South coast plaza is one of the best malls with luxury stores, and Chanel did not disappoint. Although, I did have to wait in line to get in, it went by quickly. My SA was grace and she was wonderful. I told her I wanted to look at the sneakers and tried on two different ones. Once I decided which ones I wanted I asked her about the story behind the collection. She was very knowledgeable and also mentioned how often they get a new collection in store. She wrapped my purchase beautifully and even sealed my experience with providing me with some samples of fragrance and body cream. This review is way overdue from Fall 2019 when I had the pleasure of having Jennifer as my SA. The Chanel Classic Flap (black/medium size/silver hardware) had been my holy grail bag FOR YEARS. Jennifer was so kind, genuine, friendly, and knowledgeable throughout the entire process. When I first met her in August 2019, I did not plan to purchase the classic flap that day but anticipated I would purchase it by October. Even though she didn't sell me the bag initially, she was very kind and gave me her business card so I could contact her if I had any questions before I came back. When I came back to purchase my bag, the entire transaction was seamless and it was just an overall joy to be in the store. :) The store in itself is beautifully organized and just aesthetically pleasing in every way imaginable. I usually hate going into any physical designer boutique due to the lacking of customer service. The experience I got at this particular Chanel location is very different from any other designer boutique I've been to. Prior to coming here, we booked an online appointment (I suggest everyone to do this if you plan to visit the store). We had a 3pm appointment with Kathryn Ko. She was on time and extremely friendly. We requested to see the Coco Crush ring in different variations. I wasn't sure of what size I wanted to get so Kathryn was very informative on the sizes and how to style them. Kathryn made our whole visit personable and she made sure that the attention we got during our visit was 100% us only. During the time that we were there, she tentative to our needs (1 customer at at time). We were in and out of the store within less than 15 mins and got what we needed. NOTE: 1. I came in over the weekend wanting to buy two bags. The store was not very crowded. I waited in line for about 20 mins and got let inside. The SA who was assisting me was not very friendly. All the items I wanted to see were out of stock. My SA told me "We have been informed by Chanel that there is no more wait list/reserve system. For any item you want to buy, you have to continue to come into the store and check for stock. We don't need customers. They need us. Chanel knows the high demand; hence, the multiple price increases and they are making it harder for people to buy." I didn't like what I hear but I appreciate her honesty. OK I was super apprehensive to head down to this boutique because of some of the reviews about how unhelpful the staff was. Armed with minimal online knowledge about what I wanted and worried about not being rich enough to buy some thing here I thought I would show up early so they would be less people to be embarrassed by. We showed up 30 minutes before store opening and had to wait in line. We were the third person in line. By the time it opened -at 11- there were probably a dozen people in line. We were escorted in and handed over to a sales associate named Courtney. If I could hire Courtney to work for me full-time I would. She was sweet, knowledgeable, friendly, well-informed and went out of her way or maybe was just doing her job but in such a great way that it made it feel like you were super special? They didn't have what I wanted so we had to go through kind of a gamut to find some thing that I was able to take home. Even when I spent 20 minutes wearing two purses back-and-forth back-and-forth back-and-forth and looking in the mirror to see which one I like better Courtney was sitting there laughing and joking with me. She was constantly on the go to find me anything else that I might like that I wasn't aware of. And she informed me of several of Chanel's processes and procedures involving handbag or leather good purchases of which I was clueless about. If I would say something wrong or ask for something they didn't make she never made me feel like a complete moron which I have felt like before when I have been to a luxury boutique to purchase some thing. (I mean, I love myself an Hermès scarf or two but if you ask for the wrong size or color, man those chicks are brutal.) either way, after an hour I finally made a decision and as we were getting rung up I saw three other things I wanted to look at. Courtney never made a fuss about it. She just pulled the items down to show me what I wanted to see and I never at one point felt like I was rushed even though there was a line of 20 people to get in because they are limiting the number of patrons in the store. I was definitely not her biggest price purchase of the day but she treated me like I was and I loved that. There was a little snafu at Chanel because their computer systems were down so unless you had cash you had to purchase the item and then they would have to mail it to you. So we did do that and Courteny was super communicative about when the registers went up as well as when the package got sent out and sending along the tracking information. I got the package the very next day and thrilled with what I got even though it was a fill-in for what I thought I went for LOL Either way I would highly recommend going to this particular boutique especially if you call ahead and get an appointment with Courtney. Been to this Chanel store a few times before but have always felt like I was not worthy of the SAs time and attention. But this time, SA named Yufei