even mentioned that he sarcastically asked her if he should prescribe therapy five days a week. How this doctor has high ratings is beyond me. It must be from his colleagues and friends.

We had an appointment at 4pm, after 40 minutes of waiting with no update, I went to speak to the receptionist and asked what was going on. Her respond was "Sorry the doctor is still seeing other patients". We left the office without seeing the doctor after 1hr + of waiting. IF YOU VALUE YOUR TIME AND YOU ARE A PUNCTUAL PERSON, PLEASE DO NOT GO TO THIS OFFICE. THE RECEPTIONIST HAS THE WORST COMMUNICATION SKILLS. This experience left me feeling frustrated and undervalued as a patient. I hope the office can work on improving their appointment scheduling and customer service to provide a better experience for future patients.

He then left the patient he was with and then was like "why are you talking to my staff". He came into my room and said that we are not getting off on the right foot and I'm being "feisty" and "fighting with him". ILITERALLY ASKED WHEN I WOULD BE SEEN!!!!! He then said that we can't get along and that me complaining wasn't going to work. He also asked if I was a new patient, meaning that he doesn't even know his patients. I genuinely think that he was antisemitic and didn't want to treat me from the start. Nonetheless, he's clearly sexist, unprofessional, and RUDE. I was a very uncomfortable environment. I would never recommend him to anyone. It was an awful experience from the minute i walked into the practice.

I recently moved was looking for a new podiatrist…read more My old one just seemed a bit blah and I was doubting his diagnosis of my feet. I'm pretty athletic so i'd like my feet to feel good. I looked on Yelp for a good 2 weeks - checked names with google searches etc. Originally I wanted a woman Dr (just thinking they'd be sympathetic to the high heel/shoe issue) .... I came up empty handed and had to choose one of the many men podiatrists. Not many podiatrists had reviews on Yelp, just a handful so it was kind of a crap shoot - I chose one that was more local with a few reviews. I looked at the one bad review from 2010 and realized that review was for a doctor in a NYC office. Not this Doctor. I made an appointment with the loveliest of receptionists with the greatest of ease. On the day of my appointment, I got there about 10 minutes early to fill out some paperwork (I could have printed out the forms from home and filled them out before hand) My appointment time was right on the button - no waiting what so ever. The Dr Gewirtz was SINCERELY nice. I was very comfortable with him. He assessed my feet for a good 40 minutes with the upmost of scrutiny - he took some x-rays - an ultrasound and told me what condition I actually had vs what my old dr claimed I had. In total I was there for a tad over 1 hour. I never felt rushed and he was more than willing to answer any questions that I had. Oh, and he was very sympathetic to my shoe/heel issues. He's not the typical geriatric foot guy - although he has patients of all ages (even kids) http://parkridgepodiatry.com