treated my friend and I really well. He went to the back a couple of times to help us clean off some of the imperfections we saw on the bags we were interested in. Never once did he complain or expressed annoyance. He was extremely patient and attentive and helped us selected the bags we eventually took home. And let me tell you... we were indecisive! We lingered around the store for hours trying to decide what to buy, and Yufei made sure no one else would take the bags we were deciding on, and didn't pressure us at all to make the purchase. I have visited numerous Chanel boutiques from east to west, including Paris, France. My experiences in all of the Chanel stores have been delightful with warm and welcoming sales associates. I don't go to the Chanel stores to browse. I pretty much know what I want and fortunately will come out of the stores with a purchase. My husband always accompanies me when I shop. We were in line for at LEAST 45 minutes before we were allowed to go into the boutique. Tired of standing in line, my husband found a nice sofa to sit on while I shopped. Until a sales associate, Christian Vincent Moreno of Chanel asked him if he was there to shop. My husband explained that I was around somewhere in the boutique making a purchase. Christian still asked him to get up from the sofa and to find me because "he needs to enjoy the shopping experience with me". My husband explained that he was just waiting for the sales associate to box/bag my purchase. But Christian still asked him to get up from where he was sitting. My husband felt he was being discriminated against while there were other couples in the boutique that were not next to each other "enjoying the shopping experience together". He escalated such treatment to Alexandra Viveros, Assistant Manager. Although she apologized, she wasn't empathetic and advised us that "shopping together" is their policy. We were assigned to Shahd who was super friendly and helpful. While my sister was looking at her wish list items, I found a Boy Wallet On a Chain in this vibrant green when someone opened the drawers that was absolutely BEAUTIFUL! It was the perfect length with champagne colored chain. Unfortunately, the one I found had a little scuff so Shahd wouldn't sell it to me quoting that they don't sell anything that is less than perfect (I was sad, but I love this! Especially considering the high price tag of their items). I didn't expect for there to be another considering how high in demand the items were, but low and behold, Shahd dug around in the back and FOUND ANOTHER ONE IN PERFECT CONDITION! SOLD! My second visit was just as fruitful! I came to look at a Boy Card Holder in green that wasn't available online or in-store during my previous visit. I wanted to see if I would be able to order it in-store or get on a waitlist since it wasn't available when I called. But OMG they just received ONE earlier that week and I walked away with it! One of my favorite stores at SOuth Coast Plaza, I cannot shop there without at least walking through the boutique. Service is exceptional, very helpful, but will also leave yo alone if you are just browsing. I love the set up of the store, the many small rooms dedicated to jewelry, clothing, purse, shoes, etc, very nicely spread out. My brother came in as soon as they open on 2/10/2024 to buy a pair of classic slingbacks - these were supposed to be a gift for our friend so naturally, he didn't try them on. He came in asked for the color and the size, told them to gift wrap and paid. My friend got the shoes and tried on 1 side, too small. Went in for an exchange, she was met with rude SA basically insinuating that the shoes must have been worn either by me or her.. I came in with the shoes thinking I would have more power to persuade. WRONG. I was told there was NO WAY their staffs would ever sell something like these, because "we always check for the size in the back we would have seen the marks". Sure are you sure one of the staffs didn't take advantage of the situation: a dude went in to buy a gift, 99.99% chance he would never think to open the box in the store to check for marks?? I tried to explain the situation again, she cut me off and gave me a card for customer service. I asked what would customer service be able to do for me, she replied "I don't know" and just stood there in silence waiting for me and my boyfriend to take the hint and leave. I've never felt so powerless and humiliated in my life. Also, I called customer service, and was met with confusion "hmmmm I wonder why they gave you this number because the store has the final say ultimately" I wish I had read all the reviews before being. This Chanel is not up to par. I was told by an advisor that this store has a lot of inventory when it comes to SoCal locations. So when we were in the area, I wanted to stop in to see if they had a ($6k) bag I wanted. This store is CRAWLING with tourists and a lot of people who seem to be "dreamin" and only looking. Especially frustrating when you know what you want & other people take up SA's time that aren't even there to buy. Anyways, when I finally got help- this older blonde woman assisted me and had an attitude right off the bat. Asked if the bag was available in the color I wanted & she said no but they could do a charge and send for me. Fine. While I was waiting I was looking at the bag in another color that they DID have just to get a feel for it. This bag is lambskin but had deep scratches literally all over it. So I ask the lady "just to clarify, I will be sent a brand new bag- not one used/scratched like this correct?" She said "yes, it will be new. But you need to realize your bag will end up looking like this" Are you effing kidding me? Seriously, the audacity of some of these sales people. I KNOW lambskin & I have many other Chanel bags- none of my bags look like that. Truly sick of the patronizing attitude of some of these SA's. And the fact they will sell a display bag at full retail that looks worse than a pre-owned bag is insane. Btw- Chanel isn't what it use to be, I highly recommend you don't do a charge and send (where you pay and they send you the item from another store). TLDR: SA didn't know her products, was not helpful (not sure if it was because I was not wearing my designer clothes/bags), and I bought my bag in overseas instead. I did my research and called the Chanel advisor before going into the store. Once I was there I asked the SA about a bag that I was interested in and she told me that Chanel bags sell out fast and that she never heard of the bag I was interested in and it probably sold out and they won't have the product sold anymore. She showed me a few other bags and said "that's all we have". I saw another customer with a bag I was interested in, so clearly that is not "all" they had. Well I called the Chanel advisor again and she told me that the bag I was interested in has not shipped out yet at any of the stores in Southern California. I would assume that a SA at an extremely LUX store such as Chanel in Costa Mesa would know this, but she did not. She was not very nice when helping me out either. I ended up buying a Chanel bag in Paris where the customer service was very very professional and good. She showed me various options that I was asking for and alternatives as well. She was also familiar with the bag that I was originally interested in and also said that the bag was not out yet. Confirming that SAs do know this information but the SA in Costa Mesa did not. We had an idea of what we wanted, but the associate was not helping or seem to have any interest in helping- she was too distracted on her phone. "May we see this? May we see that?" "Sure. Okay". I had a truly awful experience at the Chanel store in Costa Mesa. When I originally purchased a bag from them, I wasn't in love with it, and was told by sales associate Ericka that I could exchange it when new arrivals came in. When I asked her about new arrivals, she referred me to the website. A day before I was planning to make my exchange, I found a bag I loved and confirmed with Ericka that it was available, and was told to come in early the next morning to get it. However, when I arrived, the bag was not available. After looking around and being unable to find a suitable exchange, I asked for store credit. This is where things really went wrong. The manager Monir came to inspect the bag I was trying to exchange, and accused me of lying about it being unused, despite the fact that I had never touched or used the bag since purchasing it. She then walked away without giving me a chance to explain myself, and proceeded to gossip about me with her staff, leaving me feeling belittled and humiliated. I later found out from the Beverly Hills store that the bag I had purchased was actually a display bag, which should not have been sold to me as new, and was missing protective covers that were necessary for its care. Monir knew this, but still accused me of lying and refused to give me a proper resolution to the issue. I have been trying to get in touch with someone from Chanel to address this issue, but have been unsuccessful so far. I am incredibly disappointed by the unprofessional and dishonest sales practices at this store, and would strongly advise against shopping here. read more

My wife lives for Chanel bags so this is always a must stop when we are shopping at South Coast Plaza. What is interesting is that sometimes, you will walk in and find several things and other times, you can lap the store 3 or 4 times and find nothing that sticks out. This was one of the latter times. My wife found a pair of earrings she like that she wanted to replace a lost pair with but they weren't really jaw dropping enough to take the leap. We couldn't find any of the newer bags of the season that worked either. The people here are quite nice and helpful. They always keep a good record of the people who shop there and what they have purchased when you ask questions and they look up items. BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE. BAD MANAGEMENT. 1/20/2021 - My wife met a friend who has an appointment with Tiffany at 6 PM. They BOTH came in and I waited outside due to their policy. While in the store, my wife wanted to purchase a Coco purse, but Tiffany kept saying that purse won't be available for purchase, even waiting list is more than a year and a half. Disappointed. I was curious and asked the guard, he said just wait for a person come out and I can come in. 2 people came out, they let people in the line to come in and I still wait outside. My toddler was getting a fussy and wanted his mom. I asked them nicely again and same answer, wait for a person to come out. I was irritated and started to raise my voice. Then they let me in. To management: if you have a policy, then enforce it to everyone, equally. STOP treating customers like they can't afford your sh!t. STOP hiding merchandise in the back room. Rude, condescending and disrespectful manager and sales associates at the Chanel store in South Coast Plaza. Made my first bag return bc I had a bag shipped to me that I have never seen in person. Turns out, the purse wasn't what I expected. Immediately as I walked in the store, I mentioned I had a return. The first question the sales associate asked me was if I received the bag as a gift. That's a very presumptuous question considering I bought the bag for myself and was intending to keep it if I liked it. Then the manager who proceeded to examine the bag immediately shut me down and said he couldn't accept the return at his store bc part of the bag was made of lambskin and the chain left a small imprint (which later came off from rubbing the leather). He immediately followed with the return was not going to be accepted bc I had damaged the purse. I said I only had the bag for three days and kept it in the box the whole time. The manager continued to say that he wouldn't accept the return bc they would never sell a bag like that to a customer. I was in complete shock. I said, I just received the bag and it literally came this way. In addition, I have seen many lambskin bags with imprints and have heard from many SAs that claim it happens often with lambskin and that it comes off immediately upon rubbing the leather. This is their own sales pitch to clients buying lambskin! What a joke. It wasn't until I started to call the Beverly Hills store, where the purse originally came from that the manager quickly changed his tune and said he would text the store manager at Beverly Hills. After waiting a good 20 minutes, the manager received the ok from the Beverly Hills store for the return. What a giant waste of time and energy having to deal with the rude, incompetent staff at this location. A lot of unnecessary accusations, attitude and judgement was given for no good reason, which could have been all avoided if they 1) didn't assume I didn't purchase the bag myself especially when I had the receipt in hand and 2) didn't immediately jump to conclusions that I damaged the bag, when I absolutely didn't. I have never dealt with this at Fashion Island or Beverly Hills. Highly recommend going elsewhere to purchase Chanel. I definitely won't be coming back. read more

Minus one bad experience in the store, every other time has been good. I was first introduced to Chanel in high school, when my dad's friend brought me here and purchased a watch for me as my graduation present. I've been coming back ever since, whether its for small purchases like make up and cologne, or for larger purchases like handbag and shoes. Most of the sales people here are decent. The only bad incident I had was one Christmas, I was extremely sick and in bed for several days. My ex knew I was eyeing a purse from here and dragged me out of bed to come and purchase it before Christmas day. We weren't super well dressed this day, because this was going to be our only stop, so we might have looked like we were just browsing or something. Anyway, this blonde saleswoman gave us this stare when I was showing my ex the purse that I liked. She made us feel like we were in the "Pretty Woman" movie, if you know what scene I'm talking about. She came up to us and said really coldly and snobbishly, "Can I help YOU?" and proceeded to take the purse from my hand. OMG, did she really just do that?!?!?! I then told her I wanted to purchase the item and then she asked me if I knew how much it costed. I should have just punched her or something, but being sick, "I said yes, it costs $...." I suppose that is when she realized we were serious. She proceeded to ask me how we were going to pay, and by this time, my ex was livid and said we should purchase it from a different sales person. But seeing that it was Christmas and the store was busy, and I was SICK, I just wanted to pay and leave. Its only when I told her we would pay in cash and took out a couple of thousand in CASH that her attitude suddenly changed and she was sooooo n-i-c-e. Again, I was thinking "REALLY?!?!?!" Chanel - white Cambon purse awaits me inside - Women's Clothing Near Me - Costa Mesa, California

I've never been to a Chanel boutique because 1) the brand focuses on women's wear and accessories and 2) I believe $5000 for a handbag is a bit ridiculous. However, the high price tag is justified by posh setup of the store, high quality of the bags, and the friendly service. I was assisted by Grace upon my first visit and she gave valuable advice and she searched high and low for what we were looking for the bags we needed to see and educated us on the different sizing offered for the Boy bags and the Gabrielle hobo. She went above and beyond by bringing out things she thought we would like, and her suggestions were spot on as we left the store with the bags she recommended instead of the ones we initially came in to buy lol. After lunch we came back to the store because we forgot to get a belt that my friend was looking for and we were assisted by Jennifer who was also comical and patient despite the fact that it took about half an hour to find just ONE belt. ((TIP: If you're ever looking for a belt in store, selection of belts in this store was abundant but they were hidden in a drawer under the sunglasses.)) Vanessa A. was my fashion advisor today and she is amazing! I have been to the Chanel boutique in Beverly Hills and Las Vegas but the South Coast Plaza boutique will always be my favorite! Having a really nice fashion advisor makes all the difference. I felt so unwanted at these other boutiques but not at SCP! I had an amazing shopping experience with Vanessa. I told her what I wanted and she was honest with me about everything and super informative. I wanted a particular item which the boutique didnt have but was able to locate it at another boutique and was able to seamlessly get everything done to ship to my home. Great experience. My credit card information was stolen and someone spent an exhorbitant amount of money at this store. I'm angry with Chanel for allowing this thief to make purchases without the physical card and a matching ID. I've been calling Chanel for over a month to look for a resolution. After a month's long promise of looking into this and promising to contact my financial institution, all I get is "Your financial institution needs to reach out to us". I don't understand why they wasted so much of my time pretending to want to help. I spoke to atleast 6-7 different sales reps for 20-30 mins each time I called. I live in NY and these purchases were made in CA. But both bank and Chanel don't seem to have my best interest at heart. I will never shop at a Chanel store. read more

I love this Chanel store! I want to update my review and again I'm giving them five stars. Sirosh is so awesome!!! Without him I will not be able to get my Chanel 19 Fall collection in black (I love the new custom NFC Microchips). With his help I was able to get exactly what I wanted. When I reach out to him, he will reply right away. I didn't have to wait in line my bag was ready for me. I will keep coming back for more. They're friendly and very accommodating. read more

Their system to wait in line to go in is ridiculous. They only allow 1 person in at a time (if you're in a group, you and your friends/partner) would have to rotate WHILE they let the next group in. My friends & I came wanting to purchase different items but wanted each other's opinions but guess not since we had to rotate It only makes more sense if you allowed the same group to come in when another group leaves. FYI - All of a sudden, they let a family of 4 go in without hesitation of 1 person per a group can go inside... THEN the lady in charge of the line tells me I can go in now (after I waited outside for such a long time & obviously, after I saw them allow a family of 4 go in) Their Beverly Hills location is way better in managing the line. I originally bought my purse from Paris and it had numerous product issues. At the South Coast store I met Shay and her manager, sorry I did not know her name. I was super desperate since I had only 14 days to exchange. Shay and her manager kept eye on the purse before 14 days passed. I highly recommend Shay as a FA. She was so professional and did not sugar coat anything. She was in contact with time during the last week and helped me out to get the dream purse. Shay and her manager are the best!!! read more

The staff are very rude, stuck up And unfriendly. I hate to say it but always feel racially profiled. I never get greeted and i always have to approach the employees first. Completely different vibes when i go to any other store. Yes it's Chanel but Even if i do want to browse be kind! you shouldn't judge people you have no idea what they intend on spending or what they don't once they receive the uncomfortable rude staff. BUYER BEWARE!!! Make sure you take a picture of shoes when you buy them. Don't trust because it's Chanel they're not used. Very dishonest and horrible customer service. Will not let you return even for an exchange. It's like those discount stores no refund no exchange. read more

This is the worst Chanel boutique I've been to, including the overseas ones. First off, I made an appointment via customer service hotline about two weeks ago prior to my visit. About a week later (10 days or so prior to my original visiting day), I got a text message from the boutique manager Coco and said they're having a private event that same day so they need to reschedule mine appointment. I get it, they need to move appointments around, at least they notified me ahead. So I picked another day, she said she will let me know if this is confirmed in a few days. I never heard back from her until I texted her after a few days and asked if the appointment was confirmed... Finally a SA named Danli was assigned to me and she texted me prior to the appointment for confirmation. On the day of my visit, in the beginning Danli seemed nice and helpful. After a while, she started to lose some patience when I was being indecisive on which earrings I wanted to get. Then I said I want to look at some scarves, I was also being indecisive on which style I want to take, and she said oh this is the only scarf that is under $1000... The other one is too big maybe you don't understand... in my mind I was like did she think that I couldn't afford it because I was being indecisive? I didn't mean to sound bougie that I can afford it or not, more like why would you say that to a customer? When I finally landed my eyes on that one design, I asked her can she show me the other scarf (same design, two scarves on the rack) so I can compare which one is better is terms of quality (as in no damage or defects) She said yeah you can get it yourself.. FYI they actually were hung on a over the head rack which I couldn't reach it, my husband who's tall enough had to get them for me which also was challenging as it's all the way up there. I decided to take some earrings and a scarf and nothing else as the overall experience just makes me not want to do any business with her. I did want to look at other items but why would I want to deal with her given the attitude like this? She basically lost the chance to get more commissions from my business. She then asked oh you don't want to look at bags or ready to wear? I said no that's all I want. And then it took her a very long time to pack a few items (which I know usually doesn't take that long), she came out with a shopping bag with no Camellia and ribbon, and the boxes inside had no Camellia either. I asked and she said they ran out, I know it's not true as I saw other customers got them. I know they play favoritism - maybe they did have low stock and they chose who to give them to. But in this case I felt like she wasn't happy about my small purchase. I had really great experience in the LA store and the SA was so nice and I ended up got more stuff than I thought I would be , because of the great customer service. If I ever need help in searching some items, I will text her. This could have been Danli if she didn't act like this. They are so short sighted, they judge customers based on what they bought that day or their purchase history, but they never thought of what comes after, maybe the customer needs something in the future, and also the power of referral. This store is notoriously known to have bad service and I feel like they don't care. I hope their management team sees this. NEVER AGAIN! read more
